Thanks again for such a handy tool. I too am waiting for Panasonic SD Card Plasma display support. I would love to help you test this as I'm assuming you don't have direct access to the hardware itself. I was able to make by hand a sample video that played back quite well, but I really want to use your tool to automate things.

@MMtracker: Thanks :)
About menu colors - I described it earlier in this thread. The color chosen for title names is used for top (headline) and bottom (credits) texts in the menu pages. Headline uses ~30% less luminosity of the titles' color and credits texts use ~60% less. It was by design.
When adding files - their order depends in part on Windows and the way you select them. I can make them get sorted before showing up in media tab. You can always use UP/DOWN to rearrange them (if you're not adding AVCHD folders)
@Bakafish: You're right, unfortunately my panasonic (42py85) has SD slot, but doesn't support AVCHD. Fortunately, Playstation3 recognizes the format used for TVs so I guess I'll make it work.
If someone can send me such (SD) samples of 1920x1080 and 1280x720 videos - I'll appreciate it.

could I simply replace the new m2ts with the old m2ts and doing some playlist+clpi editing?
and why should I not have 23 subtitles? ;-)

and why should I not have 23 subtitles? ;-)
Maybe because you dont speak 23 languages? Or you dont have in your home (HOME ENTERTAINMENT) people of 23 different languages?

Can you combine clips together for only one entry on the title listing? I've been able to do this by using my camera to remove files to mave a specific AVCHD folder, but the camera won't add files to the listing from another source. For example, I have 10 clips of skiing that I'd like to lump together, but retain the chapter capability of forwarding to the next clip that happens when it's treated as an AVCHD folder. Maybe there's another tool that does this that can be used to make AVCHD folders that then multi AVCHD can use?
Most of my clips are in the 50-100 Meg size range, so I can't fill up a disc and still have them all in the menu without combining files into one file entry.
Thanks!

Hi deank,
first thanks for this incredible tool. This was exactly the tool I was looking for. You got my donation some days ago, but I have to wait these 5 days before I can post anything.
So there is one little addition I like to see in a future version. Because I'm a collector of TV series I like to arrange every season on a seperate menu page. This means for example if the series has two seasons with each ten episodes I like to have the ten episodes of season one on page 1 and the second season on the second page and so on.
And as a final touch it would be great to give each menu page a seperate backdrop image.
This is actually not possible because every menu page has 14 entries (If I'm right).
So maybe it's possible for you to find a way that I can arrange my series like that.
Thank you for thinking about it. :)
Greetings, PixelPipe

A bit later I will release a new version. It would require DAT update or complete download.
It allows creating additional menu type with 4 pages with 7 static thumbnails - again total of 28 titles. For thumbnail generation you need to have directshow filters that allow you to play the files you add to the compilation.

Quick note on latest build
ver 2.4 build 391 (DAT ver 2.4.390)
multiAVCHD.dat update is required (link is in 1st post)
New menu option with 4 pages with 7 titles displaying thumbnails of title videos. To use this option you will need x264/avisynth/directshow filter and splitter - ones that play your input videos (in other words ffdshow and haali media splitter will do the job).
While compiling menu pages you may notice multiple icons appearing/disappearing in your taskbar space (usually ffdshow/mediasplitter).
Please share your experience with the new option on Authoring tab.
Enjoy,
Dean
p.s. Latest full download contains latest version of tsmuxer (thanks again to ~bt~). It should resolve know issues with HD audio tracks (TrueHD)

Just as in the previous time we had to download the DAT, I can't seem to complete the file, it stops at 99,98%!!
Can you upload it on another server?
Cheers!

Hi Dean, you may have read in other threads by now but TSMuxer was updated yersterday to fix the TrueHD issue. .clpi issues still remain but it's a start. You can download the newest .exe from here (ftp://213.221.6.90/tsMuxer/). It's an .exe only update but the 1.8.8 GUI works with it.

@jdeiro: There are 2 links. Sorry - I can't provide any other feed.
@idbirch: Thanks. ~bt~ PM'd me earlier today. I didn't follow all threads and I missed it. Thanks anyway. I just lost 2 days making navigational arrows of the new menu go where I want and I had zero time to read other threads.
@nwg: I do hope it will work for you, too. :)

edit: A known issue with latest build with thumbnails-menu is inability to switch menu pages once the last menu page is reached. I lost a day with this but decided to release this build anyway. I'm working on it now.

You're welcome.
A little update (392) fixes problems with last page navigation if thumbnails are used.
@nwg: Yes, if verbose logging is enabled, you should see log messages before creating thumbnails.

Thumbnails work great:)
Excuse the out of focus pic. My Blu Ray is on a projector so it is hard to get a good close up pic.

I did notice it uses the down arrow to go from one title to the next. Makes sense as it is easier than using all to navigate.

'Delete temp files' is and was checked, but the m2ts files inside the stream folders are still there. Other already existing files outside the newly created, numbered folders were deleted. Curious....

I found a way to generate thumbnails without using filters or splitters. Let me do some tests and if it works I'll post back.
mplayer is required for it to work and generation of 7 thumbnails takes about half a second instead 20-30 when using splitters and directshow filters.

Hi deank, I really liked this new thumbnail feature :)
Is it possible, in the future, to think displaying only one thumbnail corresponding to the 'active' title (that has the arrow upon) ?
What are the future plans for a somehow 'registered' version ? I think you agree that not saving the header/footer title and font is a bit annoying. Thanks for your efforts again !
deank
19th February 2009, 20:39
I don't understand your first question.
About the registered version - each build of multiAVCHD expires at certain point and won't start at all. All people who donated 10EUR or more will receive emails if I decide to move forward to a registered version... I'm not thinking of this right now.
vpapanik
19th February 2009, 20:54
I mean to show the menu with text (as in the previous version), and show only one thumbnail corresponding to the title that is currently selected.
deank
19th February 2009, 21:32
I still don't understand... If you mean 14 titles with their names with 14 thumbnails - simply there is not enough space on screen to fit all.
**
Build 398
Thumbnail generation no longer requires external filters/splitters. mplayer from tools folder is used to create them. Generating 28 thumbnails for 4 pages takes less than 10 seconds compared to about a minute using directshow.
If you never downloaded the complete package but only updated multiAVCHD and your DAT file - you won't have mplayer, so you'll need to download Setup_multiAVCHD_v2.4.exe from first post. If you already have mplayer in your tools folder - you don't need to do anything.
Dean
p.s. I hope MacOS users are satisfied now :)

Strange thing is that I get the same error :)
And I think it is because mplayer does strange things.
If I start multiAVCHD directly (double clicking the .EXE) - it all works.
If I use the shortcut I have on my desktop - it gives the error.
Are you using a shortcut to multiAVCHD.exe?
miloka

deank
19th February 2009, 23:49
It works here... I'll see what I can do to make mplayer does the right thing..
And another thing - looking at your screenshot - TARGET folder doesn't seem right... you need to have something like X:\AVCHD\ not just \AVCHD\ without the drive specification.
Does it work that way?!

I'm had the same problem using the program for the first time using your guide. Since it was the first time I ran the program I launched it directly, not through a shortcut. I do have avisynth installed (I'm using it in MeGUI, so I'm sure it's working). I'm running Vista, so I wonder if a permissions issue with UAC could be at issue...
Excellent program BTW! I want to donate as soon as I get some extra scratch (February is a short month for paydays).

Hi,
ever since 2.4 i cant create multiAVCHD's on mac/crossover :(
i keep getting the fWrite error at the end and the program quits right before finishing the whole compilation
at "compiling menu files...99%" maybe it finishes that and then the crash happens....
- im not using the new feature with thumbnails..
Thanks.
Edit: maybe we can try and fix that fwrite again?
where do you use that in your program? what arguments do you give it? maybe it has to do with the way the volumes are mounted in crossover...

some questions
1. I got a

with anydvd hd
2. how to edit the language tag directly in the m2ts file?
I can modify the .clpi, the playlist and the bdmv via bdedit/clipinf-editor+fix but cannot edit the m2ts.. :-(

somehow it does not work , even on direct way with exe.
Update to 399. I think it will be all OK now. The problem is with mplayer. Problem arises when output (target) folder is different than the one multiAVCHD runs from. I did some tests and it works fine now. Please post back if it is okay with your configuration.
@asherungar: Is there a LINE: xxxx in the error message you get?
@joerg-daniel: Both your questions are UNrelated to this thread!
