Hehe. Good one. Well, I have no control over that forum. So go post there. Or by PM. But not here. Please.
The problems with the R2 Ladder 49 and others with that encryption are already well known. DVDFab Express does it easily. It doesn't have an IFO Mode, though, but only a File Mode. If worse comes to worst, the AutoGK user might have to make an ISO of the files, mount it with Daemon Tools, and then use DVD Decrypter on it in IFO Mode. So maybe AnyDVD is a better solution, but the trial is good for only 21 days before you have to buy it.

Yes, but if you have a way to know which cells to un-check manually, in DVD Decrypter 's IFO mode, then you can rip it without any other tool...
...and that is not difficult with a close inspection of the .IFO file...
But, your point is perfectly clear and i won 't continue this discussion...

Hi bourtzovlakas-
I appreciate your response, even if you thought I was being unreasonable. As it turns out, you weren't the only one that thought I was being unreasonable. I received a PM from Doom9 who made a distinction between posting a complete IFO so someone that needs it for a backup can use it, and your reason for wanting to look at one. So, I stand corrected. If you want to resume the discussion, or if need4speed or evil ryu still want to post one for Ladder 49 or other similarly encrypted DVDs, you'll get no further objections from me. I apologize for the misunderstanding on my part.

Few points:
- mpeg1 sources might contain wrong AR in the stream, so you might wanna override that using hidden options (to force 4:3)
- divx6: its now slightly slower that XviD due to usage of h263 optimized quantization. Also compressibility changed dramatically, so I had to compensate for that to produce approximately the same resolutions as divx5
- DVD mode now requires just *one* IFO file and just *one* vobset to be present in the input directory. Stream info file is still being read though, so if you have working workflow of things it is suggested do not change that. AutoGK may ask you for PGC and Angle number if they are not a part of file name of the input vobset (which they should be).

Does that mean that direct (w/o using DVD-Decrypter) DVD-backup of a multiple-vob movie is still not possible? :(
BTW any link on download page: http://www.autogk.me.uk/index.php?name=Downloads&d_op=viewdownload&cid=4
gives me error 403 - forbidden...
len0x
9th July 2005, 13:08
That means that AutoGK will only be able to process one stripped out PGC/angle due to DGIndex requirements (how you get the that out of DVD dir its not my problem: either use ripping tools (for multi PGCs DVDs) or just copy out one vobs set if it doesn't have any extras).

drumrolls....version 1.12 beta is out :)
I assume this is a typo and someone should correct that to 2.12, or at least correct it on the Doom9 home page because they're probably quoting it from here.

len0x

There is nothing new in RC7 of DGIndex that would affect AutoGK's usage of it (but yes it should work).

Can you post the original .IFO??
Apologies for the late reply.
Guess I cant, but looks like anydvd new versions are coming along faster and faster, already updated twice since my last post.
Seems like R2 dvds protection is updated very quickly lately.

I tried to use 2.12b version on TV recorded DVD's using Woxter VDR-1000 and IFO parsing shows all original PGC's but all of them fails at select showing bad integer $.
Previous version 2.09b works fine with the same DVD.
I used DVD Decrypter to rip only one PGC of DVD and this PGC was used on both versions 2.09b and 2.12b. It only fails on 2.12b, that shows all original PGC's (ripped and not ripped) reporting BAD INTEGER $.

May be it's cuase DVDRipper can't do working IFO ( it's fact ) ??? If you try to run any ifo made by DVDRipper - most of them players can't render ... I think it's not AGK fault ...

forgive me if this BUG of 2.12b has already been posted:
when mounting a directory on a remote computer over network to lets say "x:", given this dir as Input directory, selecting the correct PGC, clicking on OUTPUT FILE --> SandClock Cursor appears for about 1/10 second, TitleBar flashes (focus on / focus off) for the same time. Output File Editbox still empty.
No Adding of Job therefore possible.
DOESNīT HAPPEN when the Files are NOT located in the Root-Dir (Like "X:\MyVobs"). Everything works fine here.
havenīt tested, if this happens with older versions of AutoGK.
EDIT: Same thing happens when using local Computers Root-Dir of a drive. (e.g. "C:\"). Feature or Bug?

No audio option is already there. Why would anyone wants no video in the program that encodes it?..

Hi len0x. I've attached 2 IFO's from TV recordings made by standalone Woxter VDR-1000 DVD recorder http://www.woxter.com/english/index_english.htm .
All Woxter recordings IFO's fails with 2.12b. All of them are ripped by DVD Decrypter to extract desired PGC (not to decrypt), because all Woxter recordings shares the same VOB's set on the disc. All previous versions of AutoGK worked fine, only 2.12b fails.
I can see why its failing (vstrip gives different structure for it, but its fixable), but I'm curios about MPA audio that I would say AutoGK would not extract from VOB sources atm...

Hi,
Just tried encoding MPG1 file to XVID (btw, thanks for that, lenOx) and it seems to be working fine (tried with enforced 4:3 only). I found out that both passes in VDMod are much quicker than encoding a movie ripped from DVD. I managed 25FPS top for DVD source and up to 65FPS for MPG1 file. Why is that? Not that it is a problem but it would be good to know.
Pyniok.

Max resolution of mpeg1 streams is much lower than mpeg2, so with less pixels to encode its much faster process.

After I encoded a PAL interlaced DVD with latest AutoGK 2.13beta, I found a part of the picture on the right was cropped as shown on screenshot, the same problem occured after I tried to force 4:3 AR in hidden options as I thought this could have been a solution. Then how do you know could I solve this?

Hi,
Is there a way not to compress the external subtitles and still take their size into consideration in output size? I'm asking this, because I've just bought a stand-alone DVD player (Magnavox MDV434) which plays DivX files, with external subtitles, as long as they're not compressed.
TIA

When AutoGK is used in batch mode using different hidden options for each file, I have seen all files in the same directory shares only the last hidden settings.
In fact .mono or .sharp are created in the work directory at the moment you select them.
Of course actually you can work with different directories for every file with different hidden settings, but too much temporary files (agk_tmp folders) has to be stored on hard disk.
I think hidden options should be created at the beginning of every batch process but not like now.
In this manner different files in the same directoy can have different hidden settings and temporary information to store is low (only one agk_tmp folder).
It's only a suggestion.
len0x
30th July 2005, 22:24
Hidden options started merely as a hack, so having multiple in one dir was never a plan, especially since they are not linked to a job at all and are read only during job execution.

Open DVDDecrypter. In Tools->Settings->IFO Mode->Create Additional Files, do you have Stream Information checked? You should.

Although it's possible, I suppose, for you to have downloaded a non-copyrighted DVD from somewhere, it's not very likely. Our forum rules forbid discussion or help for such things.
