A much simpler solution would be to connect a splitter cable to the LFE output of your receiver.

1. That will duplicate the room EQ for the subwoofer out to the tactile shakers which is not ideal. (but it's not a huge deal I admit.)

2. That wont allow me to do stereo tactile bass as I described in my earlier post. routing the low end crossover from the 3 speakers on the right side of the room to the right mounted tactile transducer, and left to left.

3. That wont allow me to make the tactile bass shake sooner than the subwoofer plays, which in my experience is often needed as the shake is not felt instantaneously through many types of seating and tactile platforms that seating might be placed upon.

4. That prevents be from doing tactile-specific EQ without another costly outboard audio processor with another A->D EQ then D->A conversion.

Like adding PEQ filters to even out the shake response, shelf filters to boost the ultra low frequency shake, and pass filters to roll-off the shake sensation at higher frequency like 50Hz.

There are numerous reasons to want to have both the LFE and the other 7 base channels extracted from the signal able to be manipulated separately in EqualizerAPO, a free system-wide EQ, while also still being able to stream the object-based Atmos and DTS:X audio to the main AVR.

A command (not an option) with the same name works correctly.

Which command? I'm wondering why the same option in the two players, doesn't work as intended in mpc-be.

i have no nvidia card right now. so this is not as good of an explanation sorry for that.
take your nvidia card and go to this this page:
https://www.nvidia.com/content/dam/en-zz/Solutions/geforce/news/gamescom-2019-geforce-game-ready-driver/gamescom-2019-geforce-game-ready-driver-integer-scaling-nvcpl-option.png
go to size here you can crop the output to 21/9 very easily.
to get 1440p you can also use DSR 4x (again out of my head) as the windows resolution if that matter at all. but i don't see a reason why that would be needed to trigger the issue.

No change.
Explain how you use it?
For me, calling the command immediately changes the filling of the video frame. Changing the default setting affects the new session.

Also see if you have a preset enabled in the Pan & Scan submenu.

@v0lt

I went crazy for a couple of day to finally understand that MPC-BE (and MPC-HC too) has problems with some (https://pastebin.com/GAHYjd8N) ASS subtitles.

This is how it is rendered by MPC-BE

https://i1.lensdump.com/i/rEn1te.md.png (https://lensdump.com/i/rEn1te)

and this is how it should be (from Aegisub)

https://i1.lensdump.com/i/rEn0hA.md.png (https://lensdump.com/i/rEn0hA)

Can you please check it out? If you need any clarification, please ask.

P.S: MPV renders the ass perfectly.

Internal subtitle's renderer has some limitations on animated subtitle handling. There is no developers who can improve it :)

I don't use pan and scan, the situation is this: when I watch 2.39:1 movies, there is one pixel on the left side, when I use touch window from outside in mpc-hc, it adjust the picture without the pixel on the left and it shows the correct resolution. In mpc-be there is no change at all, and the pixel on the left remains. It should work as in mpc-hc.

Can you suggest me what to use as subtitle renderer? I saw there are two possible alternatives (not installed).

Is it possible to find a "portable" version of those two libraries to let MPC-BE use them even if not "system" installed?

I saw pinterf did a fork of xy-VSFilter but I fear is an AVS plugin only.

Anyway, MPV renders that ASS perfectly but it's not so GUI and configuration intuitive.

You can try XySubFilter (not xy-VSFilter) installed on the system.
XySubFilter 3.1.0.752 by Cyberbeing (https://github.com/Cyberbeing/xy-VSFilter/releases)
XySubFilter v3.2.0.806 by pinterf (https://github.com/pinterf/xy-VSFilter/releases)

Someone should investigate the cause of the problem, make a patch, and verify that the patch has not caused other negative effects.

As far as I can tell, MPC is actually rendering the subtitle CORRECTLY. If it looks wrong it is because the person that made it only tested with libass.

The relevant sub line has borderstyle=3, which means opaque box, which uses the outlinecolor, which is non-transparent white.

Text is actually orange here (with a gradient). But I don't have the original video. Neither of your screenshots look correct to me, based on what the subtitle actually specifies.

I think I found / can reproduce an issue. Since I am also on videohelp.com I found that:
"Open options: New process for every file" does not work. All files open in the same player.

Review by TheGhost on Jan 1, 2022 Version: 1.6.0 OS: Windows 10 64-bit Ease of use: 10/10 Functionality: 10/10 Value for money: 10/10 Overall: 10/10

To TheGhost:

No, it does work.

I think you should read this : https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1960021#post1960021

One of the important changes in version 1.6.0:
Reworked saving of many settings. The values of these settings will not be inherited when upgrading from older versions of the player.

May be you didn't delete old ini file.

To longwin: I did a clean install of Windows 10 x64, having tried out Windows 11 for a few weeks. I installed version 1.6.0 with no prior installation of MPC-BE whatsoever. All files open in the same player window despite specifying "New process for every file" in the options.

I have a portable installation of 1.6.0 stable release on my PC. Then I did a backup of setting files and did reset MPC-BE but it still opens a new file in the already playing instance.
I personally do not use this feature, but I can reproduce it.
I downloaded 1.5.8 stable and then 1.5.7 stable and checked these versions but the same issue. I suspect a windows update broke that feature. Would you mind to take a look at it?

Oh dang, that's too bad.

I wonder why?

I mean I can open 2 copies of the media player and have one Bit-streaming and one decoding.

Strange that it couldn't be added into 1 player like that to route the audio out bit-stream and into the decoder at the same time.

I would still guess that it's "technically" possible, but only with a substantial change to the way the audio systems work in the player and LAV filter and such.

I'll just drop the subject, thanks for the answers guys!

Developers don't have monitor with such resolution, can't test.

You can perhaps set your GPU output to a custom resolution with that aspect ratio to test.

Windows will use that custom resolution and custom AR, but the GPU will fill the custom resolution to the display's native resolution with black bars (so the display doesn't see a weird resolution)

But should still work for a test since Windows is convinced the custom resolution and AR is real.

Why don't you use mpc-be video renderer, mpc-vr? I think it is much better than madvr, it has great image and video quality, combined with a low consumption of machine resources. I consider madvr v0.92.17 to be discontinued as the developer is now focused on other things. I find it much safer to use mpc-vr, which is constantly updated, especially the beta version.

I have a Ryzen 9 5950x (so no iGPU) and a dedicated RTX 3090. Is it normal that the new line in options dialog "Adapter" is greyed out with this setup? If it is, do you think it would be a good idea to display the name of the one and only GPU in the greyed out box so the user has feedback what GPU is "selected", not much to select when there is only one available but you get the idea.
