Is the website http://www.autogk.net/ down?

I'm getting a hosting ad.

Not anymore, but its still down... I'm really fed up with such hosting solution and I'm looking for a new host. Does anyone can host me for free with phpnuke/mysql? Requirements are 200-300Mb of space (actualy much less, but for backups), upto 20,000 phpnuke hits a day. upto 5-7Gb traffic a month. As I was told phpnuke is too heavy for shared servers, so probably dedicated small server in large datacenter would do ideally. Please PM or email me. Cheers.

Hey len0x;

So I've read many times that you have no plan for a CLI (Ever!), but I'm wondering if you're opposed to someone creating a Pseudo-CLI using macros, etc. What I'm wondering is if you're seriously against any sort of CLI with AutoGK or just don't want to create it yourself. I figured if you are really against it, you might go out of your way to make sure that any macro-control of your program not work by changing the interface to not allow that. If, on the other hand, it's just not something that you want to work on, then you might not mind a Psuedo-CLI being created. (After all - how difficult would the building of AutoGK be if BeSweet or VDubMod could not be controlled except via a GUI?) =)

I hope this question does not offend, as I greatly appreciate your hard work, I too would simply like to contribute back to the community as well by possibly offering something that many people have asked for, and certainly would be useful for me!

Thank you.

I started using AutoGK a long time ago. Now I'm trying to learn GordianKnot.
I was wondering what kind of Audio encoding settings are used in AutoGK.
It would be nice if you could explain them in such a way that I could use them directly in the window highlighted in the below screenshot.

@ nightrhyme

There is an audio logfile in the agk_tmp folder inside your chosen rip folder which contains the info you need.
Just take a look at it and you will see the parameters used by besweet as lenox use it for AutoGk.
Or make yourself familiar with Besweet, there's a nice gui for this absolutely incredible program as well, where you can see and learn all switches and many, many more.
Cheers

Why doesn't AutoGK accept DVDs ripped in File Mode from DVD Decrypter? Where is the difference?

is it possible to set different quality to audio streams?

I want to have the primary stream a good hi-q ac3, but then include the directors commentary as a low-q 32kbps mp3?

See This: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=77941 and this: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?s=&threadid=80659

You may be able to work it using "file mode" in AutoGK and opning the .VOB file instead of the folder as you would in DVD mode.

Yes but DVD Decrypter also decrypts the files when selecting them in File Mode no? I don't see where the difference is.

I kinda am. I don't know that the purpose of pseudo-CLI, but what I'm trying to prevent is bundling AutoGK with DVDDecrypter together for instance (which would be possible if CLI was instroduced).

Look better - AutoGK only works on single PGC stream ("P.S." section in the first link is about that - read it over and over and over...)

Would it be possible to select multiple files (such like a video split across a few 0.99 gb vobs) and autogk would automagically work it out so that you get one avi in the end?

When you got vobs you simbly can reauther an ifo file using ifo-edit

in file mode if you have them properly named *_1.vob, *_2.vob etc. then autogk will pick them all up in one go.

Hmm doesn't seem to work. I have

VTS_01_1.VOB
VTS_01_2.VOB

in the folder and selected the first in file mode. AutoGK only analyzed the first though and is currently compressing it to the target size. The 2nd wasn't looked on, nowhere mentioned in the log.

Encoding now finished, the 2nd VOB was not considered.

You can check manually that DGIndex opens all vobs when you try to load them via "File -> Autoincrement Option". If that doesn't work, then its a bug of DGIndex, but you seem to be the only person having such problem...

Hmm it works in DGIIndex. I'll have to try again and see what's going on.

no, but in auto mode second audio is kept @ 128kbps MP3 though...
(there will be no separate setting for second audio)

first of all, great program!

i have only one problem: your method of finding the winrar-directory with the registry key does somehow not work for me...

could you either explain (again) wich exact key autogk is looking for?

or maybe implement a way to put the path in manually, for example when it says "WinRAR is not found..." (in the advanced settings, for external subtitles) just a button where you point to the directory you installed winrar in.

which version of AutoGK are you using ?

AGK spits out this message immediately after the compression test then aborts. It happens in versions 1.50 and 1.51, but not in 1.44 and earlier. I dont have 1.45-1.49 to test it on those versions.

thop

a problem is also when you're not using winrar (but f.e. winace). wouldn't it be possible to just include rar.exe with autogk?

Hey len0x,

Just wanted to drop a big THANK YOU post for AutoGK. So far I've got about 40 movies encoded for my home media server and the program has worked great. Instant movie access from any pc in the house is awesome!

Thanks again for your hard work, it's much appreciated.

Well it works, it's just that i was mucho confused because nowhere is there any mention of AutoGK using both files. Maybe you should add a line like this or indicate it any other way.

[16.08.2004 19:06:10] Input file: VTS_01_*.VOB

or

[16.08.2004 19:06:10] Input file: VTS_01_1.VOB
[16.08.2004 19:06:10] Input file: VTS_01_2.VOB

All the naming in the agk_temp only mentions VTS_01_01 as well, so maybe there is a less confusing way also here? :)

Any indication would be really great because you're wondering what is going on all the time

well, since its DGIndex that is actually loading vobs and AutoGK has no idea which files are being processed - its impossible to give proper indication to the user.

yep i thought so, but you could easily figure out all the additional files out yourself, and just display them. there is a little risk because you don't know 100% that DGIndex really picked them up, but unless there is a bug or sth. it should always do. does DGIndex really not return which files were processed anywhere?

hm... it looks for HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\WinRAR archiver\UninstallString and replaces uninstall.exe with rar.exe (console version of WinRar has to be there).

Well, from what I see analysis step failed. So try opening _.avs script in VdubMod - you'll probably see what's wrong there (you should no see any video, just 4x4 small parts of it, but my guess you might see an error when opening or trying yo save avi of that script(no compression required))

P.S. or I just noticed that it took 20 min for analysis step - quite OK, but may be interlace.log file is there, but is locked by OS/VDubMod. Can you try encoding again, please ?

I assume there was a syntax change that broke something. Reverting back to 2.54 solved the problem.
