Zathor, have you taken a step backwards from MeGui, or could we still expect some of your brilliant work to MeGui in the future ?:)

Thanks for not replying, it's the best way to express the truth.
I hope MeGUI will not fall back in the buggy mess it once was.

I hope MeGUI will not fall back in the buggy mess it once was. He said "I have not much time at the moment". What do you want, a personal telegram?

Your impertinence is shameful.

i must have missed that version. :)

megui has been awesome for years. the problems of 1057 were really blown out of proportion, it was 100% usable with some awareness of the commandline even with latest x264.

thank you zathor, shartooth, kurtnoise, and all!

- (zathor) [FileIndexer] improved handling if DGIndexNV is not available
- (zathor) [MkvMergeMuxer] header compression is disabled for all tracks
- (zathor) [MainForm] slightly tweaked file\open

don't know if this was mentioned anywhere else.

i can get megui to reliably crash by unchecking "open preview after avisynth script selection". it will crash either as soon as i load an avs file or as soon as i click on the enque button. hope this helps.

my script if it matters:
LoadPlugin("c:\program files\megui\tools\dgindexnv\DGDecodeNV.dll")
dgsource("D:\tmp\12.dgi")

My MeGUI doesn't crash after unchecking "open preview after avisynth script selection" and loading an avs file/enqueue, but my script is different though.

Thanks for the report. As it seems to be no general problem please describe the crash in more detail (e.g. post a screenshot or the log if possible)

It seems that custom profile: vbvsize, vbvmax, vbvpeak values are not loaded properly in "XviD configuration dialog". Upon loading the preset, they always come as zeros. Values are properly saved in xml preset file, and they are properly applied when preset is chosen without entering configuration dialog.

There is a bug with autoupdate. In http://megui.org/auto/ there is x264_presets_v52.zip, but with autoupdate Megui see only x264_presets_v51.zip.

btw... something trivial... maybe you can do an [(filecount!=1) ? ' are ' : ' is ' ] + ' ' + [ (filecount ==0 ) ? 'no' : filecount.toString() ] + ' file' + [ ( filecount !=1 ) ? 's' : '' ] sort of thing

It's just visual but it should also be very easy to implement

sorry to bother you zathor, just wanted to inform on newer findings.

the crash that i reported a few posts back seems to only happen on my desktop and not my laptop.

i have all codecs and what not configured the same so i guess i'll just blame diff hardware.

i do know that it happens when i use dgindexnv in my script. could it be because of diff vid cards? one uses a gtx285 and the other a gtx260m

Warning with MkvToolNix 4.1.0

Eac3to don't support tracks with "header removal compression" and HD Stream Extractor don't work with these tracks. Tested at least with dts tracks.

Please add eac3to v3.24 (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1426354#post1426354) to solve the problem after MkvToolNix 4.1.0

Thanks.

Do you use the same graphics driver on both machines? Can you open the avs file with other tools like VirtualDub?

Are you using the latest build of DGIndexNV (2024) and are you able to index your file using the MeGUI\tools\dgindexnv\DGIndexNV.exe without problems?

just wanted to report that i have fixed that wierd crash i was getting. the cause, at least in my case, was nvidia 258.96 drivers using the script i posted earlier. if i used a script that the megui avs script creator spits out i get no crashes but i wont go this route because i like neuron's tools so much. so the only solution i came up with was to rollback my nvidia drivers to the one that win7 update recommends and voila problem fixed no more crashes.

ffms2 updated to rev 325 (dev build).
please test.I've had a test and there seems to be a problem with the reported frame rate.

v3.25 reports 23.9091908091908 FPS
v3.18 reports 23.976 FPS (which is correct)

best to rollback to v3.18

3.18 has problems with mkv files with header compression.
so, dont know what's better...
however, i'll update ffms as soon as it gets fixed.

header compression will be re-enabled when the majority of devices will support it.
however, with the new tools updates, megui now supports MKVs with header compression as input.

Any way we could get an option/check-box to use FFaudiosource instead of Nicaudio?

I sometimes get an error using built in MeGUI audio encode functions:

Hello again.

I have 2 questions:
- I just bought DGIndexNV, but now, when using File Indexer, it is not possible to Select Tracks anymore, just No Audio, or All Tracks. Is this a bug, or design? It is a nice feature I would like to see continued.
- In the past, in the Bitrate Calculator, when I made my own file sizes, they would stay there. But now, no custom made file sizes are "staying", so I have to keep entering the numbers every time. Bug or design? This too is a feature I would very much like to have continued.

Thanks again.

I've just hit an issue - running the bitrate calculator for a nero-acc audio file I just encoded causes an "index out of bounds" error. The audio file plays no problem. Any idea why this is or if there is a fix?

I just would like to ask if this "stable" branch is ever going to get updated, or are users advised to switch over to the development branch and forget about the stable one ?

Zathor
28th August 2010, 00:29
A new stable build will be released every once in a while as soon as a development build is declared "stable". There are no timeframes for such a release - there may be months between stable builds or days. If you want to have the newest tools / functions and want to help us in reporting problems / feedback, then switch to the development part.

I was of the idea that Sharktooth had taken over all work on MeGUI and the development branch was the only branch that would still get updated.:)

The messagebox will show this: "There are updated files available that may be necessary to MeGUI to work correctly. Some of them are binary files subject to patents, so they could be in violation of your local laws if you live in US, Japan and some countries in Europe. MeGUI will let you choose what files to update but please check your local laws about patents before proceding. By clicking on the 'Yes' button you declare you have read this warning.
