Custom titles work.

If you name your srt like ... movie name.LID.srt where LID is your language code (like gre) - it will be used and shown in player as Greek.

SRT line timing option is moved to ADVANCED tab... I had no time to update the tutorial with the new tabs and options explanation.

To increase the number of donations, you may have to think about some 'marketing' issues. I know, you don't have time for this, but some of the early users should post more information about your great program in other forums.

As of today, your program is the only one which allows the storage of HDV (camcorder) movies on BlueRay disks with one single step and WITHOUT any re-coding! Most people don't know that re-coding takes time and some of the original quality! Make this known!

It is just that I didn't know if it will be so much interest in multiAVCHD - I'm glad of course... :)

I had to think of other ways to support my update server because of the heavy traffic.

I'm not into marketing and stuff... I posted about multiAVCHD in one or two forums... and that's it. I'll think about it.

Thanks.

Dean

p.s. May be this "multi- part in the name or the multiple blablabla in one structure" are not clear enough... because multiAVCHD can be used for single files and folders to do all needed transformations...

Hello Dean,

It's the first time that I try to work with this format - a VC1HD-DVD .ts file.
And multiAVCHD don't recognised it. This is the analysis report of the file:

Thanks for your comments deank !

You can always use a more catchy title like "AVCHD Workshop", "HD Maker" etc ;)

The program is getting much attention in the Greek forums as far as I know, and a lot of people are expecting the custom title feature. Keep it up !

@vpapanik: Thanks... And as I said earlier - custom menu/titles work... and I'd rather keep the name "multiAVCHD". :)

@xeniste: can you send me the output from mediainfo, not from ts packet editor?

Sorry, I was not clear, I meant the Custom Menu Title Names Editor...

Do you have any idea where I can find a custom background to test 'Custom Menu'. Or at least the resolution required. Thanks a lot :)

You can put any JPG/JPEG/BMP file for background... it will be resized...

Or.. search GOOGLE for images :)

Click here and you will see multiAVCHD background :) (http://images.google.bg/images?q=winter&um=1&hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=N&imgsz=huge)

[x] use fade transitions

and edited the names in the media tab.

First of all, my compliments for your great work Deank.

I use multiAVCHD to create compilations with my pref. tv series with subs and watch them on my PS3.

Now it's possible to add an mkv file to a comp already created with multiAVCHD? or everytime i have to add all the previous episodes and rebuild the AVCHD?

While multiAVCHD is a great program, it's also VERY DANGEROUS!

When I first tried the tools some time ago it deleted all files in the Temp drive root folder. Luckily there was no important data got deleted. I think the issue is fixed.

Now I just tried the latest version. Add a few AVCHD folders from a drive and output to anther drive. But half way in the processing the multiAVCHD error out and said can't move a file. So I delete the stopped output AVCHD folder, and redo the process with fewer input AVCHD folders. multiAVCHD log give some new warning message like missing clpi etc. And I finally figure out the first few source AVCHD folders which multiAVCHD did processed, before stopped with error, were actually MOVEd (deleted) to the output folder (which I deleted seeing multiAVCHD failed the processing!). And yes, now I did find the "Move input files" option in Settings, but it's too late! DAMN!

Seriously, IMO, the default should be to Copy, NOT Move. Even in Move mode, it should only delete the source data, after the whole process is successful!

regards,

Li On

I took time to write tutorial and explain all the options. You didn't take the time to read them.

Also I'm changing the process not to touch AVCHD folders, but in some of the next releases.

TUTORIAL SAYS: [x] Move input files - Used when processing AVCHD folders. It will speed transfer if TEMP and TARGET folders reside on the same physical drive. If used with AVCHD input folders - USE WITH CAUTION. Input folders will be emptied.

HOVERING OVER THE OPTION SAYS: If something goes wrong, you input folders will be messed!

First of all , thanks millions to neighbour deank for that great software ..

Than , I've a little problem with it. I'm using a PAL PS3 with 2.60 firmware as a player and my display device is Benq Mp620c XGA projector which can handle 720p and 1080i. I'm using build 342 but previous versions have the same. The problem is ;

a. when displaying top menu and menu screen , screen resolution changes to 720x576 and I have a bad output. ( why there is no option for menu in 720p ? )
b. after selecting a title from menu , screen resolution changes to 1280x720 if the source video is real 1280x720 and I have a good output.
c. after selecting a title from menu , screen resolution changes to 1920x1080 and then back to 720x480 and plays in low resolution if the source video 1280x528 or something like this ( But if I play the title from stream directory it plays 720p but without subtitle. )

any idea ? Thanks...

It is not implemented yet. Just generating additional file (multiMENU.txt) inside AVCHD folder to be used in next version for making additions to existing folders.

Build 344:

If you have [x] Move input files checked it will be ignored when processing input AVCHD folders. Contents will be copied instead and you'll be informed in the log.

This should prevent problems with people not reading the manual.

*** edit ***

Option is now renamed to [x] Move transitional files and is used only when transferring output from tsMuxer when converting mpeg/m2ts/mkv files to AVCHD folders before incorporating them into final output.

Ok, I don't read manual! (actual I did, trying to find setup info for custom menu as I heard x264 encoder is needed, but there was no detail so I searched and download the x264 encoder, then found out multiAVCHD already included it!)

[x] Move input files is fine, its a feature. My opinion is to not checked by default. If the user want to speed up the process, or really want to "move" the file, he/she can select the option, and no one can complain afterward.

Anyway, due to the incident of "move" file. I have a minor bug report. I added 3 AVCHD folders, but the first source AVCHD folder was already been "moved" by multiAVCHD (and multiAVCHD allow me to add the folder like normal), when processing, the log said the first AVCHD folder is missing clpi file etc, and correctly processed the next 2 AVCHD folders. But the resulting custom menu has the first 2 AVCHD folders names, which points to the second and third AVCHD folders content.

Li On

You can now safely have the option turned on.

And multiAVCHD accepted the empty folder, because it searches for index.bdm* files. Later it 'finds out' that CLIPINFO/STREAM folders are empty and reports it.

I'm processing a AVCHD folder and wonder why it takes so long. Then I see the log say it process each .clpi file, then a .clpi.bak file, hence it copy each mts file 2 times! I checked my source clipinf folder does has a .clpi.bak for each .clpi file. I guess that maybe due to I ran too many times of AVCHDme on the folder. Maybe multiAVCHD should only process .clpi files and ignore other file?

This is the log during the section:

This is fixed, too.

Sorry for the least few updates.. now in build 349 EDIT and DEL buttons behavior is fixed. Also title names from AVCHD folders not in lowcase and only *.C*PI and *.MPL* files are processed (so no cpi.bak files).. also fixed SRT detection in MKV folder.

Great, works fine now. Thanks !

Some suggestions :

1) It will be good to 'remember' the last opened folder for adding AVCHD/BDMV folders. Now it defaults to the multiAVCHD installation folder.

2) It will help if the subtitle language can be selected from a combobox, or, more easily, edited in a textbox inside the 'tsMuxer' tab instead of renaming the .srt file.

3) The program could automatically read a text file named <mkv name>.txt or .mnu that includes the menu list entry for the .mkv file, instead of editing the menu entries by hand. For folders it can be <folder name>.txt.

Keep it up :)

Congrats on the new version. I like the Title Editor. I don't believe it, but I now have a fully functional custom menu. :) I haven't changed anything, just downloaded the latest version and it now works. The custom menu background also works.

I'm glad it finally :) worked for you. I added this option in authoring - Frames to encode... I think it was the reason encoding failed for you. If you have time next days you may try to lower the value (move slider to most left position) and see if you'll get the same error as before... I guess in your case - the best value could be about 10 or 16.

***

I did some tests with menu video resolution. I tested:

1920x1080p - played again in 1080i but I think output is more crisp
1920x1080i - it is currently used for menus
1280x720p - played in 720p
1440x1080p - played in 1080i... wasn't 4:3 but stretched to 16:9
720x576 - played in 576p... a bit blurry... but works.

Of course navigational graphics are either misplaced or missing. :)

Might sound sound so stupid. How do you put more than 1 movies in folder (AVCHD). I read your guide many times but still didn't figure it out.

"Copy the output folder (AVCHD) to the root of your external USB disk" What do you mean by "root of your external USB disk"?

Thanks

Hi deank,
I processed one mkv file whose resolution is 1280X544. It should be 16:9 but PS3 played it as 4:3. Is there anywhere I can change it to 16:9? or is it possible to add an option to set it manually if I know it is 16:9 or 4:3?

Thanks deank for the quick update! :) Now I have a feature request! :)

It'd be great to have a "title" page for each title on the main menu. For example I have Movie A/B/C/D on the main menu, when selected a movie, there is a second menu (so I can use different background graphic for each movie) with a "Play" or even a chapter list (if available, and only list in number is good enough), and a back to main menu option of course.

regards,

Li On

You may add multiple files or AVCHD folders to multiAVCHD media tab. After you complete the compilation you will have ONE AVCHD folder, which contains all movies you used. Then copy this new folder to your USB.

No, no one possibly could. PanasonicTVs and SAPs with SD card capabilities seem to use BDMV (movie-only) instead of HDMV (movie and menu) AVCHD type. The format of some files is different for the former and I'm working to make it work.

multiAVCHD already sets the correct aspect ratio. If AR<1.77 it is set to 4:3, otherwise to 16:9. Please update to the latest build (351+) and try again and post the results. My PS3 plays everything fine in 16:9.

:) It would be great, wouldn't it...

Panasonic just made an update available for the EU versions of the BD30. The changelog mentiones "Playability of AVCHD format (motion picture) recorded on an SD card". Might already be fixed :)

The firmware is V. 2.2, dated 3-feb-2009.

I think that will only become possible when we get more info on the BD structure available, so someone can make/build a muxer that is, frankly, better than tsMuxeR, both option-wise as development-wise.
