Yup, disabling precisely VP9 (DXVA) in Video Decoders, fixed the playback issue.

One question.
I had never heard of DXVA Checker until you mentioned about it. My machine has integrated Intel HD 530 and dedicated NVIDIA Quadro M1000M, as you have already seen from the screenshots.
Why does DXVA Checker display info only about Intel HD 530 and nothing about NVIDIA Quadro?

Why does DXVA Checker display info only about Intel HD 530 and nothing about NVIDIA Quadro?Because it is inactive. Also, laptops have a hybrid graphics, in which there are many nuances.

Being that I am close to making MPC-BE my default player, I'd appreciate if someone could be honest: is there anything at all that MPC-HC is better at?

Not that I've been able to find. Maybe stability, since regular updates aren't happening at the moment. MPC-BE seems to be a more complex piece of software under the hood, and it's updated more often (both stable and nightlies) so it's not surprising to see more reports of bugs. The bugs are fixed very quickly, though, so not really a problem.
MPC-HC used to update its internal LAV filters with new features in the LAV nightlies, but that's obviously not happening anymore. Since LAV filters are external in MPC-BE, you can use the LAV nightlies yourself (very useful right now if you use HDR sources).
I made the switch a couple of months ago and don't see any reason to go back.

For any software, it's support that matters the most.
MPC BE development guys have taken support to the next level. You cannot beat their blazing fast bug fixes. I have never seen them denying any request unless it is technically unfeasible. These are some humble guys. Their commitment to this software is really amazing. Kudos to them.

There are at least a couple of major things for me:
1. MPC-HC has working DVB-T implementation.
2. MPC-HC can automatically download subtitles for you.
3. In MPC-HC I can set different values of audio delay for each resolution.
4. User interface in MPC-HC may not be the prettiest, but it's consistent. MPC-BE looks unfinished because some elements (like playlist) look very different than the main window.
Please correct me if anything changed because this is based on a ~last year comparison.

Is the automatic subtitle downloading and download manager coming to BE at some point? I'm talking about the functionality that MPC-HC has.
Now that Eventghost remote control works with BE, this is the single issue left that's keeping me from using this player.

Personally I don't think it's a big issue to manually download/place/resync subs if you need it, but it's up to you.

Hey fellas I was a MPC-HC user for past five years or so, but as its stopped development I switched to MPC-BE and I just one or two queries.
You see audio is an important thing to me, so in MPC-HC I simply used the Normalise option, so for the movies/shows it used to equalise the loudness, which was a great feature for me. But in MPC-BE I can't see any such option, could anyone help me find it? I do see an Auto volume control option but I don't think its the same.
I do love the Mix channels to 7.1 option though, freaking awesome.
Thanks in advance.

Has anybody played protected DVDs on MPC-BE/HC? I often get garbled video or no video or macrovision failed errors with identical playbacks. I'm wondering what's up here. Win10_64 1709.
Also, does anybody notice that DXVA/CUDA/QVS playback loses sync when using 64x lav? It happens even with internal filters, but doesn't happen with software. When I playback at 2x speed for an hour, I notice that lip movements don't line up with the voice, but the information toolbar think's it's synced. I think it has something to do with the x64 dss2 avs filter showing 24000/1001 fps video as 10000000/417083 fps when using DXVA/CUDA/QVS. Who do I even talk to about this, considering that even internal filters in MPC-BE are affected?

It is important what video renderer is used. For example, Haali renderer has problems with Macrovision. Everything should be normal on the standard settings.
If DVD-Video is in the ISO file, then the DVD emulator type is of importance. If I remember correctly, then I had problems with DAEMON Tools Lite.

If A/V desync happened only with LAV Video Decoder in DXVA mode - problem in LAV Video Decoder. If it's happened with internal filters too - show you filter list while playback.

Yeah, I found that out too, but I don't even have Haali installed. I've used System Default all the way down to the Sync Renderer (with all bit-depths on custom presenter), and I'm still having this problem.
Just to be clear on the method: I am playing a css-encrypted, commercial DVD through an internal DVD drive with bus encryption. When I rip, mount the iso, and then play what's mounted, the playback is correct.
I take it that nobody has this problem. I'm due for a fresh install of Windows anyways, so that'll probably fix it.

You're right. I just checked internal DXVA h264 again and it seems that I was wrong the first time -- I will take this report to a more appropriate place. Sorry.

Is there a problem with the YouTube viewer code that is preventing 1080p60 video from working? I'm just getting 720p30 now on most 1080p60 stuff.
Example YouTube video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7OaLCKwPt28
I've tried both 1.5.2 (build 3148) Beta and also 1.5.2 (build 3261) Beta and both feed me 720p30 video.
In the YouTube section of the options I've set "Use the built-in web page parser" and have set it to MP4 and 1080p with 60FPS checked.
Interesting. Here's a video that does 1080p60 no problem: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TOi1FxlsPAg

Basic resolutions(360p, 720p, 1080p)are always provided in both H.264 and VP9 formats by Youtube himself to avoid compatibility issues(like browsers without/disabled VP9 support, smartphone without VP9 hardware decoding, etc.)

Does anyone of you know how to set the image scaling in MPC BE the same as in MPC HC? My point is that the native resolution of the opened video should be opened in 1: 1 aspect ratio, and in full screen mode it would adjust to the width of the screen. After clicking on the stop, the window has to return to its default size, ie a small square with the logo inside. In MPC HC, I have no problem with these settings, in MPC BE something is not good.
