Maybe you system is "very fast" and MPC-BE does not have time to close :)

:D I don't think so :)

Sounds like you could try setting the WaitToKillAppTimeout a bit higher.

I'll put back beta b3445 today to see what happens.
b3445 works fine. So it's a bug in recent versions. Tonight I'll try out the other b3656 as well to narrow down the issue.

To clarify it what happens:
- set player to standby
- it properly put the computer into sleep
- but when I wake up Windows then MPC-BE app is still there (it should have quit properly) and there's a Windows popup with 3 buttons that the application isn't responding

I forgot to mention that I'm using a multi-monitor setup, external monitor and TV. I can't think of anything else if you guys couldn't reproduce the issue.
So what happen is:
- TV is on, monitor off
- set player to standby
- it properly put the computer into sleep
- but when I wake up Windows, monitor is on, TV is off, then MPC-BE app is still there (it should have quit properly) and there's a Windows popup with 3 buttons that the application isn't responding

I hope it helps.

You do know Aleksoid1978 is a developer of MPC-BE??
Anyway, I never used that feature before, but I tested now with r3908 and it puts my PC Win 10 Pro 1803 x64 to Standby, then power LED is blinking and when I press a key on my keyboard, it wakes up and I log in with my password -> it is working fine.

Do you have another computer to test?

No I don't, and thanks for testing.

Just tried out again:
- the issue is 100% reproducable when the TV is off and only the Monitor is used as well

I also tried out b3656 x64 and it also has the issue. The last working beta (in this regard) here is the b3445.

Please let me know if you need some logs, and if so, then how I can create it.

Thanks for the test build: no more crash!
But that's interesting: when the computer is woken up MPC-BE starts to auto-play the same file again! :) So probably that was the reason for the crash before.
But which setting is responsible for this? I don't want MPC-BE to play anything when the computer wakes up :)

I have the "Remember last playlist" checked in Player -> History. Is that it?
Under Playback -> Playback: Play 1 times is set and NO "Repeat forever" set and neither "Rewind when done playing".

Thanks

Edit: I unchecked "Remember last playlist" in History but b3788 x64 still crashes.

Try reset settings to default.
I have reset the settings (after making a backup of it) - no madvr, no lavfilters, etc. - and the x86 test build still auto-start and play the last content after waking up Windows. :)

I am experiencing something similar sometimes.
When I immediately close BE after deleting the 'recent files' list BE sometimes still plays the last entry of that list at the next start although that should be empty then !!

Recent files is stored in *.ini file, but the last played file is also stored in default.mpcpl. Delete that file, what happens?

I will try to manually trigger this error but I am not sure if this is possible.
But it looks like as if 'recent files' and 'last played file' are somehow in conflict !? Maybe also in Chros' case ?

- start in Administrator mode
- Options -> Player -> Formats -> check to enable "Blu-ray playlist (mpls bdmv)"
- press Apply or Ok
- go again to Options -> Player -> Formats
-> "Blu-ray playlist (mpls bdmv)" is not enabled

This is on Windows 10.

Later edit: actually, I found out later that the association was made, but it was not visible in the Options dialog right away.

good point

I ask carefully for all my friends who use MPC-BE and I think it's a good time to release a stable release (they use betas and stable releases) so I can update their computers to the new stable/beta, I use the nightlies, which are rocksolid ;)

Hello Team,

My first post in this thread, so first I thank you very much for all the great work accomplished so far. MPC-BE is the one player for me since it allows to output sound with highest fidelity (WASAPI exclusive).

About that, I installed latest MPC BE 1.5.2 nightlybuild and I noticed that the option to sync video to audio has disappeared since 1.5.1. Is it wanted by the developer?

If so , is there a way to mitigate A/V desynchronisation I don't know about?

Thanks for your help,

Thanks for your help,

Do all your files play with synchronisation issues, or is it just one?

If you have issues with all files, play one file and press "+" and/or "-" on your keyboard so long till the file is in sync.
After you have tweaked it you can set it up in options to use it by default. See here (https://drive.google.com/file/d/16elmukrrLuGEuZMyixwwLBGG48RU5K8w/view?usp=sharing)

How are your speakers and your display connected to your computer? -> Here are many choices and some of them don't need an audio delay in options.

It seems it happens only on dvd and mainly when moving to some time as it takes a small moment for the picture to appear (or focus).

For other interlaced material mp4 or bluray I have no such issue.

So I don't think that some predefined delay will make the trick for me as it depends on the kind of video and the somehow random induced delay.

As I remember there was nos focus delay in 1.5.1 and the synchronization was pitch perfect with the missed "Synch. Method".

Regarding my speakers, I'm using an asus essence STX2 audio card which output directly to an HIFI analog stereo ampli(no using SPDIF and no AV ampli) .

Thanks anyway and looking for your replies,

Although I haven't tried out your links but I also had problems with youtube videos using LAVfilters (buffering related issues), try to enable the internal MP4/MOV splitter (= source filter) and try again. (I use 1.5.2 b3445 x64)

@chros

I experienced things like buffer issues only in versions before LAV-Filter 0.72 and before MPC-BE 1.5.2 (build 3656) beta, since then playback is very stable, even if I go back and forth in the timeline.

My problem is that MPC-BE can't find the links, the have been marked as invalid in the playlist from one day to the next.

Regarding the download feature, I have playlists up to 100 titles. So download is only handy for me, if I can download playlists and not files.

Just tried out the first non-working link and indeed it doesn't work here either.

But recent MPC-HC (https://github.com/clsid2/mpc-hc/releases) find it and it works in it with the help of youtube-dl.exe , via "File -> Open".
