No update available for 2.25-->2.26?
Is the patch, mentioned here ( http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=749409#post749409 ), enough for those who already have v.2.25?
len0x
11th December 2005, 20:41
yes its enough. (and no, there is no update to 2.26 from 2.25 since not everybody got that yet - next update(if it will be) will use 2.26 complete as a basis)

...I wonder if we can get this thread to magic number of 200 pages :)I'm doing my part!
Thanks for 2.25 and the follow-up. Here's hoping nothing else is broken and you will have only visions of sugar plums dancing in your head for the holidays! :D

One question...
The new version of Xvid, bundled with v.2.26, is referred as Xvid0041...
In the version bundled with v.2.20, it was Xvid0039...
Does that mean that this build comes from the 1.2-tree?
celtic_druid

No. If it was from the 1.2 tree (CVS head) then it would be 40.
Latest cvs head:
http://www.xvid.org/cvs/chora/co.php/xvidcore/src/xvid.h?login=2&r=1.53&Horde=1a63b09579fb081dab5348a4f8fe24c6
#define XVID_BS_VERSION 40
Latest 1.1 branch:
http://www.xvid.org/cvs/chora/co.php/xvidcore/src/xvid.h?login=2&r=1.51.2.2&Horde=1a63b09579fb081dab5348a4f8fe24c6
#define XVID_BS_VERSION 41
For around 1 day though they were both 40 and 1.1.x and 1.0.x shared a bitstream version for some time.

I am trying to back up the 3 first Harry Potter dvd`s, Pal dvd , I am using 1/3 dvd setting on every movie, and have the Norwegian soundtrack selected (for my kid, dount like him playing around with the original ones on he`s room) The sound is out of sync both on my standalone and pc. This happens both with audio option on mp3 and ac3.

Can someone verify if their "Forced Subs Only" work? I have the option checked and I think it's ignoring it?

Hi,
Check this post, http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=750279#post750279 it may also apply if using latest AGK release ;)
@Len0x, thanks for the update, don't worry about the differences with the new apps, I'm sure we'll find ( or re-use) workarounds until you can settle things ok :)

Grazie 1000 Len0x for this new version of AutoGk.
I'm Italian and don't speak english very well, AutoGk is the most popular conversion Tool in my country and I hope to see AutoGk in next future arrive to support x264 codec.
:thanks: a lot for this great Encoding Tool.
Regards

The LAME included with 2.26 seems to be using a far more VBR method, instead of ABR. I'm getting MP3s with a ABR of 140kbps when I set AGK for 160kbps VBR. Good to see it saving bitrate on lower complexity audio. I'm working on TNG Season 1 which has very low fidelity voice).

I just updated my DivX codec from 6.0 to 6.1. Now AutoGK 2.26 is blowing up before the UI comes up. I've verified this as it happened on two PCs I updated DivX on. Anyone else having the same problem after the update?

I love this app and it is the only one I have found that will give great video and audio sync. I hate to see it go but I hope this can be fixed befor it is trule finished.
As a close, thank you for the work and all the help.

Hello len0x! Thank you for your great application. It has helped a lot...
Doing some audio conversions with belight, I found out that aacplus v2 (winamp) can encode surround in just 128kbps!!! And stereo in just (aacplus v2) 48kbps which -in quality- is equal to (mp3) 160kbps! Do you plan on encoding audio to this format?
Once x264 is a bit better, do you consider on encoding movies with this codec?
Agian, thanks a lot for autogk...

Just a note about further a/v sync problems (yes, I've read all the other threads mentioned): [AGK version 2.2 (I'm a little behind there). Used latest free DVDFabDecrypter (which is updated regularly and supposed to be copy protection friendly). DVD "Immortal". AC3 audio (auto), no subs, xvid.] Problem: resulting avi's audio is out of sync. Used Virtualdub (with AC3 vfw decoder) to re-sync and found the start to be +200ms out & requiring a frame rate of 25.003 fps to be in sync at the end. AGK log deleted but will try the whole process again ASAP with v 2.26. If problem persists I'll also try PowerDVD to see if the ripped DVD syncs OK and eliminate the ripper as the problem. If it does work with PowerDVD, maybe there's a problem with AGK's INF parser? Unless someone else beats me to this investigation or the difficulty is located, or it's already been fixed, I'll get back with my results ASAP (prob. after Xmas).
Merry whatsisname and a happy new thingy to one and all, hohoho etcetc

If you looked more on the forum, you will see the answer...:
do this in divx.dll in windows/system32:
ok new plan:
- get BIEW binary editor
- open divx.dll with it in hex mode
- goto 0008ABCD address (F5) and change(F4) 00 to 07, then update (F2)
- works like a charm :)

Well since the number of threads are hard coded, there is no difference in terms of configuration or use. Even if there was a setting to change the number of threads, it would just mean that AutoGK couldn't adjust it.
AutoGK is bundled with a stable 1.1 build though (it isn't marked as unstable anymore so I guess that qualifies as stable?). The newer builds are 1.2.x which is marked as unstable, for whatever that is worth.

Just a note about further a/v sync problems ...
... and to all of you with audiosync problems. It is probably a ARccOS protected DVD you trying to make a backup of ... AnyDVD or DVDFab Decrypter will not work.
What you have to do for now is to get PgcEdit v0.6.x (http://www.afterdawn.com/software/version_history/pgcedit.cfm) and the PSL2 plugin v2.x for PgcEdit (http://forum.digital-digest.com/showthread.php?t=56078) (go check for updates).
Go to "Settings..." in DVD Decrypter v3.5.4.0 and change File Mode so that it says "Select Files: Main Movie + IFOs" in On Startup. Close DVD Decrypter.
Do not run any programs like AnyDVD or alike in the background.
Now start PgcEdit (with the plugin installed) and run the plugin in Wizard mode. Just follow the instructions.
If everything went ok start AutoGK and choose the IFO with same name as the VOBs. Thats it.
The SUBs will still probably be out of sync. This you can fix manually. I prefer using SubRip (http://zuggy.wz.cz/) to find the syncerror and then fix the SUBs from VobSub afterwards. Go figure ... and yes this part can be boring.

Because you only need the main movie ... Why waste all those extra minutes ripping huge files to disk you do not need? That is why! :)

re: A/V sync issues
It is likely that out of sync audio was the fault of DVDfab Decrypter, hopefully fixed in this month's (latest) version. See doom9 news page for 29th December. Further testing necessary but odds are that occasional A/V sync problems aren't to do with AGK. One post still puzzles me about someone using Nero Digital on the same riped data without sync issues. Perhaps N D performs FixVTS-like operations on the data first?

My experience is that a full DVD could be up to double the size compared to only the main movie, depending on how much extras there are on the disk ... And of course how the faster your DVD-drive is to rip will also help you save time. Some people may like to sit and wait (and wait) and have infinite sparetime :)
If you read my post you wil see that I said it will work "for now". By that I ment that it is not bulletproof if protection is updated ... No offence, I was just trying to help
Will be interesting to see if latest DVDFab Decrypter works again, because it really worked on some earlier ARccOS protections.

If you are ripping the DVD to encode to avi, the additional 5-6 minutes of ripping time is nothing compared to the duration of the encoding process...
And if there is a problem with the ripped files, you won 't be able to notice it before the end of the encoding process...
So my point is...
Why risk a 2-hour encode, by messing with a bulletproof ripping method, in order to save 5-6 minutes??
No offence, I am just trying to help too....

In my case ...
I want to do lets say 3 movies. I wake up late at nite because I have to do my work at night to earn money to pay the faaacking rent. I want and need to sleep those extra 6 minutes :) And I do not sit and wait for the encoding process to finish. Only when I am out of it :) Is it hard to get? We all got different lifes? This is really a funny discussion because I can give you examples and examples and examples why those 6 minutes can mean a lot. Maybe your life would be completly different if you chose to meet somone else 6 minutes ago? Love! Do you get it? I only wanted to help some people who did not undrestand from the beginning that this trick might help them with their sync problem. I think I explained it very short and easy and people did not have to search and search anymore forever ... More love! And a bit of war around ... Fight the landlord!
But ok time is a very interesting theme? Einstein? Shoot the atrist!

Hi,
This is because the mode used by remove grain in AGK is mode2. I believe Kassandro has changed or rearrange his presets, because in the beginning remove grain/mode2 was supposed to be just a little more stronger than mode1 (before that in AGK existed undot(), replaced by removegrain mode=1 than mode=2)
You can still use mode=1 equivalent to undot()
I use mode=5 and am very satisfied with it, less compression than mode2, more details, same speed :D
If more strength needed, I use mode 7,8 or 9 from the pre1.0 removegrain set from Kassandro.
If Len0x had continued his project I would have asked him at one point to consider a change, but for now I just live with it and use AGKPal :)

I have just create an avi with custom size 690 and the final result was 695. is this normal?Yes, this is an excellent result, within 0.8% of the target. You should be happy with that I think.

Has anyone else run into this? BTW, I'm using the latest DGDecode 1.4.6, but I ran into this with the beta released too. Did not have the problem until updated XviD. I'll uninstall XviD and go back to beta and let you know if it goes back to working. Thank you.
[edit]After uninstalling the official latest XviD release and went back to latest beta, I got the same result. I wasn't sure at this point that this problem is even related to the type of encoding. So I tried DivX too and the same thing happened. So it looks like the problem stems from elsewhere.

latest dgindex build changed the way of signaling framerate (fps) into d2v.
I suppose autogk isn't capable of read the new format

Thank you, yes, I was going to do that next, i.e., go back a version. I'll keep you posted. :)
[EDIT] I totally forgot to update this. Going back a version did fix the problem. Thanks for all the help. :)
