I always use VS2010 which is the most stable in theory.

Been using VS2013 builds since they were released with zero issues. Use the latest IMO.

P.S. At this point I too would like to see, as ryrynz said, other parts of MPC-BE polish, added, improved, fixed rather than just splitters and decoders

Like what ??

Getting crashes in BE loading this file (http://www.mediafire.com/download/5urn3qsjbwrucfq/Kaleido_Star_-_51_-_To_the_Promise_s_Amazing_Location.mk) with MadVR and XYsubfilter enabled. No crashes in HC. Disabling XYsubfilter or MadVR prevents the crashes. Reset settings in BE and tried earlier versions and it still crashes.

Like being able to use the playlist with a remote control = keyboard (the playlist it needs to take focus after opening) and the other things you've told me you don't know how (Independent volume control for each channel like in FFDShow (http://ffdshow-tryout.sourceforge.net/images/front3.png) and Equalizer) but maybe other devs know how to

If you're using Windows 7 or later, I think all three builds are stable. In case of mine, I have been using VS2012 builds from when they first released and haven't encountered any compiler-related issues yet.

P.S. Actually, I think you can choose any build. Performance wise, they're not difference.

Hi guys,

I use MPC-BE with LAV filters. I want to use only external subtitles for my movies because that way I can change the position of the subtitles if I am correct.
I play mostly Blu-Ray folder (BDMV/CERTIFICATE) movies. I can manually add a .srt by dragging and dropping that .srt to the MPC-BE window of the movie that is playing. But I m wondering if there is a way to automatically load external subtitles (.srt) when the movie starts running.

Rename the srt file to index.srt and place it in the same folder with index.bdmv (=...\BDMV )

After svn rev. 3502 it's be much easy :)
Example:
you have BD in
C:\Movies\Avatar
C:\Movies\Die Hard 4
C:\Movies\Moulin Rouge
C:\Movies\The Ring
C:\Movies\Inception
C:\Movies\The Hunger Games
C:\Movies\Some_BD_Name

Create any dir, example c:\Subtitles\
and place you .srt/.ass(and any other supported subtitles format) here and rename:
Die Hard 4.str/Die Hard 4.eng.ass
Inception.rus.ass/Inception.new_style.srt
Some_BD_Name.srt/Some_BD_Name.English.ass
and so.

Than add c:\Subtitles\ in subtitles Autoload paths. That's all.

I just tried the player for the first time and noticed that the window size is always fixed at playback start. All files start at a resolution that looks like 480x320 or something similar. Whenever playing a file, I always need to set the zoom to 100% manually.
Is this a bug or desired behaviour by the developers?

Iv'e just installed madVR but it is still not available in MPC-BE
I Installed madVR in program files as instructed but also installed a copy inside the MPC-BE folder just in case.

My Operating System Windows & 64 bit

MPC-BE Version MPC-BE.1.2.1.0.3526.x64

Video Card HD 7970 thanks in advance for any help regards ibbeebee

I think I have the answer to my question is it still true that madVR isn't supported in 64 bit versions of MPC-BE?

ryrynz

Yes I figured that out & have installed the 32 bit version of MPC-BE , I'm really impressed by madVR, just using it at default settings. My first experience was with 720 HDTV it looks fantastic & it seems to have also fixed a small issue I was having with speech sometimes not quite syncing or slight stuttering as well. I'm sure there's more that I can do but at the moment I'm really satisfied with both my sound & vision
