I found some more to correct and optimize -> updated german translation (https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0B4y5u0gBKYqbUHk0T3A0ellIa28?usp=sharing) based on r3359.
I changed in line 1660 (STRING IDS_NEW_UPDATE_AVAILABLE) a sentence, but I can't check if it is too long. Can you please check if the text is complete in the appearing update window? -> Thanks :)

Hi, I've a strange problem with mpc be. I use madvr and lav.
Never had a problem running DVD discs. With a DVD now, if I play it in vlc, no problems.
In mpc be i ve a sort of audio and video extreme lagging, images are frammented and flashing on the screen. What could be?
Mah, same problem with windows media player.
Only vlc runs the DVD. But it's strange. It's a 16:9 and 2.40:1 disc on a full HD monitor and I see the movie in a centered rectangle. With letterbox at right and left too... Should it be only on top and bottom with this aspect ratio? Btw I see this in vlc, with mc be and windows media player (just trying) i can't go after the initial DVD sponsor because of the audio and video lag.

Troubleshoot. Is it LAV? If it's happening in media player then it's not anything to do with Mpc-be.

@steakhutzeee: What is installed? -> clean MPC-BE and clean LAV Filters, clean madVR OR a Codec-Pack of any kind? I recommend to use the clean projects.
Did you update any driver like graphics? What OS and which version/build are you using? -> e.g. Windows 10 x64 1709.
As ryrynz already wrote, if WMP (also directshow player) has same issue, all directshow players will have this issue. -> Already tried to reset lav filters to default settings? Doi you use anyother filters?
I just did a clean new installation (Windows 10 Pro 1709 x64, new 960 EVO) on my dads computer and tried DVD video playback, which is fine.

Is there a max image size that can be saved? For example, I load a 3840x2160 video file, and have madVR screenshot set to 300%. So it would save a 11520x6480 file :). I set pagefile to 32GB and performance monitor tells me it's not all used. My 6GB VRAM maxes out, then my 16GB system RAM, then it loads some into page file, then madshi's exception handler comes up when everything crashes.
v0lt
8th February 2018, 16:06
@Arm3nian
My system froze, after which madVR crashed. GPU-Z showed a consumption of 1894 MB of video memory from the available 2048 MB.
madshi
8th February 2018, 16:53
Of course if VRAM maxes out, it's clearly not MPC-BE's fault. One could say it's madVR's fault. But making this work from within madVR would be *REALLY* difficult. Basically I'd have to split the image into small pieces and scale each up separately and then stitch them back together. Nah, not going to happen. So for now, screenshotting will be limited by your GPU VRAM, and maybe sometimes also by CPU RAM (e.g. when using a 32bit media player, or when using no page file).
Obviously, it would be nice if there were no crash, but really, that's something to look at on another day, sorry.
But seriously, do you need such large screenshots? Or are you just testing, just for fun?

I do not need such large pictures. I just tried to find the cause of the crash.

Hi, ive had this issue for a long time but it hasnt really bothered me until now as I'm using BE as my main player now. Whenever I start a movie, even local files i get a blue circle like its buffering and it can hang for a good ten seconds or so. This happens more often if I havent loaded be in a while but also seems to happen randomly on one movie and then not another. It also happens in music.
I never see this ever using MPC-HC whether i've just rebooted or never played the media before.
From memory i've has this issue probably months or even years.
Is this a known issue, if I search for buffering I just get back posts about streaming.

I have one issue with MPC-BE and I get sometimes also a blue circle at mouse pointer which hangs at this time and stutters in 3 or 4 moves instead of smooth motion. If it is happening, every file has this strange phenomen. I reboot the pc and it is away and the files open as fast as they normally do.
I already did investigations what could cause it and now it seems that Firefox with HTML5 player causes it for me.
It seems like this issue only appears when I use(d) Firefox (always using latest stable Version) for playing videos in browser like YouTube left the tab open when it finished and MPC-BE is still running. A reboot fixes it.
I don't know what exactly I have to do in firefox, to reproduce it. I'm still investigating.

Just recognized that a circle doesn't appear.

I know think its a problem with MPC-BE taking control of the audio output, it happens when i've been playing something on youtube too, its not every file though, its mainly when MPC-BE hasnt been open for a while, once i've opened it and played something, more often than not its ok after that, but not always.
Just dont understand why this never ever happens with MPC-HC

EDIT:
not fine, same issue.
I played files with MPC-BE left it open and used firefox to watch YouTube videos and the same issue appeared after opening a new file in MPC-BE.

I had something else in the past.
Every time after I had updated MPC-BE nightly build, when I clicked the "view" menu for the first time, the whole player hung for seconds. Later I switched to another antivirus and the problem is "solved". Likely my previous antivirus was scanning the translation files(because they are unsigned dll files)

Sometimes it's happened on my workink PC. System "hang" for little time on opened/closed files. DXVA or software. Reboot can help. Video - RX 460. Never happened on system with Nvidia.
It's not a MPC-BE issue - i think video driver.

When reproducing a movie I have as a file on pc I can use my seek bar without problems, so I can jump to a point of the movie back or forward.
With dvd discs I can't, i can only press the button to jump to next or previous chapter.
This happens not only on original DVD discs, but also with dvd with movie recorded from a TV.
Don't know if it is important but with windows media player I've same issue. I opened it just for try. Vlc has no problem instead.

Now I got it. You use LAV Filters. Disable for testing purposes both external LAV Filters and madVR, use EVR CP and internal Filters of MPC-BE. Is It fine then?
After that switch on LAV Video Filter, then Audio Filter, then LAV Splitter, then madVR.
What thappens? Possible issue in LAV.

And disabled all lav filters like you can see in spoiler image. But when running the disk I can see that lav audio/video is still active. Why? Maybe I've to enable some internal filters? Because I ve all disabled in Internal Filters -> Source Filters/Decoder Video/Decoder Audio.

It's strange because at first with madvr when I click somewhere i can see the seconds I clicked on screen but nothing happens. Next times I see the time but image start for just the moment I click, like frame to frame, don't know how to explain.
With evr instead i can always see the timing I select but it has not effect because the movie doesn't jump at the moment I selected.
And it's much strange because with another DVD now, same type, recorded directly from TV. The problem doesn't occurs...
Klaus1189

EVR CP = custom presenter, it‘s the default video renderer.
I think the best choice is to reset to default settings, you can block LAV for testing purposes in external filters page in options.

not "windows media player classic" -> Windows Media Player
VLC has its own codecs built in which work or not, you cannot do anything if it doesn't work.
1.) Now MPC-BE is reset to default, take a look at external filters, are the filters now also in the list?
2.) Rightclick on videoframe when you play the DVD -> Filter -> Screenshot needed
3.) Be sure that all internal Filters in MPC-BE are enabled/checked.
4.) What OS are you using? -> like Windows 7 , 8.1, 10
5.) What MPC-BE version are you using?
6.) What LAV Filters version are you using?
I need all six points, otherwise I can not help you.

I did auto update in mpc be and it updated to 1.5.2 (build 3148) beta.
Why this not updated to the last (it is?) 3391?
EDIT: I think i was connected to the repo on sourceforge where last version is the one i downloaded.
