As far as i understand, by default MPC-BE will use FFMPEG, right?
Isn't LAV better, or not anymore?
Many thanks...

http://git.1f0.de/gitweb?p=ffmpeg.git;a=summary this is the ffmpeg version used in lavfilter.
open source decoder often use ffmpeg or libav. it's not like lavfilter is a recreated wheel.

I see that in the resource file the font of dialogues of Japanese is specified as MS UI Gothic(UI font for dialogues of Japanese Windows up to Win7) and that of Simplified Chinese is specified as Tahoma (I think it is because font for dialogues of S. Chinese Windows up to Win7, SimSun, is monospaced and ugly).
But those fonts are Not used at all(except the "About" dialogue), system Default font is used instead.
The Japanese UI font is actually adjusted and has less font spacing than the normal one. So it is usually problematic when using the Japanese MPC-BE on Windows of another language(Sentences are usually not completely shown).
Is it possible to let the font really be used? Eventhough it is unfair for Windows 8 users, which have a new font for displaying dialogues(adjusted version of the font that was originally only used for menus and titles).
------------------------------------------
BTW, update for Dutch, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese.
And I have been learning Japanese for several months, so I have also edited the Japanese file using my limited Japanese knowledge(mostly copy paste work from former renderer menu to the new renderer/sync setting).

I think MPC-BE shows subtitles more correct than MPC-HC. Look at the hieroglyphs on the right.
And ideally it should be so.

I have a strange problem with MPC-BE and would be grateful for any advice on what's causing it and how it might be cured. I'm running the 64 version on Windows 7.
If I run the programme with the Use the Preview in the search button enabled in Options/Interface, I get the small pop-up preview boxes, but no picture in the main frame, just a blank white space. If I run it with Use the Preview disabled, I get the screen picture but no pop-up preview boxes.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

Whether is in player the opportunity to apply a filter on the virtual dub "chroma smoother" ? It is necessary to suppress the squares (ladder) in the red section of a video.

If I play an mkv with pcm soundtrack, lav audio decoder does not show up in filters. if the mkv has two soundtracks (pcm, dtshd) and I switch to the dts hd track and then back to pcm, lav audio will show up in filters.
I have lav audio set to prefer. any ideas?

I understand it's not required but I use LAV's audio delay to get proper lipsync on my tv. When I play the same movie with PCM on mpc-hc, LAV audio decoder appears. I didn't have this issue on an older version of mpc-be.

If it is so necessary - use LAVSplitter.
Also - upload a sample.
P.S. If you need audio delay - you can do it in MPC-BE's Options->Audio->Audio time shift. It's work with any source & decoders(even if no audio decoder).

I've tried both methods. But I would prefer to use LAV's decoders so I can monitor the 'status' of multi-channel PCM audio streams.
