it should work fine with CUVID. AFAIK there is no 12 bit HEVC DXVA spec. maybe nev can use CUVID through his new custom D3D11 api.
I have not seen any evidence of this possibility.

HEVC and AVC lossless should work too.
you need a 1050 ti or smaller card which is a problem too

it the same clock as none bitstreaming.
don't use bitstreaming if you don't have to. A/V sync is pretty much a gamble with bitstreaming.

I used some features in ffmpeg using NVENC. But, again, I did not see that anyone could use the ability to hardware decode HEVC 12-bit in DirectShow players.
Maybe there are players who can do this, but I'm not aware of this.

OK, what thread can I ask further questions to this topic? Like to try create a custom 23p mode. -> http://madvr.com/crt/CustomResTutorial.html (Thanks for the link), what settings are the "best" when it comes to the needed numbers like front porch, sync width, back porch. Do I need any other number?

you should first read the tutorial there is nothing else you need and you would not ask question like this:
what settings are the "best" when it comes to the needed numbers like front porch, sync width, back porch.
it can be automated. after that you have to try them.
don't forget a huge number of screen are unable to do native 23p what so ever they support the input but they are unable to correctly output it this counts for for very expense screen too. so you should check your screen first for that or you are just wasting your time and 60hz + SM is clearly better.

Just thinking about it... why doesn't Nvidia itself provide a "cleaner" 23p mode. Intel hd4600 had a very nice 23p mode out of the box. Why does the user have to adjust and finetune it, the cards are expensive enough, so I think I can demand nice 23p out of the box without warning screens when entering custom mode menu.

you really don't get it right?
last comment on this topic here.
AMD and intel have the same problem the number only looks better but again it is just a number...
there are 3 clocks working here and they don't match on AMD on nvidia and even on intel. getting them match is pure luck no matter what. that why you usually need to recreate for all 3 GPU vendors a custom resolution because they can't match all clocks an planet earth. they are not accurate enough and they never will be and there are multiply way to get audio out of a PC system all have different clocks.
but feel free to demand some atom clock like precision.

Test on latest SVN - all fine, smooth playback, no drop or freezes.
Check windows & FSE mode, D3D9/D3D11.
Just tested latest build 2957 and filling up the 'present queue' is working great again !!
However, because of an issue I have with MPC-HC I noticed for the first time that in BE's taskbar there is always the GPU symbol/icon present although hardware decoding is active. Is this wanted this way ?
In PotPlayer one can even switch between H/W and S/W clicking on it.

Well, this may be true for developers and/or power users here who can identify and fix a (configuration ?) problem in seconds.
I am none of that so if BE would have 'warned' me that hardware decoding is inactive on a certain blu-ray that would have saved me some time and headaches.

It does not because it always shows GPU !!
MPC-HC immediately indicated [S/W] on this Blu-Ray !! So was PotPlayer but there it is also possible to switch between S/W and H/W and after switching the Blu-Ray played perfectly.
For me that is very helpful and not a toy.

Did you already figured out what caused this specific Blu ray to display GPU altough it wasn't using hardware acceleration? Did you use internal filters or external ones? What Codec is used for this specific Blu-ray: H.264, MPEG-2 or VC-1?
For me MPC-BE only shows GPU if hardware acceleration is indeed used.

OK, here are the working settings for 1080p screen:
madVR - zoom control:
- x disable scaling if image size changes by only: ... 25 lines or less
- x move subtitles: ... to bottom of the screen/window
- x auto detect hard coded black bars
- x notify media player about cropped black bars: ... no more than once every 2 sec
- x keep bars visible if they contain subtitles: ... forever
- x crop black bars
MPC-BE - Options:
- Subtitles:
-- Subtitle renderer: internal subtitle renderer
-- x Prefer external subtitles over embedded subtitles
-- x Use Subresync (this is an amazing feature from Gabest!)
- Subtitles - Rendering:
-- disable here: "Override placement"
-- Sub pictures to buffer: 10
-- Max texture resolution: Desktop
-- x Allow dropping some subpictures if the queue is running late
- Subtitles - Default Style:
-- Screen Alignement & Margins:
--- bottom middle
--- Left, Top, Right: 20
--- Bottom: 9
--- disable here: "Position subtitles relative to the video frame"
-- Border style: Opaque box, border width: 2, Shadow width: 3
-- Colors & Transparency:
--- Primary, Secondary: ~90% ; Outline: ~60% ; Shadow: ~50%
--- disable here: "Link alpha channels"
-- Font: Arial, size: 16 (depends on the size of the screen)

- I don't like to use any additional filter if a feature can be done within the player itself
- VSFilter is equal to the internal subtitle renderer!
- and the reason is the mentioned SubResync ! (View->SubResync (CTRL+6))
Can you explain to me what the option you use does? MadVR configuration is not so clear too. If it's not lot of bother :) Thanks!!
No worries. I just go through the major ones (you can play with the rest and you'll see the effect):
madVr:
- x disable scaling if image size changes by only: ... 25 lines or less
---- it doesn't turn on the scaling algorithms for small size changes, e.g.: if your display is 1920x1080 and your video file 1904x1064 (e.g. with web-dls)
- x keep bars visible if they contain subtitles: ... forever
---- this is for hardcoded subs in black bar
MPC-BE:
-- x Prefer external subtitles over embedded subtitles
---- it will always select first the external sub (srt) if it exist and you have set a preferred language at "Options -> Playback -> Default track preference; Sub: 'hu hun en eng' "
-- Max texture resolution: Desktop
---- renders the sub at desktop resolution: it will be more finer
--- disable here: "Position subtitles relative to the video frame"
---- since we cropped the possible black bars in madVR it's important to disable this: it will always position relative to the window of the player this way
So, the important settings were to achieve what you wanted:
madVR - zoom control:
- x move subtitles: ... to bottom of the screen/window

On certain parts the black bars were cropped effectively. I've seen the difference opening the same file in VLC. This can achieve a worse video quality? This kind of "forced zoom on a video". This is the source of my doubts.
So I effectively need to crop the black bars in the madvr settings? And there is the other command to keep them visible if there are subs. What this is about? If I want always the black bars instead?
My doubt is because black bars are cropped only if i select the option 'if there are big black bars', so i can delete the bars completely, so what's the use of the option 'crop black bars'? i can't see difference if i disable it.
And, can i use these settings with LAV Splitter installed and active?
Hope it's clear :P
Thanks again and again :D

Well, the idea behind cropping black bars is that video card has less amount of data to deal with. If it's not an issue for you then you don't need this feature in madvr.

I want without breaking out of full screen mode to tell what the audio output is. This way I can set the receiver to Stereo x7 if the audio is stereo rather than some surround mode. ATM I have to use properties (as you said) and scroll or come out of full screen to click the AUD button. A simple OSD message showing the audio track information is neat and quick. Perhaps along with show name of media file we can include audio info video info as well when file first loads rather than just title only?
