Hi all :)
I wonder if it's just me, or? I have just installed the app. As the very first thing, I add a HDV MPEG file. I then click "properties" in the app...and then it crashes. Doesn't MultiAVCHD support HDV files?
Example file here: http://www.mitip.dk/mpeg/original.zip

...Did the link I provided help you resolve your problem? I do not know yet. Your link will provide a startpoint from where to start searching for a solution. But I am not sure if I will ever be able to resolve my problem myself. Though I might be able to provide a small sample ts.
To be honest, I hoped that I would not need to search for a solution myself. I am only a simple user and not an expert.
I hoped and still hope that some expert already has tested and confirmed a solution for this kind of ts material and would share his knowledge.
[Edit]
@setarip_old
Did the link I provided help you resolve your problem? After some studies of posts 5921, 5929!, 5932, etc. my answer is _no_!
Post 5929 (by setarip_old ) reports: "... dragged and dropped a .M2TS... but option 'Create 3D anaglyph' greyed out..."
Posts 5932 & 5921 indicate: "... to play the upcoming 3D Blu-ray titles ... mpls needed!..."
Thus, I conclude that there is no support for DVB-S2 TS :(
I expected to find an option to manually switch-on 'Create 3D anaglyph' for a TS or M2TS. Isn't there?

Since all experts seem to be on vacation, please allow me simple, non-expert user some comment:
I do not know whether multiAVCHD is intended to support HDV files, but I did a quick user's test with your sample.
These are my results:
1. When I add your sample, I renamed it to "HDVOriginal.m2ts" and then clicked "properties" in the app...and then it did _not_ crash. But I was not able to produce a working AVCHD. The poster image in the Main menu was distorted and the AVCHD played a green video.
2. tsMuxeR_1.10.6 (multiAVCHD uses it internally) does not like your m2ts. Error message: "Unsupported format... Some (in fact _all_) tracks not recognized...)
3. Simple workaround:
3.1 Demux your HDVOriginal.m2ts using "MeGUI>Tools>HD Streams Extractor" yields
-> video elementary stream: T1_Video - .mkv (still packed in mkv container)
-> audio elementary stream: T2_Audio - .mp2, rename to T1.mp2
-> log info: T1_Video - - Log.txt
3.2 Demux T1_Video - .mkv using tsMuxeR_1.10.6 into T1.mpv
3.3 Remux the elementary streams, T1.mpv & T1.mp2, using tsMuxeR_1.10.6 to T1.m2ts
3.4 Feed T1.m2ts from step 3.3 into multiAVCHD and it works like a charm! Resulting AVCHD plays well in Nero9 ShowTime, Nero Kwik Media, PowerDVD11, with correct poster image.
(The above demuxing and muxing steps 3.1, 3.2, 3.2 are very quick, practically copy-speed each!
Maybe demuxing wit eac3to would be a better choice as steps 3.1 and 3.2. But I do not know how to properly use eac3to.)
Please remember that multiAVCHD stricktly needs a special Avisynth, ffdshow and haali splitter installation procedure and specific, fairly old versions of these tools in order to work correctly (see post 5809):
Avisynth 2.58
ffdshow_rev3054_20090804_clsid
MatroskaSplitter_1.9.42.1 (Haali)
Please also remember that there is a small tool multiTEST to check user PC Directshow capabilities (see post 5769). All four tests should pass for good results.
You will find some more important infos in post 1 and the 'Guide' mentioned in the beginning of post1 in this thread.
Good luck!

Hi ! I've been using the program for many months but yesterday, I've encountered a real bug. I open BDMV folder and all files were added fine except for one thing. The main movie contained 3 audio tracks (an English DTS-HD Master, an English AC-3/5.1 and a French AC-3/2) but only one were recognized, the DTS-HD. The other two had disappeared ! I have not changed, nor tweaked any settings prior to open the BDMV folder. All other films worked great but this one, Godd Will Hunting, gives me this issue. Any hints to resolve it ? Thanks in advance.
UPDATE: Here's what I did as a workaround. I took what multiAVCHD gave me, i.e., only one audio track to which I add a .srt file for subtitles and the 2 missing audio tracks which had been previously demuxed with tsMuxeR 1.10.6. That did the trick: audio were sync and subs too.;)

Sorry for the vague title. Let me first warn whoever helps me, I'm a novice with multiAVCHD...I know what I need to know for what I use it for. I've never had issues with multiAVCHD until today. I threw my video files into it, changed the background pic, start the process...choose Bluray disc as my output then get an error message. "failure to read file (c:\multiavchd\_temp\multi temp blah blah\tsmuxerjob.txt) Line 85". Followed by "Access violation at address 01FA35F4 in module calclib.dll. Read of address 00001C1D - Line 57" Sorry I know that's probably a bunch of nonsense. I tried manually deleting my temp files, but I can't delete the most recent one created today of the project I'm trying to create. I also reinstalled multiAVCHD. When I click Ok to the two errors, multiAVCHD closes then takes me to another blank multiAVCHD window. Any help on this is greatly appreciated...I apologize if this issue was already mentioned/solved...but I couldn't find anything.

I'm having a similar problem with one particular file. I created an .srt file and for some reason, the multiavchd program was actually erasing the srt file. I have a backup of the file and it fails to create the project, and if I try to run the project again, it will give me an error like you are getting and when I check the .srt file is empty. I've looked and I can't find anything wrong with the .srt file.

You don't mention your desired output, but perhaps try to convert it to a .sup file with easySUP ( for AVCHD/Blu-ray output ).
If the project will complete successfully when the .srt file is omitted, the .srt file is corrupt in some manner. :(

I actually did do that, but I hated the black background that it produced on the subtitles. I much prefer the transparent background. I couldn't figure out a way to get transparent backgrounds with easySUP. Is there a way to do that?

I have lots of 720 x 480 h264 TS files and I selected the "Auto" chapter option. In the Chapter preview picture the thumbnails are blank - the times are there but there's no pictures. Even if I load a chapter file the pictures still don't show. They also don't show on the finished disc.
I then did the same thing with an MPEG2 file and it worked.
So it looks like you can't get thumbnails with H264 TS files. Is this correct or is there something I'm doing wrong? I tried enabling or disabling the "use MPEG2 for menu encoding" option but it made no difference. Also TS, M2TS, MP4 or MKV doesn't make a difference.

hello,
I am running Win7 64 bit and multiAVCHD and mostly using it to make AVCHD or BD from TV recordings in HD.
For all recordings made from free to air programs in 720p everything works fine.
If using a recording from a pay TV program (encyrpted) in 1080i, I can add the video file to multiAVCD but as soon I check the file to set chapters and so on, I get an error message "AVSInfo.exe" and the pop up screen shows no picture of the film.
http://www.diekuhls.de/AVSinfo_failed.JPG
and the pop up screen shows no picture of the film.
http://www.diekuhls.de/pop_up_screen_blank.JPG
If trying to produce a AVCHD or BD from that, the preparation fails when making the thumbnails or video sequences for the menue.
I have no idea and didnīt find any log file to find any further information about that problem.
Does anybody has an idea what this can come from?
Any help is welcome!

I am having the same issue as realcams. I have reinstalled windows, and to no avail. I was even one of the few people that donated to Dean for this program. I am beyond frustrated that he has abandoned it, and that the site has pretty much been taken down due to spam. If someone can please post the URL's of the version that used to work under windows 7 64 bit, that would be awesome. I bought authoring works 5, but multiavchd is still a superior program and I want to get back to using it. Every file I load into the program gives the avsinfo crash. Please help?

The broadcast streams are encrypted, I can view the untouched ".ts" stream i.e. with VLC player without any problem.
Any idea how I am able to detect what multiAVCHD (or better AVSinfo.exe) "donīt like" in these streams?

It's been a long time since I last used multiAVCHD so I can't be of much help (I too wish Dean would start working on it again).
AVSinfo.exe is not really needed. It can be deleted or renamed to something else (I chose BVSinfo.exe). AVSinfo.exe is located in the "tools" folder of multiAVCHD.

Thank you BZ. I renamed the AVSinfo, but then x264 and avs4x264 was crashing. But then I downloaded a copy of FFMS2, and moved the exe and the updated dll file into the tools directory, and x264 no longer crashes when I go to preview. It will also encode now. Hi RanmaCanada,
thanks for that idea.
What in detail did you update from FFMS2?
Made same and updated the three files contained
- FFMS2.avsi
- ffms2.dll
- ffmsindex.exe
to the \tools folder.
But no change, x264 is still crashing.
Many thanks and kindest regards

I found it pretty easy to do this. There are a LOT of confusing uptions in multiAVCHD, though the author does try to help with descriptions when you hover above an option.
But essentially, to change the audio tracks without altering the menus, most of the options in multiAVCHD don't apply or do anything at all. All you have to do is throw your BDMV folder on the program, switch to "re-author mode", look at the audio streams for the title you are interested in, remove/add what you want, and push START. Pretty fast too. (end of worst user's guide to multiAVCHD)

multiAVCHD has not been updated in quite some time, and it has some issues with certain type of authored Blu-rays, usually multi-m2ts titles and ones with two versions of the movie on one disc. :(
You should be using BD-RB, it will allow you to blank titles and audio that you don't want and will do full backups to BD-25, BD9 and BD5. :)

Well this is strange. I was using multiavchd just fine a month ago, but now suddenly when I go to start the app it fails to start properly. The loading screen comes up, but then I get this weird calculator/spreadsheet icon on my task bar and nothing else. I mouse over the icon and it says "multiavchd v4.1 (build 770)". When I click on the icon nothing happens. There is no visible window on my desktop. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling. Nothing changed. I am running Windows 7 (64bit).
Anyone have any thoughts what might be causing this? Other than some windows updates, I can't think of anything that has changed since I last used the program without incident.

Workaround:
Create MultiAVCHD compilation.
In the "Title name: PART 1" or whatever your title is named.
Fire up the output in your media player.
Take full size screendumps of each background menu title, in my project 3 titles.
Use your image editing software and open the 3 different screendumps.
Create 3 new title text layers with the font you want to use, (the font that MultiAVCHD couldn't display).
Align the new title text layers where you want them, on top of each MultiAVCHD title text screendump.
Open MultiAVCHD and import the 3 new background images, one for each title.
Works like a charm! Problem solved! Lots of creative fun! :D

I decided to put some DVD series on a single BD, for laziness.
I did this once and it worked ok.
I tried today, after a long pause, to repeat the performance.
My findings:
no audio delay considered when there is one (the first BD had all at 0 this is why I haven't noticed it)
most subtitles were not recognized (like importing 24/781) - again due to the lack of subtitles in the previous BD I couln't notice it
It appears that this subject was not addressed, no audio delay on DVD appeared on this forum in junction with multiavchd.
Any ideas?
PS: I tried to recover the subtitles from a correctly remuxed episode (apart from the audio delay) but tsmuxer upscaled them to 1080p24 from 576i50 when instructed to demux them. Go figure :(

Hi!
Cinavia in no way interferes with or limits copying or converting any type of file(s).
Cinavia's "claim to fame" is that if you copy a disc that contains Cinavia protection, any and all copies that you make will also contain Cinavia.

Update to these findings:
I used the old school approach, I demuxed all the streams of all the episodes with pgcdemux (noted the delays), I converted by hand all the subtitles to BD SUPs with BDsub2sup, reimported in multiavchd, again by hand, one by one, and set the corresponding audio delays.
So far so good. But the audio delay issues have been not solved. I don't have right now the paper, but the first episode had a 0ms delay, now 0ms, the second had again 0ms, after remuxing it had -80ms, the third had 424 before, some 360 after, another one had -8ms, after -80ms and so on. It looks like something like -80ms rounded to the next integer has automatically been added.
The episodes come from commercial DVDs so authoring or encoding errors may safely be excluded.
Searches in this forum revealed that both tsmuxer and multiavchd can cope with delays. I am now confused about the actual cause .... and solution :(
