Tried it a couple of times, with the same result, and decided to rebuild the disc in MultiAVCHD from scratch. Dropped in the VID_00262.AVS.264 video file from BD-RB's temp directory and noticed MultiAVCHD doesn't really like those .264 files for some reason. It doesn't show a preview in Properties and seems to be guessing about movie length. Anyways, it allowed me to drop in the two DTS-HD MA tracks, one english .sup track and start the compilation process. But almost instantly I saw this in the log window:

MultiAVCHD says it's not receiving any data from tsMuxeR at first, but then went on processing the compilation (with that stupid 4GB media split, argh!). What's going on here, I wonder...
Update: Things are getting screwier. I uninstalled MultiAVCHD from drive D: and installed it on C: for which I needed to run the installer as Admin. MultiAVCHD ran from C: even worse, plenty of weird errors and crashes, even when run as Admin. So, another uninstall, followed by a new install on D:. This time I ran the installer as Admin (didn't do that the first time), and started MultiAVCHD as Admin, too. Dragging & dropping a BDMV directory in MultiAVCHD did... nothing. MultiAVCHD does not ask about re-authoring; nothing happens.
What the heck?

I am trying to put together a compilation of m2ts tracks with mAVCHD. Two tracks were first reencoded with BR-RB. mAVCHD has problems with one track and is giving me wrong asprect ratio - even when I open the track and look in the menu "alter detected propertes" - everything is fine there. Is there a way to patch the header of the file? Or what is wrong? TSmuxer - by the way - is showing the correct AR!

Oopos! I forgot I had installed mediainfo once - in german - and I did not know mAVCHD is also using mediainfo. Would you suggest to de-install it? And also: when I load the track in mAVCHD and open it - it takes forever (only with this file!) and I first have to change the fps to 23.976. Then it opens quickly. But the AR seems to be F*** up :-)

OK Here goes... first of all i passed the 4 tests in the conversion tester...
now what i am trying to do...
I am using BD_Rebuilder to convert my bluerays to 4-5g file size movie only.
I am then using your AVCHD program to convert those files into standard VIDEO_TS files using the SD_DVD option.
Everything was working great untill about 10 days ago or so... i had converted over 100 blu-rays with no problem.
now after a recent rash of updates i can no longer encode with the audio being in sync witht the movie..
I have done over 100 bluray conversions with no problem but I must admit i am new at this and dont fully understand how to fix this problem.
Any help getting back to easy mode would greatly be appreciated.
P.S. When i play the downconverted 000000.m2ts file created with bd_Rebuilder everything is still in sync
P.S.S. also some of you may ask why i am doing this? I have a media player on my home automation system that integrates all my movies into the system. here is a link to the spec sheet http://www.control4.com/uploads/Products/product_49/Control4_Media_Player.pdf
this is the only way i have found to get my movies to work in the system. If i am doing something wrong or going about this wrong and there is a better way by all means please point me in the right direction. the reason i am doing this is i only have 4tb available and over 500 blurays in my collection so i am figuring about 5gb per movie in space untill i can get more available
I posted in both forums cause i wasnt sure which you prefered.

Hi! I am using BD_Rebuilder to convert my bluerays to 4-5g file size movie only.
I am then using your AVCHD program to convert those files into standard VIDEO_TS files using the SD_DVD option.
Are you aware that, in light of the fact that you are creating "Movie only" files, there is no need to first compress your original BluRay files with BD Rebuilder?
MultiAVCHD can do the compressing and conversion to Standard DVD all at once...

@Deank: Never mind, I have re-encoded the track with multiAVCHD - now it seems to work with the correct AR. Probably BR-DB screwed things up. By the way: the original track was encoded in MPEG2, probably that is the reason, who knows.....

I know that subtitle files aren't that big, but sometimes blanking some of them (with some more things) is just what a blu-ray needs to fit in a BD-25.
In reauthor mode there's only the option to remove subtitles, but not just blank them (as happens with audio), so if I want to keep subtitle 1 and 5 then, subtitle 5 will end as subtitle #2 if I don't insert three external dummy subtitles when removing subtitles 2, 3 and 4... Could it be possible to add an option to blank subtitles?
Thanks and greetings

I'd still like to know how to set up CoreAVC correctly, though.
Why are you using coreAVC? Is your graphics card using the latest Nvidia GPU chipset?
If so, you need to look at DGDecNV (http://www.neuron2.net/dgdecnv/dgdecnv.html)
It is, IMHO, a better GPU serving program that works perfectly with AVISynth.
If you aren't using a Nvidia GPU chipset, nevermind!

deank, I have been experimenting with Carousel motion menus on some AVCHD backups. The style is appealing to me, as it also resembles many Blu-ray menus.
However, I was wondering if it is possible to have that same type of menu that will only display the words for buttons, without the black border at the bottom of the menu?
This way, it would display the full motion menu video on screen, with only the words visible as the button selections.
Also, I have a project with 5 imported mpls/videos. The first in the list is set to hidden, since I want it to be played only at disc start and not included in the menu.
After this first hidden video plays, I want to go to the main menu, for selection of the other four titles. However, my project will only start at the main menu, no intro hidden title ever plays.
What do I need to do or set to make a title play first when a disc is started, instead of the menu, and after this titles ends it goes to the menu?

Take a look at:
.\multiAVCHD\templates\res\Carousel\
There is a file: CM_bott.bmp which is the bottom strip. Edit/resize it to 1x1 and you'll get rid of the bottom line.
About the menu:
[x] Skip top menu playback will make your player play the hidden/first title and then go to the menu.

I'm wanting to convert a blu-ray to AVCHD and I want to keep the menus as well. I don't want to have to recreate the menus from scratch.
I don't want BD5/BD9 either or I'd just use BDRB.
Will this program work for that?
Capsbackup

If it is not BD5/9, is it BD25/-R/RE?
What is your playback method, PC, standalone, etc...?
You can use multiAVCHD in re-author mode to keep the Blu ray structure with menus, etc... and if you are burning to BD-R/RE you may not have to reencode all files, only some to fit BD25.
AVCHD, typically to BD5/9 media, will need to be reencoded to a lower bitrate per AVCHD specs for standalone playback. PC playback is more forgiving.
So, yes it will work for that, and depending on your method of playback, will determine what steps from multiAVCHD you will need to perform.

Why AVCHD (written to BD25)?
The answer to your question is simple - use BD-Rebuilder to get Blu-ray backup. There is no point in creating AVCHD disc, especially when using BD media.

I know that you are currently functioning (the program silly, not you), but the answer to your query (for the interest of potentially others), is to use a program like Photoshop and change the canvas size to a width of 1 and a height of 1. Any image editing program that can change the canvas size and/or the image size can be used.
Sounds like this might want to be a checkbox in the future: [x] display menu button underline

Some improvements in the latest build (you'll need to use multiUPDATE.exe):
* Download (http://www.iol.ie/~schubert/AVSInfo.zip)this nice small (50kb) CLI tool from another doom9 user (Groucho2004) (link to the post) (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=154870) and extract AVSInfo.exe in your multiAVCHD\tools folder. This may greatly improve the speed for all image processing/visualization in multiAVCHD. Until now x264 was used for executing avisynth scripts and sometimes caused 'x264 crashed' errors, but with avsinfo it shouldn't happen. Plus, it is much faster and doesn't need colorspace conversion at the end of each avs script. The tool is included in the full-download.
* Small fix: menu font color setting will be available even when [-] Create top menu is not selected (useful for title-list menu setting when no main top menu is created).
* Fixed: sometimes the crop zone when using zoom (%H) in [transcode] window will cause slight AR distortion. It is fixed now + some more zoom %s.

Hi Dean,
I only noticed now that you're bundling my utility with your software. No problem there but what exactly are you using it for? I only wrote this tool to display clip properties and the speed of scripts.

I'm using it to execute avisynth scripts in multiAVCHD, to generate subtitle PNGs (from avisynth scripts) in goSUP and multiAVCHD.
Before I was using x264 to execute scripts, but avsinfo is faster, since it doesn't do frame-lookahead, loads quickly, doesn't need YV12 colorspace conversion and uses less memory and is just 50kb. :)

Important note for the latest update:
The value for Non-HD audio bitrate in Subtitles&Audio tab is now used in different manner. I think pio011 or daberti asked for a similar function
* Default value is 640. You may want to check your setting and put 640 there.
* During processing of SD audio tracks multiAVCHD will check their bitrate against the one set in "Non-HD audio..." box. If audio bitrate is > then the one set, it will be re-encoded. If bitrate is < it will be left alone or IF re-encoding is required (in case of AAC/MP3...) multiAVCHD will use the closest/lowest bitrate possible and will not use Non-HD audio bitrate value.
For example:
Non-HD audio bitrate: [448]
1) Source audio: AC3 640kbps will be re-encoded to 448kbps
2) Source audio: MP3 320kbps will be re-encoded to AC3 320kbps (and not to 448 as set in Non-HD audio box).
3) Source audio: AC3 384kbps will not be re-encoded

You should use this for that purpose:
http://www.iol.ie/~schubert/avsexec.zip
This has no user interface (apart from messageboxes for error handling) and just steps through a script frame by frame.
Also, it uses the proper Avisynth API and not VFW.

There is a bug in avsexec.exe. It will not accept a file if parsed as "file.avs", but will work with file.avs. "file name.avs" works, too. I believe the quote symbols when there is no space in file/path causes troubles.

Sigh!
In multiAVCHD all terms are media-related, so there is no such thing as BD5/BD9, but DVD5/DVD9 discs, SDHC, USB/HDD sticks and disks, BD25/BD50 discs, etc.

I don't know where this quote was found (this forum or Dean's forum), but my question about it is this: if one lets multiAVCHD look for a new version, does it grab the complete distribution or just the multiAVCHD piece?
If not, can multiAVCHD be told to grab everything in order to install any new programs, like AVSInfo.exe?

multiUPDATE.exe updates multiAVCHD.exe only. I can't afford full update of all tools during the update process.
Either way, multiAVCHD rarely requires full-download (may be once in 2-3 months) + the download link is to videohelp.com (http://download.videohelp.com/deanbg/multiAVCHD_4.1.exe) and the download speed is okay, without ads, banners, waiting time, etc.

If you were thinking that I was implying that you were using the term within multiAVCHD, I wasn't. Sorry if I misled. The sigh is because so often words are used to describe things/actions that are incorrect.
Another example is when one uses their video camera to go film something, or that they were filming their vacation. I'd like to see those people put film in their video camcorders. :D Hell, with most of today's video cameras you can't even video tape either. :D

Well, it's like the old CompuServe/Genie/AOL "You've got mail" notice (back in the 90s) which definitely was for an e-mail message and not for a peek into the snail-mail box. :)

There is a bug in avsexec.exe. It will not accept a file if parsed as "file.avs", but will work with file.avs. "file name.avs" works, too. I believe the quote symbols when there is no space in file/path causes troubles.
Ooops, fixed. Please re-download.

Thanks. I'll do some tests to check if there is any speed difference and if there is, I'll replace avsinfo with avsexec.
Thanks for looking into it.

multiUPDATE.exe updates multiAVCHD.exe only.
So, what does multiUPDATE.exe update do that multiAVCHD.exe doesn't, or vice-versa?
Here comes another silly question... if a user isn't an avid reader of either forum, how would that person know to go and download AVSInfo.exe if the autoupdate of multiAVCHD doesn't go and get it?
Now I'm really confused. I went to add AVSinfo to my multiAVCHD tools and there was an older version already there.

Hi! (NOT about HD-DVD for a change ;>})
I'm sure I'm overlooking something obvious but, in the audio settings, is there an option to extract the DTS core from a DTS-MA audiostream of an .MT2S or .MKV file?

I don't know why you decided that you need avsinfo.exe. I added it into the package more than a month ago. Without it multiAVCHD will work too (it checks if it is there and uses it, otherwise it uses the tools it used before).
If one is not an avid user/reader, he'll get a message in the LOG if a tool is required or an option will be 'grayed-out' if a tool is missing - OR - one can always download the complete package and OVERWRITE the installation he has.

Click the title-name in Media TAB (or click [properties]). There is an AUDIO tab where you have [x] Core only option.

The option is per-track, not per-title and available only when HD audio stream is selected.
