Will 2.45 work with DivX 6.7?

BTW: Thanks for all your work on AutoGK, it is a great program.

To be honest I only checked 1-pass mode and it worked OK.

*Edit* 2-passes works just fine as well

If I look at the release notes of the new dgindex (1.4.9), I find this:
Added a warning pop-up to notify the user that a field order transition was detected.

I get it with nearly all the recent dvd's which I am converting with AutoGK and it's very annoying since it ruins automation.
The window stays popped up and AutoGK doesn't continue until you press OK.
You have to stay around until demuxing/indexing is finished because the warning can pop-up.
Even worse for batch encoding.

Thanks.

Man, that pop-up is brutal, it is killing my batch encoding. I am going to have to go back to AutoGK 2.40 if it can't be worked out.

Help!

Thanks

thanks for the upgrade but in going back to 2.4 cause every encode ive done has turned out undersized. my tv eps are 139mb instead of 175mb etc. And yes i did uninstall 2.4 + xvid and avisynth before I installed 2.45 also ran my registry cleaner.

Since I haven't touched anything codec-related in the code, I could only assume that if you don't install XviD that comes with 2.45, then you guys don't have a problem? (I still can't believe after all these years ppl are having problems with installing XviD...)

Where is the link for XviD v1.2 SMP 8.12.2006?

I use other tools besides AutoGK and they want to use the released 1.1.3 version of XviD and do not work with 1.2. So I have to uninstall and install XviD as needed for a particular tool; what a pain.

len0x, but you can simply disable CBR MP3 144 kbps mode ;)
or show warning.

Allowed bitrates for Lame encoder:
32,40,48,56,64,80,96,112,128,160,192,224,256,320 kbs in cbr mode.
Anyway, if you need 144 kbs, why don't you turn on vbr mode?
This is within the specs.

Taurus, I think, it is a problem of AutoGK -
to disable selection which causes a surprising error
after an hour (!) of coding OR just warn about it.
And this can be easily solved.

Pulp Catalyst
4th October 2007, 03:25
well CBR 144 is a weird selection anyway, and does go against normal bitrate standards,

just do waht Taurus said,

and remember there are AVI and DivX standards to consider,

144 is a weird number needed, as Taurus said, just use VBR in this case,

Hi,

I updated to the last version (clean install of 2.45, then the 2,46 update) yesterday and put it to test. When selecting "Use external subtitles" I get:
[06/10/2007 11:17:20] WinRAR is not found. Switching to internal subtitles.
I've also reinstalled (clean install: uninstall, clean registry, then install) the last version of WinRAR and the error still happens.

How does AutoGK "find" WinRAR?

On second thought, I'd like to suggest that instead of "Switching to internal subtitles" it would be better to "Switching subtitles off". If I've selected external subtitles is because I want to be able to see the video without them but now they are burnt in.

Outerspacelord
6th October 2007, 16:20
Seems like a new bug. Same message here after new beta. But subtitles still can be found in the agk_tmp-directory ... so for now just move them from there.
I always check "Use external subtitles" and "Display only forced subtitles". And of course WinRAR is installed despite what AutoGK says :-/

I use the VirtualDubMod that comes in the AutoGK package to edit videos.
I dont' know if the following can be considered a bug, but it gave me troubles.

Let's say AGK has just finished a job that gave an XviD in output.
At this point, in VirtualDubMod the path of the stats file required for XviD's second-pass is the path of the stats file just used by AGK, stored in some "agk_tmp" folder somewhere.

Then you use VDM to do some other editing to another file and want it saved in XviD.

Now, if you run the first pass not minding about the stats' file path, it will overwrite the previous stats file in that "agk_tmp" folder, and this may generate problems in following workings with the first file.

Instead, if you are a VDM newbie (like I was) and run the second-pass without the first you may still have a WORKING second-pass, but with obviously wrong stats derived from AGK's job.
Actually, in this scenario, sometimes you get the message "Stats file not found", other times it begins the job with wrong stats file.

In my case, I was making my first steps with AGK and VDM, mostly assisted by tutorials found on the net. No one of the tutorials I read (and they were many, even from doom9), explained clearly that every video requires a diferent stats file
(now I know it's an obvious thing, but then it wasn't so obvious), so sometimes I got the "Stats file not found" message and other times I got .avi files very exceeding the size I specified and I couldn't figure out why.

So, in the end, I suggest that AGK clears the stats file path after every application of VDM or, at least, it restores the previous value after it has finished using VDM.

I hope I have explained in a clear way.

Using AutoGK 2.47b I've been getting an error---from VirtualDubMod I think---indicating the source image format is not acceptable. This has tended to happen when encoding certain DVD extras, some if not all of which are in 4x3 aspect and interlaced. Interestingly when I've used Gordian Knot (and the same DivX 6 codec) it has encoded without problems. One difference is that in the Gordian Knot process I have specified deinterlacing. Is there something I'm doing wrong with AutoGK?

I am looking for a copy of AutoGK v2.40. I keep getting undersize problems when selecting ESS support in version 2.45 and 2.47b. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling multiple versions of Xvid but it doesn't make any difference. I see there is a lot of complaining about this problem so I don't want to complain; I just want to install an older working version. Thanks.

There's another thread around here mentioning that (1) the size issues is related to ESS stand-alone support, and that (2) one must install 2.45-7 *fresh*, not over existing AGK folders.

--//--

Man, is it balls-to-the-wall GREAT to see active development resuming for this. I always keep coming back to it due to its ease of use.

Now if we could only add MTSC & PAL anamorphic support, adjustable vertical height (e.g., 720x480), and override DAR (so that 720x480 displays at 853x480 like it's supposed to).

Hello,

is it possible to choose the start time and end time to encode?

I have some records of the digital sat television, but there are some minutes before and after the maintitle which i don't need.

What is the best way to get rid of this and encode it with AutoGK?
