Is there any difference between these cases? Both using madvr, delay timer, automatic refresh rate change and launch files in fullscreen is enabled.
1. double click on a videofile in windows explorer (MPC-BE is set as default video player in Win 10 Pro) -> about a second is missing at the very beginning, both audio and video.
2. Start MPC-BE and open file with CTRL + Q -> everything is fine, not missing a part of a second.

Only happens with the advanced features enabled mentioned at the beginning. Is there anything that can be done so case 1 behaves like case 2?

This is caused by madvr settings, if I use D3D9, it is fine, and when I disable exlusive mode on D3D11 it is also fine, it only happens when using D3D11 exclusive.
So I think it's nothing on MPC-BE's side ;)

@v0lt: does the new translation fit in GUI? Some text is quite long now, and I have the feeling that the final 1.5.1 is very close, so I have to be sure. Do you have already fixed plans for final 1.5.1? ;)

Would it be possible to compile a MPC-BE with VS2013 once in a while? Everything after v1.4.6.1478 doesn't work for me.
Hmm, MPC-BE.1.4.6.1327.x86.VS2015 also appears to work.

It won't suddenly make it XP-compatible.

All changed lines should have changed except IDS_SCALE_16_9, IDS_SCALE_WIDESCREEN, IDS_SCALE_ULTRAWIDE. These three lines are the names of the presets and can be changed by the user at any time.

Klaus1189
13th September 2017, 05:24
Thank you v0lt, that info helped me. I reseted settings to see the new translation of IDS_SCALE_16_9, IDS_SCALE_WIDESCREEN, IDS_SCALE_ULTRAWIDE and I forgot one part of translation because it contains a "&" and I only checked this part on GUI, because I use the very minimalistic mode by pressing 3 times CTRL + 0.
Anyway, I found it and corrected it also -> updated german translation (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4y5u0gBKYqbUHk0T3A0ellIa28?usp=sharing).

Hi Guys!

Any Tips on how I can make "ASSsubfilter" work in this player? It just wont recognize the filter

ryrynz
14th September 2017, 04:00
No tip. It's not supported. They will add support when it's a suitable replacement for Internal/XYSubfilter.

Since we're on the topic, XYSubfilter is dead, I haven't seen any commits to the internal subtitle filter recently but wondered, how does it stack up against XYSubFilter performance wise?

@ developers. I would like to suggest the following 'autoload external audio'-feature enhancements (win7, 32bit).

1) When an external audio file is loaded all features on that disc have that length now ! For example, a ten minutes interview featurette is now shown as 90 minutes long !

2) There is a German label which unfortunately names all their BluRays with the companys name. No matter which film the discs are named ANOLIS FILM ENTERTAINMENT.
I have several external audio files there and unfortunately they are ALL loaded even when not meant for that movie and that causes handling problems for my somewhat weak system !!
So I was wondering if you could not add a check for, say, the time stamp of the bdmv-folder ?
For example: ANOLIS FILM ENTERTAINMENT.[10.03.2014]. Mole People - Mick Garris Audio commentary.ac3
This would make sure that only that file is loaded and not also the audio commentary for, say, 'Monolith Monsters', etc.

yes the xy subfilter project isn't updated anymore and has major bugs. XY vsfilter is in even worse conditions.

that's what i understand as a dead project. ffdshow still works but that doesn't change that it is a dead project.

and at UHD xy vsfilter pretty much stops working. it is very very slow compared to asslib.

I did not follow the development of AssFilterMod and I have two questions.

1. AssFilterMod can accept and switch multiple subtitle streams?
XySubFilter can.http://jpegshare.net/thumbs/c1/b0/c1b077b18e7b7e66fc1cabba6a48cc77.jpg (http://jpegshare.net/c1/b0/c1b077b18e7b7e66fc1cabba6a48cc77.png.html)

1. you can switch subtitles with it but it only accepts one graph. which is totally fine with lavfilter and very problematic with the internal filters from MPC-BE.
if i'm not mistaken Aleksoid1978 made that very clear.

2. yes externals subtitle work with 0.3.

so adding it is not an option for MPC-BE right now.

v0lt
14th September 2017, 19:36
@huhn
You are wrong.
1. I checked in MPC-HC 1.7.13.112 + MatroskaSplitter.ax + AssFilterMod 0.3. AssFilterMod is not able to work with several pins.
2. I checked in MPC-HC 1.7.13.112 + AssFilterMod 0.3. AssFilterMod can not load external subtitles.

In both cases, I can not switch the subtitle track. Nothing has changed after a year. We will not support filters that do not work as required.

huhn
14th September 2017, 21:28
subtitle switching works fine with lavfilter and yes i know it doesn't work with mpc-be because is only supports one pin.

external sub work fine for me. make sure that external subs are ass or srt. PGS doesn't work.
i know it will not work for mpc-be but that doesn't change that people want to use it.

We not add support until developer not add multiple input pin support and add interface for select input pin, it is must work for internal/external subtitles.

and i'm not here to get it into MPC-BE right now. i undrestand why it is not added and the dev of assfiltermod wants to add support for more than 1 pin.
i'm just here to say why people want to use it instead of XY Subfilter.

What am I doing wrong, VP9 files are played but GPU isn't displayed on GUI, so it isn't active, do you have a sample file and instructions for enabling it somehow? MSI RX480 8GB

VP9 DXVA is checked in settings...

polaris doesn't have a hardware decoder. the RX 480 has an hybrid decoder for 8 bit only. i'm not sure if it is active right now. i know it was or is possible to use this decoder in chrome with a newer windows 10 version.

sneaker_ger
18th September 2017, 17:54
1060, 1070 and 1080 (Ti) should have 8192x8192 with 8 bit. Framerate I don't know but 4Kp60 should be fine. 1050 (Ti) and 1030 have 10 bit and supposedly even 12 bit VP9. All Pascal cards support 12 bit HEVC.

huhn

that's just a number which doesn't have to be worse than a better looking number. it's a complicated topic between the war of 3 different clocks. in short the system say your clock is 23.972 but that doesn't matter as long as the audio clock see it as 24000/1001 which is rarely does on all GPUs.

If I bitstream Audio to my AVR and watch a movie in 23 Hz setting using madvr, what does it display? Still 23.972? -> repeated/dropped frames
I still don't know if it is also 23.972 in newer cards like 1060 /1070 ...

I'm ready for the complicated explanation, I want always learn :D

the number is just a number 23.972 could be worse could be better than 23.976. the AMD clocks are on avg better than nvidia clock in my personal experience but both are far from perfect.
wrong thread. and bitstreaming has nothing todo with it it has the same problems.

it should work fine with CUVID. AFAIK there is no 12 bit HEVC DXVA spec. maybe nev can use CUVID through his new custom D3D11 api.
