When opening a file (in my case an MKV) using MeGUI it offers to index it using ffms and gives you a choice whether or not to demux the audio. If however, the file contains no audio it's necessary to select the "no audio" option ...

"No audio" should be always preselected in such a case, but nevertheless I found the problem mentioned in 2106 with mkvextract.

2106 [File Indexer] fixed trying to extract audio from MKV files without audio when using the FFMS indexer
2105 [Audio Encoder] show the opening of files in the job progress window as FFAudioSource may need some time to index files
fixed crash when using DTS-ES with NicAudio
2104 [MediaInfo] fixed "File not found" error in the wrapper. Bug #3480347

Are you sure? I just tested this and for me with a video only MKV file the "no audio" option is preselected. Please upload the whole file indexer log file (as there is the media info of the file included).

Not that it's probably anything to worry about but MeGUI 2106 is definitely defaulting to "all audio" for me using my little test MKVs, but the file indexes normally now and the issue I was having is gone. Here's the log file anyway:
http://wikisend.com/download/433176/logfile-12-01-29_05-29-57.log

"No audio" should be always preselected in such a case, but nevertheless I found the problem mentioned in 2106 with mkvextract.

Edit: I wrote a bit about MKVExtract and the way version 2103 seems to produce an error, but not long after I posted it I realized that's what you'd referred to regarding 2106. I'm having a very slow day.....

Thanks for the quick fix.

me too

I add one more bug (I think). Sometimes, I get an error about conhost.exe. This is the software which manages the style of prompt windows in... Windows 7. I get this error when I don't run megui minimized; but not everytimes. When it happens and the next job is mux, mux doesn't work. Also I noticed that mux works again after some core updates, even if conhost.exe crashes.
However, I haven't any error running megui minimized, so it isn't a big problem ;)

Nothing. However, when it happens, I'll read and post it. At the moment don't care about it ;)

LAME needs to be updated once again, though the version number remains the same:

LAME 3.99.4
2012-01-30
Bundle compiled with Intel Compiler 12.1. (32 bit compile updated 20120130 to correct compiler options.)

I've not used megui in about 2 months or so. Have I missed an announcement about update servers or something? I have 2050 and it's saying I'm up to date. SF also has 2050 as it's latest update.

edit:NM, I just changed to the developer server for updates. All fixed...

Interestingly the next "stable" build will be released soon. If no new problems arise it will be released likely during the next weekend.

Do you consider easier launching of AVS cutter before Interlace analysis of AVS creator ?
( for avoiding Interlace analysis of not used video parts, what can lead to improper analyzer suggestion )

As I do not have much time for developing MeGUI I focus on fixing bugs/problems, implementing simple features and features which I need for my personal use (like OneClick). Your feature request does not fit in any of those categories and therefore it is unlikely that it will be implemented by me in the next time. But... of course I will commit a patch so feel free to create the required code on your own.

Hi all

1. Please, add the option "Quantizer for first pass" (select manually - 1...4) when 2-pass encoding XviD.
2. Show you how to properly use fourcc DX50 with two pass encoding Xvid? DX50 doesn't change.

Thanks in advance.. Sorry for my bad english

Don't know if I'm making something wrong, but when converting old
movies dvds to MKV with Megui, the ones with AR: 4:3, without any resize applied,
Megui changes AR to 3:2. No problem is source is 16:9, no matter if AR is 1.66, 1.85 or 2.35.

Instead of giving me around 125fps, MeGUI encodes in 56fps.

Could you please look into this and try to make MeGUI more friendly for users who want to encode using the latest xvid?
Latest xvid is much faster as you can see from the logs (126.24 compared with 83.25)
hi Zathor and sorry for the wrong information.
Latest 1.3.2 xvid_encraw is in fact 30% slower both when encoding via command line and with MeGUI.
The information about the speed of encoding via command line reported by 1.3.2 xvid_encraw is in fact wrong.
I compared the duration of encoding using a stopwatch and concluded that it is slower.
So there is actually nothing to change for you. :)
MeGUI reported real fps whereas 1.3.2 xvid_encraw reported wrong fps speed via command line.

Hi Zathor,

I was hoping for a few little fixups\improvements for the HD-DVD/Blu-ray Stream extractor window.

* Add tick box to use input folder for output
* Allow the whole window to be resized and also remembered on close.
* Allow the Feature(s) and Stream(s) boxes to be manually resized vertically within the window and remembered once the window is closed.
* Allow the Features(s) box to be manually sorted by name and duration, it sorts be duration by default which make encoding episode blurays annoying.

2) Correct. I checked the source code and the FourCC in the settings seems to be ignored in the processing.
1+2) I have no experience with XviD and no idea if this is the intended behavior.

By length descending is the way that eac3to outputs and assigns the F1,F2,F3 etc to the features so that cannot be changed without changing eac3to code.

I agree that this does make episodes difficult to process however I can't see how sorting this will help as there is no guarantee any other sort will determine the correct order.

Most will be in playlist or mt2s order but I have seen some which appear random.

Where there is a single playlist for all episodes you can use the drop down list for that feature to determine the order of the single episode features otherwise always have to start each episode from the menu on a blu-ray player to determine the episode lengths and therefore the correct order. This is of course impossible if more than one episode have the same length!

hi Zathor,

i would like to ask you to integrate the qaac encoder in megui. nero aac is great, i know, but the last listening tests and many users in the hydrogenaudio forum recomment the windows command line quicktime aac encoder.

http://sites.google.com/site/qaacpage/

it is working with eac3to and is not only an alternative to nero aac, but also to flac! because qaac ia an alac encoder, too. - i think, a must have for megui :)

Nice pickup will add this to EAC as it gives AAC alac flac and wavpsck encoding .

I would like to report a bug (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1558755#post1558755), confirmed by tebasuna51.
As request, is it possible to add MP4Box support in MeGUI to extract tracks from MP4/M4V containers?

Thank you.

A feature request.....

Almost every time I use MeGUI to index a file, I find myself wishing I could just run the job, rather than have to add it to the job queue and then run it from there. Which got me thinking it'd be nice if the file indexer also had a "run it now" button, which then led me to wonder if it'd be a fun idea to be able to hold down the shift key (for example) while hovering the mouse over the "queue" button (anywhere a queue button can be found) which would change it's function from adding the job to the queue to just running it.

HeadlessCow
17th February 2012, 17:05
There is an Autostart Queue option in the settings that probably does what you want.

hello_hello
17th February 2012, 17:43
I forgot it was there to be honest, but no that's not quite it.
I know it's only a minor thing, but it'd be nice to be able to autostart an indexing job, queue an encode, autostart the next indexing job.... that sort of thing. Being able to autostart by simply holding down the shift key when hitting the queue button (or something similar) would be a nice touch.... in my opinion.

That's more or less the same functionality like running the job immediately in a temporary worker, isn't it?

It seems you are using an old mkvmerge build. Please verify that you are using 5.3.0.

cengizhan

There is a problem with one click encoder.

do not encode video option doesn't have any effect (it always encodes video to x264) if an avi file (xvid,ac3) is selected as input.

my target is a mkv file containing original video (xvid) and aac track converted from ac3.

Zathor
21st February 2012, 19:41
You should see that in your log:
"Don't encode video" has been disabled as at the moment only the source container MKV is supported

That will change in the future. It will be first introduced there:

Thanks.

i have converted avi to mkv with mkvmerge. megui gave an error during muxing. but mmg.exe successfully remuxed encoded audio to input file which is also a mkv file converted with mmg.exe.

actually megui gives error during muxing jobs with some other cases like mkv files with audio and video only (no subs, no chapters).

Is not a problem with the ac3, seems a bug when only one cut is selected.

I reproduced the problem but with different MeGUI behaviour.

Here the problem is in the first job (cut), BeSplit finish ok generating the desired and correct "zzz_0_01.ac3".
The second job (join) is generated but not executed and any join file, like "E:\movie\Rip\Song 1\kh1w1tgi.5ee" in Aghora log, is generated.

If I request 2 cut's all work fine.

Seems MeGUI must check when only a cut is selected because a second job to join is not necessary.

Then, what do you think?
Is a problem related with OS (XP)?
Or with .NET version? (mine is 2.0)

try to upgrade to the lastest BeSplit beta release...Zathor and you don't have the same version. Maybe that's the issue.

Hi Zathor

I'm not sure if I should post here or somewhere else but, since I use MeGUI, I will write here.
Today I tried to do my first HD h264 mkv encode but it didn't go well.
I captured a DVB full HD recording in a ts file.
The specs are these:
General
ID : 1 (0x1)
Complete name : D:\Dreambox\movie\convertxtodvd\Nat Geo Wild HD - Ultimate Predator (02).ts
Format : MPEG-TS
File size : 3.86 GiB
Duration : 44mn 59s
Overall bit rate : 12.3 Mbps

Video
ID : 513 (0x201)
Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
Format : AVC
Format/Info : Advanced Video Codec
Format profile : Main@L4.0
Format settings, CABAC : Yes
Format settings, ReFrames : 4 frames
Codec ID : 27
Duration : 44mn 59s
Bit rate : 11.4 Mbps
Width : 1 920 pixels
Height : 1 080 pixels
Display aspect ratio : 16:9
Frame rate : 25.000 fps
Color space : YUV
Chroma subsampling : 4:2:0
Bit depth : 8 bits
Scan type : Interlaced
Scan order : Top Field First
Bits/(Pixel*Frame) : 0.221
Stream size : 3.60 GiB (93%)
Color primaries : BT.709-5, BT.1361, IEC 61966-2-4, SMPTE RP177
Transfer characteristics : BT.709-5, BT.1361
Matrix coefficients : BT.709-5, BT.1361, IEC 61966-2-4 709, SMPTE RP177

Audio
ID : 644 (0x284)
Menu ID : 1 (0x1)
Format : MPEG Audio
Format version : Version 1
Format profile : Layer 2
Codec ID : 3
Duration : 44mn 59s
Bit rate mode : Constant
Bit rate : 224 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
Compression mode : Lossy
Stream size : 72.1 MiB (2%)
Language : English

I extracted the audio and video using a HD Streams Extractor and got a mkv file which plays fine.
I then indexed it and tried to encode it using this script which I created with MeGUI:
LoadPlugin("D:\Programs\MeGUI_0.3.5_x86_WithoutInstaller_OfflinePackage\tools\ffms\ffms2.dll")
FFVideoSource("D:\Dreambox\movie\convertxtodvd\T1_Video - .mkv", threads=1)
Load_Stdcall_Plugin("D:\Programs\MeGUI_0.3.5_x86_WithoutInstaller_OfflinePackage\tools\yadif\yadif.dll")
Yadif(order=1)
crop( 0, 0, 0, 0)

Spline36Resize(1280,720) # Spline36 (Neutral)
LoadPlugin("D:\Programs\MeGUI_0.3.5_x86_WithoutInstaller_OfflinePackage\tools\avisynth_plugin\FluxSmooth.dll")
FluxSmoothST(7,7) # Medium Noise

After 4.5 hours I got a file which stutters like crazy.
Instead of 25fps it now reports 50fps.
I also tried playing the avs script using MPC and there it also stutters. Please check the log.

Thanks, but same problem with BeSplit v0.9b8

Is a know issue of FFVideoSource with interlaced source.
Try open the mkv with DSS2 or DirectShowSource.

To be honest I have no idea. If it would be failing in the join part I could create a workaround but for you it is failing in the split part. Can you please try it with the OneClick debug build and send me the log? (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=163399)

I tried both and it stutters with both.
I will cut a short part and upload it somewhere and ask for help.

Don't worry. Maybe the problem is .NET 2.0.

Also I can't update MeGUI OneClick always crash with:

"Could not load file or assembly 'ICSharpCode.SharpZipLib, Version=0.85.5.452, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=1b03e6acf1164f73' or one of its dependencies"
