Normally i remux to MKV, but i would like to index the TS files directly.

IIRC opinons around this and other forums suggest that ffmpeg is called out being not too savvy when it comes to .ts, (may change with every build),
so many softwares based on ffmpeg might suffer the same fate. Therefore my suggestion for the cases of .ts, .MTS, m2ts.
After demuxing with tsMuxeR even indexing the resulting raw streams themselves may be more successful.
If nVidia GPU is available: DGIndexNV would be the gold standard, also for straight indexing/decoding .ts, .MTS, m2ts.
Is already inside MeGUI, just enable/select it.

I updated my MeGui today and for some reason my d2v created via DGIndex can not be opened anymore. Worked flawelessly all the years before. Did anything change?

The AVS Script Creator says "The file ...d2v can not be opened. Error Message: The video stream can not be opened."

Did you possibly move the ripped VOB files from F:\... to another location after creating the d2v index file? (And F: is a harddisk, not the DVD drive?)

And ... maybe the new DGIndex/DGDecode need a different project ID number (DGIndexProjectFile16 may be obsolete)?

From all of my research, this is categorize as a bug, right? I always encode by the same setting, never tick deinterlaced and interlaced mode alyaws none. And i always got progressive result scan type after encoding done. But, after i update all of plugin at Megui Developement Server, i always get MBAFF scan type and it makes the video looks blurry and interlaced. I will test again with my previous backup and not update anything to see the different and then i'll update in here

Update:
Yes, my backup version still good as ol'day. When i check mediainfo, it's still Scan Type Progressive, but when i update MeGUI DEV Server, it will change to Scan Type MBAFF which make video blurry or interlaced.

Can anyone explain me what exclamation marks mean in relation to [Warning] Unknown line: "Keeping dialnorm" and [Warning] Unknown line: "Running in fast mode"? I'm keeping everything up to date but I've noticed these notifications few weeks ago. Using MeGUI for eight years and never seen these.

I guess this means that the output contains text lines which the interpreter did not expect and cannot retrieve useful information from. But that is not fatal. They are just ignored.

All of these blurays aren't interlaced. Never seen those notifications before.

A combination of PAL resolution (576 lines) and NTSC frame rate (24000/1001) is pretty nonsensical too. Maybe that is a reason why x264 assumes interlacing. Or because Avisynth assumes it already.

Do force the encoder. And choose a valid combination if you want a result which complies to usual video standards (this combination does not).

I haven't been here in ages and I haven't touched any video encoding stuff for even longer. I have launched MeGUI today and noticed the last update was over a year ago, so I'm wondering, is it abandoned and perhaps a new fork is being generally used instead? Can you give me some very basic directions please?

There is an MeGUI-x64. But in general, yes, MeGUI was developed while DVD Video was the state of the art, but not much more since HD video appeared. Other tools have been developed more actively, e.g. StaxRip.

I do not want to say that MeGUI (x86 or x64) is not useful anymore. But it may be a bit more restricted to SD resolution workflows than other tools with HD workflows in mind from the beginning.

Oh I just wanted to convert some videos from my phone so I could shrink the size a little bit. There are online converters, but they are limited and I have no idea about quality.

But I'm all ears for modern universal enough solutions. I'll google this StaxRip. But maybe there are simple ones good enough for my application? I really have zero interest in ripping films. I just want a simple and effective way of doing something with videos from either my phone or camera (those come fairly large IIRC).

Oh and I couldn't get any results for "MeGUI-x64". Is that the actual name of the program? Or did you mean it's 64bit version of MeGUI that's called the same, but has different source?

The most recent MeGUI has two flavours (https://github.com/Kurtnoise-zeus/megui/releases), the very original tool was only a 32-bit application.

StaxRip (https://github.com/staxrip/staxrip/releases) is a lot more complex.

For your simple needs, something like clever FFmpeg-GUI (https://www.videohelp.com/software/clever-FFmpeg-GUI) may already be sufficient.

I need some help with Megui giving me this error when I'm encoding, I've narrowed down the problems to either mt_merge or fft3dfilter causing the error as the rest of the script works fine when those aren't used. I've tried different codecs and versions of megui but I haven't had any luck I'm really stumped and if anyone could please help me with this error.

That’s just the name of the folder, this is just me doing an encode for myself.

When browsing for a folder, I would love if it was this type of file dialog and not the tree where I have to click all around to the drive/subfolder/subfolder/subfolder when in the above example I can quickly type or navigate to C:\Foo\bar with ease.

I'm seeing this error regularly when processing the last video in a folder batch job. It halts processing of the job, but goes away on left mouse click, which appears to resume processing without error.

Can anyone please tell me what is causing the error, and how to prevent it?

Hi, Happy New Year to everyone!

I'm using MeGUI 6.6.6.6 v20241125-x64 to re-encode some MKV's (with x264 and EAC3 and SRT's in them).

I start off by opening the AVS Script Creator window and dragging the MKV file onto it, which then in turn opens the File Indexer sub-window (all as expected, no issue). Then, using DGIndexNV as a file indexer, when it starts, it extracts the audio stream, and of the SRT's, then goes about creating the index (again, all as expected, no issues). However once that completes, and the AVS Script window reopens, ALL of the .SRT files somehow get automatically deleted, leaving only the demuxed EAC3 stream.

Is there a setting I'm missing to NOT delete the demuxed SRT's? Since that is happening, I have to manually use another stand alone tool to re-extract the SRT's so I can add them in when I use the AutoEncode tool.

As far I know, there is no such settings to keep demuxed subtitles because it was mainly developped to get only A/V streams...

And since I don't own a nvidia card, I cannot debut DG stuff yet.
