Very strange - for me all perfect with MPC-BE ISR. Just now tested with 3D glass, compare with xySubFilter - looks the same.

That is strange and the depth of both xysub and mpc-be matches?
I'm using frame packed 3D through mpc-be and madVR.

With xysub, the depth is correct from shot to shot. With mpc-be, the sub is at a fixed depth and a lot times crashes through the 3d depth of the characters in the film. Same scene with xysub is correct.
Did I download the right version of mpc-be?

I downloaded this x64 version:

It works!! Whatever you put into this special version works!
PGS subtitles work at the correct depth for frame packed 3D. Now I can go back to using internal subtitle renderer which I prefer. :thanks:

Please put whatever this fix is into the next SVN. Meantime I will use this version.

Again, thanks so much and have a great day (or night)

EDIT: To further clarify, when I downloaded the latest SVN 1258, it didn't work. But when I use the special build you linked, it worked.

Hi guys,

is there a preference/hidden switch/whatever to not show MPC-BE on taskbar at all (but only on the tray) like in Winamp for example? Unfortunately I only found an option to enable the tray icon. So to remove MPC-BE from the taskbar You have to minimize it, which is not really useful while watching a video as You can guess.

Many thanks!

There is no such option and is not planned.

Can you please add a feature to the installer like they have it in installer of FileZilla? They have a Upgrade feature using previous settings. The feature of course is only visible when installing a newer version of a already installed version. That would look good on MPC-BE ;)

Can you add the choice "Video" for the "Maximum texture resolution" of the subtitles like in MPC-HC ?

Hello everyone,

I have a very strange and very annoying bug:

I'm on a Vaio notebook with ALPS touchpad, Win 7 64bit.
Whenever I do a "middle click" (right and left click simultaneously on the touchpad buttons) MPC-BE crashes. Middle click on a usb mouse works fine. For example opening a new tab in Firefox causes this to happen.

The only info I could find was this 5 year old MPC bug: https://trac.mpc-hc.org/ticket/1567

Any idea what's happening?

Don's post image here - use any external hosting.

P.S. I do not see any sense in this option. Do not be such a choice.

No - it's not possible. It's OSD - here is drawing over video.

http://img15.hostingpics.net/thumbs/mini_692829subtitleResolution.jpg (http://www.hostingpics.net/viewer.php?id=692829subtitleResolution.jpg)

It allows more than 2560x1600 for the subtitles resolution. For 4K videos for instance the subtitles are nicer (3840x2160).

That's the only reason why I use MPC-HC over MPC-BE right now.

Why use texture resolution more then Desktop ?? This makes no sense - as the subtitle will be displayed in the maximum size of the desktop :)

It makes no sense to render subtitles at 4K and output 1080p, as example.

You're right, my bad. I wasn't using the same subtitles style settings with MPC-HC and MPC-BE. This option is useless.

The name should be in the file name of the screenshot, so maybe use a viewer displaying the file name even in fullscreen as lay-over.

Hi
I'm trying to set up a machine which is able to Play back 3d-mvc (without PowerDVD or StereoscopicPlayer, which both do work)...
Since for this, one needs madVR and LAV, I had to change the set-up of MPC-BE...

out of this, two questions arise :
- MPC-BE does not remember anymore the last Video Position if the playback is interrupted/stopped; how do I re-enable this Feature with LAV/madVR ?
- it would be nice, if MPC-BE would provide LAV and madVR as internal filters with Basic Settings, which would enable "out of the box" Standard playbach but also 3d... because I was not able to make it work for 3d (Standard 2d-1080p works but 3d only with but extrem stuttering/droped Frames)

Thanks

Hi
...
- it would be nice, if MPC-BE would provide LAV and madVR as internal filters with Basic Settings, which would enable "out of the box" Standard playbach but also 3d...

I have to revise my request...
Nevcairiel confirmed that LAV will never do transcoding, so I will need also in future the MPC-BE internal filters to transcode aac-5.1 on the fly to ac3-5.1...

So, there remains only the issue that MPC-BE does not remember anymore (with LAV+madVR) the last playback position of the played videos...

thanks

Can you please increase the size of the drop down lists to the left, there should be some space also for other languages, so the strings aren't cut off when the longest ones are selected.

ffdshow can reencode too same for AC3 filter.

I never used transcoding function, what is the purpose of that?

my mkv have all AAC Audio (typically 5.1) ;
I use SPDIF;
since the AV-Receiver is not able to decode AAC, I need to decode in the Player; with PCM I'm limited to Stereo; therefore the internal MPC-BE Decoder is set to pass through DD and DTS and to transcode everything else to AC3 which gives me 5.1...

in general I want to keep things simple : not install more codecs than necessary; LAV and madVR makes it already complicated enough... therefore I hoped that LAV could do it, so would not need to look in two places...but no such luck...

What do you mean 'not properly'?
It seems fine here with latest build 1298

Klaus1189

Look at display stats the red and green line should be parallel when using the Standard refresh rate of 60 Hz, but they don't. And you already see that the framerate is at about 28 fps, way too low. The videoengine is at about 98 %.
If I use external LAV Filters you see that the picture is played smooth at 60 Hz. The video engine is at very low load. Perfect playback.

When testing be sure to disable every external filter. Only use the internal ones of 1298. I used that version too.
