oh, btw.. i selected yellow for subs yesterday and it was white.. the code for yellow in your prog is diff from JAMAT.
JAMAT = 720p-fontcolor=0xFFFF00
MulTiAVCHD = 720p-fontcolor=0x0000FFFF

@asherungar, @odin24: any results on the NTSC version?

Do you just drag the whole AVCHD folder to a usb and the PS3 should be able to play it
I get a black screen for about 1 minute and then it goes back to the XMB bar
i am in Canada so i don't know if its the PAL menu or not,anyway i downloaded the ntsc version(The menu is Pal and i can't change it)and i get the same thing
i am not even sure how to play AVCHD from usb so this post could be useless
thanks

Yes, that't right - copy to root of your usb drive.
I don't know how you could determine if menu is PAL or NTSC. It is coded in NTSC format in the ntsc version. Do you use HDMI connection from your PS3 to your TV?
edit: PAL system in drop-down is disabled and not affecting anything... it is just a gui addon that is not used for now.

I tested with a different .mkv and now it works on the ntsc version ,the first mkv was transformers that i made from HD DVD using ripbot and the second is just a 20 second clip using the same evo file
i will test the 20 second clip with the pal version to see if works
edit
multiAVCHD pal version skips the menu and goes right into the first movie

I added NTSC link in first post:
multiAVCHD_NTSC.rar (http://rapidshare.de/files/41258503/multiAVCHD_NTSC.rar.html)
Please share the results.

Thanks to both of you, really!
So, now I must find a way to mux interactive track (IGS) with menu (AVC video + AC3 audio) and we'll have custom menus.

I just tested on 1 mkv... that's all that I had at the moment. It works fine creating a AVCHD, tested on a USB stick.
Really, this is the first time I used it... pretty slick!

Well, i think i've found some kind of bug, i got the latest build and i've made a 3 titles avchd from 3 mkvs.
only the first 2 menu links are good, 3rd link gives me nothing.
all the process went well and all files are in the structure as well.

You can PM me the LOG... I guess some of the MKVs are not tsMuxer friendly.
I guess, I'll add some error counter at the end of the log.
If mkv's are missing that means that tsmuxer was unable to detect/remux some of the MKVs selected.
Please let me know of your case, zoner.
p.s. Do you see the third MKV somewhere in the MTSs in the output folder?
... p.s.X :) And something else... Do you see somewhere in log "Setting menu for XXX titles..."? XXX should reflect the real count - i.e. tsmuxer's output + avchd folders (if you didn't touch cut start/end settings).

I guess some of the MKVs are not tsMuxer friendly.
that is most likely the cause as i have found out thru trials.

In latest build (92) I added error checking on tsmuxer's output.
Also warning is issued if video height is not avchd compliant (720 or 1080).
---
Fixed playlist files generated by tsmuxer with ID:MPLS0200, now set to MPLS0100.

^ 480 & 576 is also compliant :)

I was thinking if to add these... I will add both so no warnings for videos with 480/576.

Hi Dean,
Is there any possibility you could provide an option to directly "Add Transport Streams", ie: something like this: -

Yes, but they will be available as additional titles, because I'll need tsMuxer to convert them to avchd. Is that ok?

I added it. It is done with the same top left button. It is not expected to work on every m2ts/mts/ts but only those with h264+ac3... and it is experimental for now.
@seemoredigital: it is compatible with the MTS files you've sent me to test with couple of weeks ago.

Second that, isn't there a way to insert black bars WITHOUT re-encoding?
I know this may seem a stupid question, but I've read somewhere (don't remember where) that it was possible with h264 content.
idbirch2
5th January 2009, 15:13
I don't think it can be done without re-encoding. I have tried using H264info to crop a few pixels off a 1920x1084 H264 ts file and the resulting output, although detected as 1080, played in the top third of the screen when played on the PS3.

I'm preparing next version multiAVCHD 1.3 / lite:
* option to add or not TOP menu (saving space on media)
* option to add standard (motion) or lite (static) menu
* option to chose video standard for lite menu (PAL/NTSC)
* auto download for missing lite menu files
* 2 versions (full - 115MB with motion menu / lite ~4MB with static menu)
* drag and drop to application (adds only compatible files/foders)

Looking forward to it Dean. With the static menu, will it be easy to customise the text i.e. customise the titles of the tracks on the menu image?
deank
5th January 2009, 15:38
:( No. Still a proper mux is needed for video and interactive graphics to create the custom menu.
I'm still reading the ts iso :)
idbirch2
5th January 2009, 16:16
TS ISO, mmm, that'll make some good bedtime reading! What app are you using to create the preset menu? Maybe some of us could get hold of the same software to make our own menus until such time as multiAVCHD allows custom menu creation? Or maybe replacing the menu would cause problems when multiAVCHD expects the preset one?
deank
5th January 2009, 16:22
At the moment, multiAVCHD expect to see "multiAVCHD" string in index.bdm* (not really required, but that helps avoiding adding menu media again and again if multi-generated folder is used again). Also modification of title numbers and sequental playback in movieobj*.bdm* is set for 20 titles and depends on the original structure.
As I earlier said, I'm using nero vision 5 to create multiavchd menus. I'm doing subtitling/translations/presentations for my company so I'm using my office copy :).

New version uploaded.. (version 1.3 build 104)
In Authoring menu additional options allow to create:
http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/multiavchd_authoring.jpg
* motion menu
* static menu
* no menu
If static (lite) menu is chosen - AVCHD will be generated in selected SYSTEM format (PAL/NTSC).
http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/multiavchd_title_0x.JPG
http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/multiavchd_title_1x.JPG
http://multiavchd.deanbg.com/multiavchd_title_2x.JPG
If you chose not to create TOP menu:
* Playback will start from title#1
* Sequental playback will be forced
* Top-menu button *should* point to Title#1
Later I will update first post will full download links for
- PAL full/lite version
- NTSC full/lite version
===
Current NTSC and PAL users should get full functionallity just by updating their multiAVCHD.exe. It should download the newly required media automatically.

Hi Deank,
I have some comments on this tool:
1) This is a wonderful tool, congrats!!! I like to see your effort to make it work for everybody.
2) You really should implement AviSynth with the program. Basically for two reasons, one is that it is a must to be able to change menu names on-the-fly, and then because most people that are using this tool have already AviSynth installed!
3) I had problems with the PAL menu (I have a NTSC ps3) and I just figured it out after wasting 3 BD-Rs and 2 DVD9s... heheh, I was 90% sure that the reason for the failure was the PAL menu, however I couldn't send a post here because of this stupid 5 days without posting rule (After registration)... you can imagine how mad I became:D. Now that the problem is solved I suggest you to maintain only the NTSC version, afterwards the PAL ps3 can read that perfect (Danm $$$ony!)
4) I think that you should make an option so that the user can choose between authoring a AVCHD or a BD (i.e. Make BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders)
5) I found a minor BUG: on settings if you change the Destination folder everything goes ok ("/AVCHD/" folder is created after the path). However if you change the Temp folder the program doesnt create "/_TEMP/" after the chosen path.
Thank you very much, keep up the hard work!

Hi Dean,
2) You really should implement AviSynth
I will, as soon as I figure out how to make custom menu.
3) I had problems with the PAL menu (I have a NTSC ps3) and I just figured it out after wasting 3 BD-Rs and 2 DVD9s...
There is NTSC download link in first post. Sorry you've missed it.
4) I think that you should make an option so that the user can choose between authoring a AVCHD or a BD (i.e. Make BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders)
multiAVCH button creates AVCHD structure and multiBD creates BD structure.
5) I found a minor BUG: on settings if you change the Destination folder everything goes ok ("/AVCHD/" folder is created after the path). However if you change the Temp folder the program doesnt create "/_TEMP/" after the chosen path.
I'll check this. I have _TEMP always created.

I suggest you to keep only NTSC version!
'Cause 24p is a blu-ray standard, while 25p is not.

I'm getting this error when opening multiAVCHD on vista premium 32 bit
= CDragDrop: DragAcceptFiles: (RT) Access violation at address 016EDE88. Write of address 016EDE88 - Line 13
This didn't happen until after build 88. Any ideas?

Yes, I added drag-and-drop by your request :) and the one that has problems is you :)
No problems with WinXP and VistaUltimate.
I can PM a version without drag/drop functionality.
edit: Do you get this error only when dropping LARGE files?

Er it was vista ultimate 32 bit, not premium.
Bummer that's something that I'd really appreciate too.
I'd be willing to try without drag and drop version but do you have any idea why it gives that error for me?
I've done a fresh install of ntsc full and lite versions so far.

Hi Dean, thank you for this wonderful tool!
1) I found a bug. I add file like this:
- video_A.mkv (with video_A.srt)
- video_B.mkv (with video_B.srt and video_B1.srt)
- video_C.mkv (with video_C.srt)
The result is:
- Title#1 OK, one subtitle
- Title#2 OK, two subtitles
- Title#3 with video_C.srt and video_B1.srt subtitle
2) In tsMuxeR tab I can't set subtitle offset = 110 (it's impossible to put 3 numbers, I had to edit manually .ini file to insert the correct value)
3) thanks for add no menu option. It's very useful when I convert only 1 file, because I'm lazy and tsMuxeR does not save options ^__^;;;
I notice that some files in some folder (i.e. STREAM and PLAYLIST folders) are unnecessary, but it works.
4) I think that you should always make BD folders, it's very useful in case I should go from 8.3 filenames to non 8.3 filenames and burn it on DVD/BD.
5) Thank you very much! :-)
P.S. sorry for my bad English

Hi Dean, thank you for this wonderful tool!
1) I found a bug. I add file like this:
The result is:
- Title#3 with video_C.srt and video_B1.srt subtitle
Stick to the subtitles you'll watch the movie with :) (not 10 different .srt's in same folder)
... Can you PM me the names of the MKV and SRTs?
2) In tsMuxeR tab I can't set subtitle offset = 110 (it's impossible to put 3 numbers, I had to edit manually .ini file to insert the correct value)
I'll make it wider :) so it'll accept values greater than 99.
Update and you'll have 9 digits length.

4) I think that you should always make BD folders, it's very useful in case I should go from 8.3 filenames to non 8.3 filenames and burn it on DVD/BD.
So... that's why both buttons generate BD file structure and multiAVCHD button only converts filenames to 8.3.

multiAVCHD is a standard win32 application and should run fine on almost any windows version. I still think that you should be able to run in (the _noDD.exe) without errors.
