I'm running MPC-BE v1.2.0.3.2938 on XP. Nvidia 8600GT video card.

I quite like MPC-BE, but, is there a way to get pixels shaders to work I might have missed? I've tried everything, even opening MPC-HC's options and making sure the MPC-BE settings are identical (obviously for MPC-HC, they work). I'm using VMR9 (renderless). "3D surfaces" is selected.

When I try enabling a pre-resize pixel shader, MPC-BE displays a "cannot load shader" error in the status bar. When I use a post-resizer shader, nothing happens. I've also noticed opening the shader editer and selecting a shader always results in an error message "unexpected compiler error".

Thanks.

In order to use pixel shader, you need to install the latest DirectX 9.0c runtime (June 2010) (the link can be found at the top of this topic), OR to place D3DCompiler_43.dll and d3dx9_43.dll in MPC-BE folder.

MPC-HC included these two files, you may copy them from MPC-HC directly.

I have a DXVA1 issue with a probably rare use case.
It concerns the following 2 files:
POW_00678246-audio_eng=192000-video=900000.ts (http://www.degeelebosch.nl/reino/POW_00678246-audio_eng=192000-video=900000.ts)
POW_00678246-audio_eng=128000-video=500000.ts (http://www.degeelebosch.nl/reino/POW_00678246-audio_eng=128000-video=500000.ts)
These are m3u8-playlists representing a television show on Dutch national television. They list more than 350 dynamic MPEG-TS streams.
I renamed them to *.ts so you can watch the entire show in MPC-BE (and MPC-HC). Otherwise they're treated as ordinary playlists and every 5sec a new segment needs to be loaded.
(I saved the playlists locally because I had to add the full url to all entries to make it work)

ffmpeg/ffplay reports the following:
POW_00678246-audio_eng=192000-video=900000.ts

I have setup my Logitech Harmony Remote with a MCI IR receiver and Eventghost software. This works like a charm with MPC-BE. However I would like to know if it is possible to fast forward in steps. With this I mean: press one time on forward mean x2 (or something), press another time means x6 and press another time means x20.

Thank you.
Oddly enough I thought I had copied them from the MPC-HC folder but it turned out I'd only copied one. Pixel shaders now work and I managed to modify the "BT.601 to BT.709" pixel shader so it'll work regardless of the video resolution. Why it only works for HD video by default (same as MPC-HC) is beyond me, given correcting the colours of SD video encoded using BT.709 (ie most SD encodes taken from HD sources) is when you're most likely to want to use it these days.
I probably should work out how to rename it too, given "BT.601 to BT.709" is the exact opposite of what it actually does.

Cheers.

Thanks for this awesome app - it's so much smoother and slicker than MPC-HC.

I was wondering, have you guys looked into playback via standard input? MPC-HC added this feature in about 2 months ago:

https://github.com/mpc-hc/mpc-hc/commit/68801edd2603b936f2c836ae6f76026426cd0496

I'm not sure how hard it would be to copy over, but it'd be really nice as I'm currently having to use both MPC-BE (regular playback) and MPC-HC (livestreams).

Not sure if it's still a WIP, Shoutcast no longer display's the current song playing but rather just the title of the server. This seemed to happen once the UDP reader was enabled for HTTP.

Here's some URL's that used to work,

Great player, thank you. Any chance you might implement Google's APIs to stream from MPC-BE to Chromecast devices? This would be a great alternative to casting from a Chrome tab, which is very laggy.

Chromecast supports only a limited number of codecs and containers. A large portion of any local media collection would probably need some sort of realtime transcoding performed before being sent to Chromecast. As such that work is probably better left to apps such as VLC and Plex.

The link says: "All Google Cast devices at a minimum support the following media types." Sounds like they're just laying out the minimum requirements to qualify under the devices program (and there aren't any 3rd party devices yet).

Chromecast will show anything that a Chrome tab will play, including flash video and web games (with a huge lag, of course).

You only need to instanciate a few filters in the filter graph, and pass key presses to the filter and you are done. Most of the interface is the same or identical to the DVD navigator filter.

@Aleksoid1978:

Since then MPC-HC's svn 7503 dropped DXVA support for NT 5.x (XP/2003), I use standalone
filters of MPC-BE. Firstly, thank all very much you and other developers for support continue and updating.

There is two major bug MPCVidDec and MpaDecFilter of MPC-BE standalone filters.

Bug #1: MpaDecFilter cann't play audio in DVB-S streams. But MPC-HC-MpaDecFilter (Svn:7503) can play audio
without problem. I tried ProgDVB with SmartDVB. It's same. Likewise Mplayer2.exe(6.4).
MPC Audio Decoder can't play the audio. In instead of MpaDecFilter, Microsoft MPEG Audio Dedocer come into play. :)
The solution: regsvr32 /u MpaDecFilter.ax (in mpc-be)
regsvr32 MpaDecFilter.ax (in mpc-hc 7503)

I'd capture a debug TS sample video&audio. The sample download: http://ge.tt/api/1/files/7bTkwyq/0/blob?download

Bug #2: MPCVidDec cannot settle with AviSynth, cannot the AVS play. Potplayer nor Virtualdub nor
Media Player 6.4, can open the Avisyth file. But again mpc-hc 7503 filter working. Again same the solution:
regsvr32 /u MPCVideoDec.ax (in mpc-be)
regsvr32 MPCVideoDec.ax (in mpc-hc 7503)

I uploaed a sample video (included AVS): http://ge.tt/api/1/files/93wG4zq/0/blob?download

Again hello Aleksoid1978,

Yeah, MPC-BE can playback the sample .TS video&audio. MPC Audio Decoder working. But expect Mpc-Be, in other application, MpcaudioDec cannot working. For example, Potplayer-DVB applications. On the other side MPC-HC's MpaDecFilter (7503) can play any apps. Strange.

Could you test with mplayer2.exe (microsoft media player 6.4) the .ts file?

Does the link for the playlist on my website (http://www.degeelebosch.nl/reino/POW_00678246-audio_eng=192000-video=900000.ts) not work for you, or the actual link of the ts-segments (http://l24m6c61b66d1c0052154323000000.2579b4606778978a.adaptive-e10c4a.npostreaming.nl/lmshieldv2/3/bnn/rest/2013/POW_00678246/POW_00678246.ism/POW_00678246-audio_eng%3D192000-video%3D900000-1.ts) in the playlist? If the latter, then I guess the television show is geo-restricted/blocked (meaning only Dutch IP-addresses can watch it).

With...
ffmpeg.exe -i "POW_00678246-audio_eng=192000-video=900000.ts" -bsf:a aac_adtstoasc -c copy "output.mp4"...FFmpeg splices all the 5sec segments together again. It sees the playlist (renamed to ts) as one long videoclip. Playing this local file is no problem at all.

No problem if you can't reproduce. It's not such a big issue, but thought I'd report it anyway in case television shows in other countries have a simular dynamic approach.

I just noticed MPC-BE doesn't show embedded cover-art in flac and wavpack files anymore.
Rev.3126 still shows them, while Rev.3139 doesn't.

All ok. Sure that use internal splitter.

titlebar gibberish for xysubfilter only on 1st instance.

Play video first in window mode, go to full screen, stop (Ctrl+C) in fullscreen, return to window mode. Repeatable only for the 1st instance of a newly launched mpc-be. Video filename is in english characters & standard symbols.

xyvsfilter no issue.

Cyberbeing said that it's unlikely to be xysubfilter's bug.

Thanks for taking a look.

All ok. Sure that use internal splitter.Sorry, I spoke too soon. It's only the WavPack Splitter that doesn't show embedded cover-art as from Rev.3139. Flac Source is all fine.

WavPack Splitter issue fixed. Thanks!

Thank you for the TAK Splitter and Decoder. Like LAV based on FFmpeg's reverse-engineered TAK Decoder I take it?

Доработка функции CorrectWaveFormatEx. Заполняем пустое поде dwChannelMask после DC-Bass Source Mod 1.5.2.0 (проверено на многоканальных TAK-файлах).Google Translate wasn't particularly helpfull, so what does this commit say/do?

Пока находится на начальной стадииI understand "it's still alpha/beta", but there seems to be something wrong with seeking. There's no sound for the first 2 to 3 seconds and the whole timeline (seekbar) is off.
As a result navigating the embedded cue-sheet also goes wrong. The 2nd cue-entry/audiotrack of the sample I sent you pm starts at 01:35 instead of 01:24. 3rd starts at 06:39 instead of 06:16, etc.

Next,... at the moment "PERFORMER" (Artist) is always shown (for WavPack and FLAC as well) in the Navigate-menu as; 01. Artist-1 - Audiotrack_Titel-1. For...
REM GENRE Classical
PERFORMER "Various Artists"
TITLE "Album_name"
FILE "Sample.tak" WAVE
TRACK 01 AUDIO
TITLE "Audiotrack_Title-1"
PERFORMER "Artist-1"
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
TITLE "Audiotrack_Title-2"
PERFORMER "Artist-2"
INDEX 01 09:13:38
TRACK 03 AUDIO
TITLE "Audiotrack_Title-3"
PERFORMER "Artist-3"
INDEX 01 15:16:38...that's perfectly fine, but for most cases...
REM GENRE Rock
PERFORMER "Artist-X"
TITLE "Album-Y"
FILE "Sample.tak" WAVE
TRACK 01 AUDIO
TITLE "Audiotrack_Title-1"
INDEX 01 00:00:00
TRACK 02 AUDIO
TITLE "Audiotrack_Title-2"
INDEX 01 01:24:03
TRACK 03 AUDIO
TITLE "Audiotrack_Title-3"
INDEX 01 06:16:73...where there's only 1 artist, I'd say omit "PERFORMER"; 01. Audiotrack_Titel-1.
In addition it would be really neat if you could let MPC-BE display "Title %TITLE%" and "Author %PERFORMER%" on the Information-tab (Ctrl+3).

Could you enable the Zoom-function (Alt+1-4) for covert-art too, and have it auto-zoom to 100% if that function is enabled in Option->Playback?About Zoom for Cover - do not planned.Still not planned?
If some idiots decide to embed 3000x3000 cover-art, render it at 480x480, or 720x720 max, I'd say.

Hi
maybe a stupid question, but are there any plans/chances that a playback of 3D-mkv files, like those generated by MakeMkv, might be possible in future?

Besides of the above question, I have an other question/request :
I am mainly using mkv...they are taged (title, genre, actors, director, year,...) and have a cover; I am using the MKVTagger for this.
It would be nice to have a library function in mpc-be to be able to select a video by those tags...

I'm having issues with getting DirectVobSub(autoloading) 3.0.0.211 xy-vsfilter to load and display/chose more than 1 subtitle with MPC-BE 1.2.0.3 when auto-load subtitles is unchecked. When auto-load subtitles is checked the internal subtitle renderer takes control (of course, expected behavior). Is this suppose to happen?
