Can somebody tell me why I'm able to use my GeForce for hardware acceleration only in DXVA2 copy-back mode?
Because as far as i remember DXVA Native can work only with ur primary and active vga.
So i guess ur monitor/tv is currently connected to your CPU iGPU.

I have found software only Mainconcept HEVC Video Decoder 5.0.14.053 http://www.mediafire.com/download/kts8845luxkk1xq/mc0416.7z that pretty well for my purposes in DVBViewer - I see online slideshow of all UltraHD channels with good soundtrack when I set SkipPB and sometimes Synchronization Off instead off PTS in Mainconcept decoder's settings.
Why Mainconcept HEVC Video Decoder could not connect to LAV Splitter? Can you correct it because your LAV Splitter much more universal?
I don't use hevc but I decided to watch. VictorLS if you are using the hevc decoding on CPU use http://xhevc.com/en/hevc/decoder/download.jsp I got minus 40% from 80-96% on the CPU (amd 3391x2 hz avx1). With Strongene Lentoid decoder I have ~40% on CPU on Win 32 bit, decoder without opencl with this file. Exemple file: encoder N-80129-ga1953d4 https://www.cubbyusercontent.com/pl/exemple.7z/_1beeecf5357647c5b44a3030b14ae001
UltraHD - hmm, look at, they have decoder: cpu + gpu on opencl.

Why Mainconcept HEVC Video Decoder could not connect to LAV Splitter?
Can you correct it because your LAV Splitter much more universal?
1) Because it was designed so by the Mainconcept developers? :)
2) If you pester the Mainconcept people, then maybe you'll get what you want.
The Lentoid HEVC decoder became "connectable" to LAV Splitter only after I sent an e-mail to Strongene themselves.
I don't have hevc files, I have hevc files, just to see how they look. Me don't need 2-4K. 4K on the CPU is not really use not with vp9, not with h264/avc, not with h265. Maybe can only with cpu frequencies above 3000 Hz Phenom 2 x6 or Bulldozer x8, or multi-core Xeon processors with avx512 4k will work acceptable or not bad. I never thought about it seriously use 4k. About Lentoid HEVC I know about ~8 months.
Video hevc 1080p 25 fps 1000 kbit/sec with CPU load 3391x2 hz avx1 80-96% is too much. With Lentoid HEVC decoder minus 40-56%, decode on cpu.
I have so: Lentoid hevc decoder and lav hevc decoder use the CPU is 30-50% more intensive compared with lav h264/avc decoder (s/w). Checked files with the same resolution and with the same frame rate, and with the same bitrate.

1. Lentoid (last three version) never decrease CPU load on my computer neither in XP nor in 7x64. I don't know why. You can try my files http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1726845#post1726845
2. Only last v2.1.0.2_2015_12_02_r4644 of Lentoid can decode 10bit;
3. Even last Lentoid decodes bad in sat programs like DVBViewer both 8bit and 10bit (like Elecard HEVC Video decoder decodes 10bit in sat programs):
VictorLS I сommented personal message.
Lentoid hevc decoder can't create miracles. Video 3840 x 2160 (4k) 50 fps 30 MB/s this much for normal decode on the CPU. Such video files need checked for 6 or 8 (not logical cores, real cores) core processor with a frequency above 3000 Hz. On their website they have information the test, with a maximum file size of 2560 x 1600 30 fps 32937 Kbit and tested on Win. 7 Cpu i7-2600 8GB RAM from a year 2013.11
With Lentoid HEVC decoder minus 40-56%, decode on cpu, for this file and this cpu: Video hevc 1080p 25 fps 1000 kbit/sec with CPU load AMD 3391x2 hz avx1 80-96% is too much. = ~40% with Lentoid HEVC decoder load cpu for this file hevc 1080p 25 fps 1000 kbit/sec.

I would like these features implemented in LAV Filters: Normalize, Max Amplification 400% and Regain Volume.
Reason is sound is too low for my normal hearing on my sony headphone even with all volume settings on max and loudness equalization enabled in sound manager, equalizer did nothing too.
On ffdshow audio decoder with these settings enabled, my problem is solved but ffdshow is outdated.

Sorry, but there are no plans to offer volume processing like that.

there something is annoying me for awhile what is an advantage for using LAVFilters tMod (http://tmod.nmm-hd.org/LAVFilters/ ) over vanilla builds ?

Taro mentions the differences for his builds in an old blog post.

But that was back in 2014, now sure how the two builds compare today.

Some questions regarding deinterlacing.
1) Is there a quality difference between CUVID deinterlacing and what madVR uses for deinterlacing (which I guess it's DXVA2, judging from OSD info)? In favour of which approach?
2) Is Weston Complex supposed to be lighter on CPU usage than YADIF?
3) Is it supposed to lead to better results or simply different results and one has to judge subjectively?
Thanks nevcariel for all the good work you put in LAV Filters. If you are still in touch with tiben20, tell him Kodi users miss him enormously now that Aracnoz has thrown the towel on Kodi DSPlayer (we were missing him before too but now... it's a desperate situation).

Both use the GPU's deinterlacing algorithms, so should be identical.

Yes.

Different for sure. Worse, IMO.

Both use the GPU's deinterlacing algorithms, so should be identical.Isn't CUVID using CUDA, thus being programmable and potentially different from standard built in DXVA deinterlacing? Otherwise I wouldn't understand why is deinterlacing through LAV only selectable when using CUVID and not when using DXVA2 CP with Nvidia cards.
Looking at your previous posts, do I understand correctly that you place hardware deinterlacing as the best solution?

DXVA deintelancing is possible too with DXVA decoding but lavfilter doesn't support that.
nvidia would be pretty dumb to write two different deinterlancer.
and who said that DXVA decoding can't use CUDA too. the hybrid decoder are using CUDA nearly for sure.

I am sure he saw it
May be it is impossible to realize in LAV Splitter (but I am not believe in this version).

Nev,
Thank you for implementing MVC support in .m2ts container i am happy to report that in your last nightly my 3D .m2ts files are indeed reported as 3D in madvr, BUT (there is always a "BUT" :D ) playback is jerky and picture is often getting corrupt with pixels and recovers after a while.
FYI same movie inside .ssif container is playing fine, the moment i remux it into .m2ts the issue appears.

LAV only supports official Blu-ray m2ts files, if you remux them they probably do not match this strict specification anymore. So, don't. LAV does not support anything else.

Nev,
This is the FILE (http://www.filedropper.com/1_145) and somehow it is working fine in stereoscopic player which as far as i know is using a modified version of your splitter (not sure tho).
If you cannot implement it then i guess i will have to remux all my 3D movies once again with MakeMKV this time.....

Confirm. This file play fine with MPC-BE's Mpeg Source(with LAV Video + madVR = 3D playback), but not with LAV Source.

Well it seems i got issues with 3D,
In order to test it i force MPC-HC to use EVR-CP and enable MVC decoding in Lav Video config.
Indeed Lav Video Decoder reports msdk mvc and since i am using EVR-CP i get a 2D video which is fine cause i am just testing for issues and issues i get.... lots of them actually, picture is getting corrupt and it is never smooth, mind u i am using a .sffi file so no remuxing.
Same video with Madvr and same issues. The difference here is that i have to pay attention to the video since i cannot activate graphs and observe them. But i do notice that max rendering times jump to 100+.
All this with latest stable Lav or the latest nightly, both give me same results.
The moment i disable MVC decoding in Lav Video everything is playing fine and smooth. Go figure.
I will go ahead and download Life Of Pi 3D full bluray and test it aswell.

After futher investigation it seems that tsmuxer is corrupting mvc streams or lav splitter/mvc decoder dont like what tsmuxer is doing to the mvc stream.
I need to perform more tests but by the looks of, it if tsmuxer comes in contact with mvc then lav wont play it smooth. If on the other hand i remux a disc with makemkv or play directly the .ssif file then everything is fine.
Somehow stereoscopic player is able to play my 3d remuxes that were done with tsmuxer.
In any case i will perform more tests, but what i would like to know if Nev is willing to impliment .mvc support in .m2ts files in the future, if not then i will remux all my 3d discs with makemkv.
EDIT: I just now remuxed a movie a movie from .m2ts with mvc included (the one that lav doesnt like) to .iso and after that i remuxed the .iso to .mkv with makemkv and after that lav is working fine. My point is that lav doesnt like it if both h.264 and mvc are muxed into one .m2ts.
So question remains: are u planning in supporting h.264 and mvc muxed into a single .m2ts?
EDIT2: Mpeg Splitter from MPC-BE is able to properly handle H.264 and MVC inside a single .m2ts, so if i force it to be used instead of LAV Splitter then all my remuxes are playing smoothly.

There are no plans right now to support anything but official Blu-ray streams or MakeMKV MVC-MKV files. Remuxing to m2ts makes no sense as you lose a bunch of extra metadata from the Blu-ray structure, not to mention that its really not a good format to store video in, so I have zero interest in such a format.

Just a n00bie question.
How do I force MPC-HC to use separately installed LAV filters instead of the ones that came with it?
huhn
13th June 2016, 07:22
go to option -> external filters add all four lavfilter filter (lav* audio decoder, splitter, splitter source, video decoder) set them to prefer.
alternative or additionally go to options-> internal filters and uncheck everything.
for reason unknown i have to deselect all source filter or mpc-hc is always using the internal source splitter.

13th June 2016, 08:19
Disabling all internal decoders and source filters should be the first step to use system-wide installed DirectShow filters instead. Forcing external filters to be preferred is not necessary.

the number of installed directshow filters on a PC is unknown and there merit too. or with other word other directshow filter could be used for various reasons.
so preferring lavfilter is a reliable way to make sure it is used and not something else.

Reminds me on the duality of necessary and sufficient preconditions in maths. Disabling internal filters is certainly a necessary precondition to have MPC-HC use any external DirectShow filter. Preferring LAV Filters may be sufficient to ensure their use among all external filters, but only if the use of internal filters was disabled first.

I posted on the MadVR thread, thought maybe I should post here as well. I'm trying to get 3D MVC MKV working. I got a small test file from Kodi website and at first I was getting side by side coming up and it was using the mvc decoder in Lav. If I put my projector in side by side mode, it was giving me 3d. I updated my video drivers and now have the 3d option in windows and now when I try the file, windows switches into the 3d resolution. However the image on the screen is now one image but it appears to be just 2d. My projector is locking on and going into 3d mode, but the picture is just flat. I'm not sure what could be wrong at this point. Its also not exiting out of 3d resolution when the file is done.

LAV just performs decoding, it has nothing to do with rendering the video in 3D on your screen. Decoding clearly works as you got 3D in SBS mode. Posting the same question in multiple areas of the forum is usually considered against the forum rules, just FYI.

I wasn't sure which one could be causing the issue. So the lav is using the mvc decoder so its working correctly and I can rule that out correct?

If you got working SBS, then its working fine indeed.
You can always set madVR back to SBS mode to see that.

Hello,
Are HTTP Cookies supported by the LAV filters? It appears they are not supported in my first test.
Akamai sends Set-Cookie with a token in response to a request for a m3u8. If the next request does not have a cookie it is rejected by Akamai as a security measure.
Thanks!

the question was how to use an external installation of lavfilter not how to stop internal filter.
while preferring transform filters is enough for MPC-HC to use them it is not enough for source filters.
while MPC-BE is using the preferred filters even the source filter "correctly".
i guess it is time to ask in the MPC-HC thread.

Please stop with the FUD, the use of the word "telemetry" is entirely misleading. Those are debugging hooks, nothing else, and on top of all things it only applies to executables, not dynamic libraries.

Yes, open LAV Audio settings and under Bitstreaming Formats uncheck DTS-HD and TrueHD and check DD and DTS.
Then open LAV Splitter settings and make sure "Prefer Audio Stream with the Highest Quality" is checked.
