The new "online" label is too long which hides the line on the right. Everywhere else it is fine.

Does anyone know why this happens:
1. Pause video in MPC-BE
2. Get Chrome notification (e.g., Checker Plus for Gmail), click on it
3. Video in MPC-BE starts playing again despite having received no user input

It looks like the frames are not arranged correctly, their time stamps are mixed up.
Official MPEG-TS does not have this problem.

It is quite possible that Martin himself once made changes to reproduce non-standard VVC data in TS.

I'm fairly new to MPC VR and admittedly haven't followed super closely to the devlopment. But how do you (or can you) get Dolby Vision to pass through to your display with Windows? I'm using Windows 10 with a 6600 XT and have an LG C1 OLED connected with an HDMI 2.1 cable.

But how do you (or can you) get Dolby Vision to pass through to your display with Windows?
DolbyVision is converted to something similar to HDR10 and sent to the display that way. Perhaps this is wrong, but users really asked for it.
You have an HDR display, look in the input properties to see what actually comes to it.

There are no problems with old (but not very old) graphics. One user had a problem with the hybrid laptop graphics Intel Xe + RTX 4050. According to some signs, DXVA2 did not work for him. That’s why I wanted to know how things are going on desktop graphics, where there are no hybrid glitches.

Hi, on W10 is it possible to have two different MPC Renderer "installations" so to have two different renderer settings for two different portable MPC-BE players? I have one MPC-BE portable set up for my SDR 1080p monitor and the other for 4K HDR TV. For the monitor I would like to have "Convert to SDR" always on. But when I extend to my HDR TV I would like to have "Convert to SDR" always off because I have RTX HDR Video turned on. Thanks, fellas.
clsid
11th March 2024, 16:23
That is not possible and also not needed.
"Convert to SDR" only applies to HDR input. And if passthough is not possible/disabled.
"RTX HDR Video" only applies to SDR input.

Okay, that was just wishful thinking :-)
By the way, I really want to say thanks for MPC-BE and your new updated renderer. By supporting the new Nvidia RTX Super Rez & RTX HDR Video I can't believe how good 1080p SDR vids look on my 85" Sony 4K converted to HDR :-)

Oh wow, when I first tried it out for some reason the SDR content was being washed out in fullscreen on an HDR display so I unchecked "Convert to SDR" then it worked so I thought that was the problem/conflict. But now before typing out this post I checked it again with "Convert to SDR" enabled and now it didn't wash out and worked as I hoped it would. Thanks for making me check it again :-)

The only thing keeping me from using the MPC Video Renderer full time is it doesn't have motion smoothing for viewing on a 60hz monitor. Are there any plans to add it?
And also adding Jinc scaling for Chroma and all other scaling methods besides upscaling, which already supports it.

last time i talked about this the renderer couldn't look at two frames at the same time. making this impossible.

First we would like to see working patches that implement such functionality.
And also adding Jinc scaling for Chroma
This will greatly complicate the code and makes no sense. I checked.

i don't have high hopes for that scaler but how did you test?
best i can do right now is creating Cb/Cr as Y and scale that and compare that to other chroma scaler Cb/Cr rendered as Y but that's not the same and a ton of work.

@AngelGraves13 Explore matching refresh rates to the media you're watching.. e.g. 25 fps video, you can set your video refresh to 50 Hz. This will give you smooth motion.

I compared different chroma upscaling methods. After bicubic methods I did not see any fundamental difference. Perhaps there are special test patterns where you can see the advantage with a magnifying glass, but I’m not interested in that.
For general frame size increases, advanced techniques make sense.

i can do as much test as you like to proof that chroma scaling matter alot.
all of these image are real video images i can even share the source files if you want to play with them.
some of these images are just there to show that biliteral can fai nothing else.
the screen matters also a lot on my calibrated OLED i can tell the difference easily on my old nearly dead asus vg248qe with like 30000 red is show low brightness now it barely matters.
same scaler different strength: https://slow.pics/c/72JEh0DC

huhn, you should consider that the super-xbr 150 that you like makes reds too hot. Earlier today I thought, ok it's been awhile let's look at how it looks on old ntsc content. A scene of people dancing in red, red-orange jackets and sweaters with red pennants on the wall, they were practically day-glo. Real clothing is not that saturated.

I'm mostly watching 23.976 fps 4K UHD, and there's pretty bad judder at 60Hz. Mind you I'm watching the content on a 60Hz monitor, not a TV.
I guess I'll stick to madvr then.
