Hi,

I have recently upgraded from the stable build to the development build, currently running 2057. I have the following problem: when I load an avisynth script, MeGUI automatically picks up the script name for output name, but now the option to insert custom output name is often greyed out. In other words, it often happens that it is not possible to specify custom name for the output other than the name of the avisynth script. It is not always like that, but I was not able to determine any pattern as to when this happens. Am I missing something or is this an actual bug?

EDIT: This also sometimes occurs with the stable build 2050.

I typed this in for the thread search and haven't seen it requested as a feature. My suggestion would be to have a built in screenshot ability to take a still image of whatever is in your preview window. maybe from the preview window you can right click the image and have a menu appear where one option is "take screenshot" and that gives you the option to save that particular frame onto your computer in whatever format you want (jpeg, png, etc.). I guess have the default name of the picture come up as the exact frame number but of course you could change the name to whatever you want.

This would just be much simpler than what I currently do which is prntscrn and open it in paint then crop down to just the preview window.

Please let me know if this is a good idea or if you've already thought of it but decided to leave it out for a particular reason


(side note: is there a way to have a side-by-side screenshot taken? either have two frames next to each other where left frame is before and right frame is after filters? or just one frame where left side of frame is the before and right side of frame be after and I guess a line down the middle?)

If I could point to a directory which has lots of .avs scripts, and then choose a setting for them all (vid/aud) and then do "one click" and choose there mp4/follow-settings-of-profile, and have them all enqued? That'd be SO helpful... I mean, Over past 2 days I've put ~150files to encode... Each file say it take... 5-7 seconds to put there...~1050 seconds... that's like, lets say 20 minutes of just mind-numbingly doing just that operation... Christ...

Sometimes I'll come back to check my encodes, and a queued encode will be processing at a ridiculously slow rate - like .03fps. If I close MeGUI and open it again, and restart the job, it will resume at full speed. But why does this happen? I've noticed it started happening when I upgraded to DGDecNV 2041 but I don't know if that is the cause.

I'm Using the One Click Encoder and DGIndexNV and can't find a way to tell him to use the various DGDecNV commands (Nvidia deinterlacer and so on)
Ex (i'm using MeGUI core v2060):
What i have after he create the AVS file is:
DGSource("D:\Rips\CG\1x03\umibjh2w.lob\VTS_07_1.dgi",fieldop=0)
And there's no way to change it
For my source i would need to use something like:
DGSource("D:\Rips\CG\1x03\umibjh2w.lob\VTS_07_1.dgi",fieldop=1, deinterlace=1)

Am i missing something or it's impossible yet?

Whenever I change or create a new script in the avs script creator and save it, MeGUI tries to reopen EVERY preview window from avs files I have created during the recent program session. I have this issue for a long time so I guess it is a known bug? Will this be fixed any time?



I can not reproduce this to 100% but I am able to get at least one wrong video preview. I have fixed that in 2055 and maybe this fixes your second window as well.


No time yet to look into this issue.

Sorry to report that the issue still exists with build 2065. It seems my problem is still different from the one you could reproduce. However, I learned to live with that. ;)



Another question: when I select "Blu-ray" as target device in the x264 configuration, the Ref-Frames are set to "3" and I can't set it any higher. According to Blu-ray specifications a max. of "4" Reference Frames is allowed. Is this a bug or is there a reason why it's set to 3?

Woah, major breakage with Build 2066.

Completely incapable of encoding the video. It acts like it starts but completely freezes after a few meg is written.

And, once it locks up, I have to go through the task manager and manually force MeGUI closed.

Had to roll back MeGUI to 2065 and x264 to 2106 to get things working again.

@Hotpocketdeath: As long as you do not use fullrange/range you can use 2066 together with 2119 (and 2065 with 2106). Please try that so that we can find out if MeGUI or x264 is causing the problem. If using the x64 x264 please try also to use the x86 one.

@Hotpocketdeath: As long as you do not use fullrange/range you can use 2066 together with 2119 (and 2065 with 2106). Please try that so that we can find out if MeGUI or x264 is causing the problem. If using the x64 x264 please try also to use the x86 one.

Well, I'm at work now, so I'll need to check the settings when I get home, but I know I have fullrange enabled.

And error-sound! "Incomplete configuration" "please select input and output file" ummm... I though I ... Umm.. wha? ok, let's see what goes next... I hit ok... If I hit "go" it still gives me the same, so lets click the "output file" it only lets me choose a file name, not a directory :(. I gave it a name, and it qued jsut 1 file... *sighs*

Anotehr problem is that it's only MKV, no mp4 option :(.

Yes, that’s the desired behavior. After the file has been preprocessed the next file will be queued. The reason is that you do not need so much temp space on the HD that way.


Anotehr problem is that it's only MKV, no mp4 option :(.

Removing human intervention is kinda key for me, Yesterday night I've put ~89 files for encoding... Still is being encoded... Which is great, no intervention by me besides the initial queing... If that can be removed, I'd be SOOOO much happier.

It is already working that way. All of the later files are processed automatically.

I do not create MP4 files myself but when you select MP4 in the OneClick profile (and maybe removing the MKV option) you files should end as MP4 files. If not please post the log after you have selected one file in the OneClick tool.

when I select "Blu-ray" as target device in the x264 configuration, the Ref-Frames are set to "3" and I can't set it any higher. According to Blu-ray specifications a max. of "4" Reference Frames is allowed. Is this a bug or is there a reason why it's set to 3?

Assuming your input is PC range, you'll need to enter "--input-range pc" to Custom Command Line, otherwise x264 may detect your input as TV range and perform a range convertion from TV to PC. However, I tested x264 CLI without --input-range parameter and it did convert range but didn't hang like with MeGUI, so the problem seems to be a MeGUI bug.

It seems the problem because MeGUI don't know how to parse this line:

--range PC caused my lockups. I had to switch it over to auto to get things to work properly.

Revision 2068 does fix the hang with --range pc. However, the better solution would be add input-range option to x264 configuration dialog because x264's range auto-detection is still not accurately (it may detect PC range as TV range and perform a range convertion, causing wrong result).

EDIT: Or maybe MeGUI should auto add "--input-range pc" when users choose --range pc. Because when a user chooses --range pc, he must be aware that his input is PC range, I think.

Is there any chance that MeGui will support DGAVCDecDI?
Or is there a way to replace DGDecodeNV with DGAVCDecDI?

As it is now, when I try to open a h264 .ts file in file indexer, MeGui seems to use DGAVCIndex, which is old, and cannot demux multiple audio streams at once.

And when I index the file "manually" with DGAVCIndexDI.exe (creating a .dgi file), and try to open it with AVS Script Creator, I get this error:
AviSynth scrip error:
LoadPlugin: unable to load "<path to megui\tools\dgindexnv\DGDecodeNV.dll"But that is natural since I don't have a Nvidia GFX card.

If there currently is no way to use DGAVCDecDI in MeGui, consider this a request :)

Calculeted SAR wrong in some cases.
With non standard input DAR 2.341 (1920x820 I Robot Bluray) aproximate the value to 2,35 and uses
global MEGUI_darx = 47
global MEGUI_dary = 20
The resulting sar is 1269:1280 (par 0.993) but, with 1920x820 it should be --sar 81:82 (par 0.988) istead.
