at the end,the bug appears when switching horizontal or vertical mode on tablet pc,if keeping one mode no bug:p
This is not a bug, this is an unsupported feature.

I have to describe the lit bug to play video on tabletpc clearly.

first, opening a video file in vertical mode,it's all OK
https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=7D7830C483ED5474&resid=7D7830C483ED5474%21136&authkey=ACP2emptDiAo_VM

and then I rotate the pc to horizontal mode, now the bug appears, only display part of the picture:mad:
https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=7D7830C483ED5474&resid=7D7830C483ED5474%21137&authkey=ABcS3Byz_O4Igrk

the normal picture in horizontal mode:
https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=7D7830C483ED5474&resid=7D7830C483ED5474%21138&authkey=AOju10_U6hm7GzI

at the end,the bug appears when switching horizontal or vertical mode on tablet pc,if keeping one mode no bug:p

hope I describe the problem clearly...

I think i know how "fix" it - how detect switching horizontal or vertical mode. But - it will be after release.

I posted this query about a month ago, but didn't get any responses that helped, so I'll try again:

I have a strange problem with MPC-BE and would be grateful for any advice on what's causing it and how it might be cured. I'm running the 64 version on Windows 7.

If I run the programme with the Use the Preview in the search button enabled in Options/Interface, I get the small pop-up preview boxes, but no picture in the main frame, just a blank white space. If I run it with Use the Preview disabled, I get the screen picture but no pop-up preview boxes.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

No any problem here with all video files, using latest 1.4.4 x64 stable version.

You'd better reset all settings first and enable that feature only, then try it again.
If still doesn't work, report mpc-be version, your os version, vga driver version and upload your problematic files(if necessary) etc.

With rev5480 everything is still fine. With rev5482 my cpu's at 100% load when the ass-subs start to fade out.Do you test in MPC-HC ??Aleksoid1978, yes. It seems unaffected.Aleksoid1978, eventhough your cpu seems unaffected, do you have any idea what changes between rev5480 and rev5482 causes a simple subtitle fade out to require so much cpu power in my case?

The sample I uploaded is from a compilation video which I muxed with MKVToolNix 6.8.0. An older tabletennis video I made, with MKVToolNix 6.7.0, somehow doesn't have this problem. So for moment I thought MKVToolNix is to blame, but when I remuxed the sample I uploaded with MKVToolNix 6.7.0, the problem still occurred.
As MPC-HC is unaffected, the source of the problem has to be between rev5480 and rev5482. Do you have any idea?

Found a crash with the MPC Audio Renderer.

It is a rather specific usage, with my AVR I have connected 2 TV's, if I turn on TV2 then turn off TV1, the audio device unexpectedly disconnects and upon reconnection will crash MPC-BE, with DirectSound output it works without a crash.

Steps to recreate crash, requirements are to have 2 enabled audio devices.
1. Start playing a file
2. Disable the current audio device, audio should kick in on the 2nd audio device
3. Re-enable the disabled audio device, MPC will now crash

Would be great if something could be done to make the MPC Audio Render act the same as DirectSound output to avoid having to restart MPC-BE or revert back to DirectSound output.

Thanks

Can't reproduce. Disable/Enable audio devices(even if all) - no crash and playback is always switched to the default audio device or selected.

I will try do some testing if different channels/formats may have some effect on this and will report back.

Our system specs are relatively similar so thinking its not hardware related.

Using 1.4.4 having option ticked launch in fullscreen 512x384 videos are not stretched to fullscreen with madVR still says target rectange 512x384.
Works fine in MPC-HC with madVR and MPC-BE with all other renderers. Resizing the window / minimizing & maximizing it makes it fullscreen.

Already set to Touch Window From Inside. If I pause the video and then continue playing it resizes to fullscreen.
Also if I bring up the seekbar and controls by moving the mouse along the bottom the video automatically goes to fullscreen as well.
But until then only top corner of the player shows the video.

Reset all BE settings to default. Same thing happens, only seems to occur with 512x384 AVI container videos.

What could be the reason for "Use the preview in the search" option not having any effect? It suddenly broke for me one day.
First time it happened I fixed it by resetting settings, but since it happened the second time I've been wondering if there's a more elegant fix.

Is it possible to add a named PRESETS feature to color controls, where you can save different combinations of brightness, contrast and saturation to access them quickly during a movie?

examples: movie, live TV, anime, night scene, sports, etc

Sometimes I'm watching a movie and suddenly there is a very dark scene that is difficult to see, so I'd like to press a key or access a preset with the mouse for "dark", and when it finishes, go back to normal easily. Now if I want to do this, I have to manually adjust all parameters by hand and that takes time.

What do you think? Worth the effort? :)

Thanks for your hard work.

@Aleksoid1978,

I've just released a 64bit build of madVR. Unfortunately it crashes both MPC-BE and MPC-HC. I've identified the window subclassing to be at fault. However, I don't see much I can do there. The same code works in 32bit. In 64bit, after I restore the stored window proc, the crash occurs. If I don't restore it, a different crash occurs. So what can I do? Here's what the log says:

00000064 Render install new WindowProc (ParentWindow: 000000000048121E, OldWindowProc: 00007FF7B3E7ACC0, NewwindowProc: 0000000DECD50000) -> +
00001976 Render restore WindowProc, ParentWindow: 000000000048121E, current: 00000000FFFF0DC7, old: 00007FF7B3E7ACC0, ours: 0000000DECD50000
So basically when madVR starts rendering, I'm storing the old window proc of madVR's parent window, then I'm subclassing the parent window, and when madVR is finalized, I undo the subclassing. Unfortunately this crashes MPC-BE 64bit, but not in 32bit. Interestingly, at the moment when I want to undo the subclassing, the active window proc neither matches the original one, nor the one I set. So something weird is going on there, anway. But that's the case in 32bit, too, and there it still works without a crash.

There's a madVR interface "IMadVRSubclassReplacement" which you can use to replace madVR's window subclassing with a cleaner method. Using that should take care of the crash. Would that be possible to add to MPC-BE? It's the better solution for 32bit, too.
