Did you rip them differently?Yes. I did a second rip just in case, but with same settings.

Then I tried DVD2SVCD on the second disk, and it was out of sync too, so it may have to do with a source authoring problem. However, the source disk played correctly on my standalone.

I finally tried DVDShrink on that second disk. It worked OK, which may again indicate an authoring problem that goes undetected by parsing the IFO by both AutoGK and DVD2SVCD.

Since the same thing has happened to me with other 2 disk sources, like "Angels in America" and "Spiderman the Animated Series", they may be related. It is indeed weird.

BTW, I noticed the new warning on "standalone settings ignored" in Target Quality mode. I presume this must be a limitation of the 1-pass encode.

1-pass if for when you don't care about file size, such as when fitting several clips per DVD.

Would it be possible for you to easily implement a feature that allows users to have a 2-pass, standalone settings applied, quality selectable mode with fixed width? I mean, I'd like to say something like:

Encode 2 pass, 75% target quality, 640 fixed width video, 128 MP3 audio, ESS support, no matter what space it takes.

Do you think this is both valuable and achievable with little effort form your part?

DivX HT profile cannot be set during quant-based encoding and therefore VBV buffer settings will be ignored by the codec (I think I should change the warning because in case of ESS compatibility custom matrixes are still not used in 1 pass mode as well, so at least some compatibility is retained). It is possible to do a comp test with a fixed width and esimate(+-5%) how big file would be and set target size approriately, but I don't think its worth the effort just to make it HT compatible...

r6d2

in case of ESS compatibility custom matrixes are still not used in 1 pass mode as well, so at least some compatibility is retained).Yes, I had noticed that because so far I've had almost no problems with 1-pass, ESS turned on (and therefore using the compat. matrices).

However, some movies still jump/show garbage in high motion scenes (interesting case The Ring Two, opening scene, on the sea/water areas).

Well, thanks anyway. I guess I'll have to do a manual 1-pass comp test to get an idea of the output size for the movie before reencoding it with 2 pass method.

Regards,
r6d2.

I had to repack the installer to fix XviD version. Apart from that nothing was changed in AutoGK itself. If no bugs are found this is gonna become 2.20 stable in a week.

r6d2
25th September 2005, 15:15
I don't know if this qualifies as bug, but I guess you may want to have a look at it.

I got a "Bad D2V file" message last night, and a .bad file was generated. The box wanted me to press enter to continue, which interrupted the batch of jobs I had created.

There is no record of this message on the log file, so this may come from a tool you're invoking.

Regards,
r6d2.

This should not be a problem in 2.18.1 (DGIndex was updated).

Hi,

I love this wonderful program(-compilation). But maybe I've found a bug:

By processing a ripped DVD movie, VDM hangs after 99% finished. In the Windows TaskManager shows "VIRTUA~1.EXE" a utilization of ~75%.

I had only changed the "Predifined size" setting to: "1 CD (700 MB)". All other settings are identical with standard (no change in hidden options).

Here is the file "lastjob.vcf": VirtualDub.Open("L:\\Filme2\\DVD Vampire FSK 18 DE EN\\VIDEO_TS\\agk_tmp\\Vampire 2.18_movie.avs",0,0);

I can only recommend either cutting off end of vobs using technique described in FAQ (Q 6.16) or trying latest VDubMod (put 1.5.10.2 in autogk dir).

Hi.

I've been offline for a while.

I just installed the last AutoGK and found that if I...
1) pick a video (*.mpg, MPEG-2 from a .TS)
2) select audio 1 and audio 2
3) pick options and add as job
4) pick another video (same kind)

then audio selections are not maintained. Didn't AutoGK remember those before? Or is it me remembering incorrectly?

Regards,
Y.

P.S. Len0x, I don't forget about the Spanish guide. Sorry about the delay.

I've only recently started using AGK, but can see it and/or GK will be in my recently used program list for some time to come.

Thanks for all the effort you've put in over the years on it to bring it to the current excellent level. Wishing you the best in the next project that peaks your interest.

The recommended LAME version is now 3.97b1 and the AutoGK bundle should probably be updated with the new version.
Besides offering better quality than 3.90.3 , it's also a lot faster.

You must use the MTK build from Celtic Druid ... (the xvidvfw.dll has to be MTK build).

Heh heh... that was my (small) contribution to AutoGK in the first HiddenOptionsTool :-) Granted, it's only about .0001% of the functionality of AutoGK, but I'm proud to have contribited to len0x's greater vision.

Sorry if this has been asked before, but does anybody know if it's possible to enter a "Custom size (KB)". In AutoGK it's limited to a Custom size (MB), but I really need to enter a specific amound of KB's. Is there somewhere a batch-file or something which AutoGK creats where I can enter it manually?
(Funny though since you can in Gordian Knot)

Take a look at this... http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=744711#post744711

but I really need to enter a specific amound of KB's.

Could it be you completely forgot to give a explanation why you would want to do something uncommonly like that?

Reino
5th December 2005, 12:32
First of all I have an audio file (vorbis Q2) with a size of 11753KB (11,48MB).
I'd like to have an output file (MKV[XviD+Vorbis]) as close to 163840KB (160MB), so that remains 152087KB (148,52MB) for the XviD video part.
But in AutoGK you can't even enter a partial MB size (the 148,52MB), so this is my explanation.

stax76

I still don't know why you want a 160 MB file but never mind.
