With the new version, all my muxed files have a (1) at the end of the filename. i.e., "movie(1).avi"

I'm using megui 1989, and use mkv muxer to mux .h264 and raw .acc to MKV, but after process, status is error. But the mkv output file seem fine, everything is ok, no problem. P/S: mkvmerge (come with megui) 4.5 or 4.6 still got this problem :(

The default output device type splits files at 2GB and therefore a (1) will be appended for the first file. You can revert to the old behavior (no split, less compatible with SAP) by switching to PC device type.

I don't use AVIs over 2GB, so I don't need split files. It is annoying to remove the (1) from each file. I do use stand-alone players, so I can't use the PC device type.

Would it be possible to not append the (1) to jobs under 2GB?

If you did not had problems with the created AVI files and your SAP with MeGUI < 1979 you can switch to PC without problems as this was the default before 1979.

Bug:
"Zones" button isn't enabled when the .avs is loaded into MeGUI automatically after saving script from AVS Creator.
It is only enabled when the user manually load the .avs into MeGUI.

is it possible for the AviSynth creator to open FFMS indexed blurays at there native resolution and not maximised?

e.g.

When i open a 1920x1080 bluray in AviSynth creator on my monitor, it opens at 2560x1440 when it should open at 1920x1080.

EDIT: I can work around this by clicking the Re-open original video player button, once it has initially loaded the video input.

I have problems in encoding HD Streams that were recorded by me with my Technotrend HD TV-Card. I have no problems encoding SD stuff from it.
The Streams are MPEG-TS with AVC encoding, 1280x720 px, Bitrate 2700 Kbps, 50 fps, ColorSpace YuV.

I use the File Indexer that gives me a dga-file. After that I create an AVS file and try to start encoding.

After a short period of time (depending on the stream), the video encoding stops and the log says:

As already mentioned, I have no problems with SD streams. With them I use ProjectX to demux, Cuttermaran to cut and MeGUI to encode.
What did I do wrong?

The video player cannot be maximized and therfore the player should never be bigger than the original size. Sadly I cannot reproduce your problem. As my monitor is only a 1080p one I cannot test with 1080p input files but 720p ones are working without problems.

With "interlace fix" you are refering to replacing --interlaced in x264 mode with --tff or --bff? This will be implemented soon. Bitrate calculator is the problem with M2TS and non AC3 audio tracks, correct?

Yes, I am aware of that. But my link pointed also to other (older) builds of vsfilter which are newer than the version you provided. But we can try the old one.

I think I have made a mistake by comparing the version number, just realize the 1.5.*.* is meant for the MPC version number.

I shall try to do a test with the sample files provided on SF with the newer VSFilter provided in MPC and report back.

Edit: Did a test with the sample files provided on SF using the current VSFilter in MeGUI which uses the latest VSFilter from MPC.
Hardsubbing works fine for me.

I guess it is okay to leave the more recent build of VSFilter in MeGUI.

If you are using .ass, you can modify the font size by opening the subtitle in notepad and edit it yourself.

Before posting some stupid feature requests I'd like to ask some questions to see which of them are reasonable and which not.

1) In the scrip creator: Why is resizing limited to 720 in the width? Shouldn't it allow for full HD resolution?

2) When processing anamorphic cinema-scope input (e.g. 720x576 video, with 70 pixel top and bottom border, identified as ITU 16:9 PAL): After auto-cropping and checking the anamorphic encoding box, the resulting video turned out to have 720x304 resolution.
Why isn't it possible to get the original height (minus cropping), thus keeping all the original lines but only stretching them in the width at playback (since that is what gets done anyway). I was kinda expecting a resulting video with 436 height and whatever width matching to it.
Would this be possible? Maybe with a simple check box? Or are there good reasons for not allowing this?

3) Would it be possible to add options for keeping the original video and audio data but still allowing for trimming? Or does that require external tools?

4) Currently the whole vob file gets analyzed and with this settings the encoding gets started. Would it be possible to first trim the video in the avs cutter and then analyze it? Thus getting the best default settings for the intended video part?
I'm asking this because recently I had two music videos, both anamorphic, interlaced (hard telecined) and 720x480 NTSC data at 29,79. The first resulted in a 29,79 fps and the other in a 23,79 fps video. The reason is probably that in both vob files were more than just those clips. In the one however all video was interlaced and at 29,79 and in the other the second part of that file was progressive, thus the analyzer said 'partly film', whereas the the interesting part of it would have been completely interlaced.

5) I just toyed with VirtualDubMod and found the filter preview window that is showing the original video as well quite nice. Would something similar be possible?

5b) Adding filters by clicking (and previewing the result) would also be nice. But I guess I'm dreaming here. ^_-

6) Also I still have trouble understanding the result of cropping on the resulting video size / aspect ratio:
I have a video (720x480 anamorphic) where I crop 4 pixels left and two right. I would have expected the resulting video to be just about 6-8 pixel smaller in width than the original, but the result turned out to be wider than that (about the size of the height of the window title bar more in width).
Still being a noob I was expecting that if I start playing the original file and the encoded file in 1:1 with MPC that if I move the windows to match the pixels should about exactly map 1:1 as well, thus keeping the aspect ratio perfectly fine without any distortion.
Unfortunately that isn't the case, ans so far I could not get the expected result even when setting the DAR in the script manually.
Is this a bug? Or am I mistaken and the expected result can not be achieved? If not, what is the best that can be achieved?
BTW: where can I read about the math involved that MeGUI/AviSynth needs to do to create the script. I like to understand what is going on here.

Hmm... MPC and VLC player both show it as 720x304. I only checked the anamorphic box and then hit auto-crop as well.

Currently I'm still troubled with even more basic issues. It was only a very convenient way to actually see what a specific filter does. Once you know that there probably isn't much use to it anymore.

Nice to know. But I think there was one problem: AFAIR when you refresh the preview (not reload the video) the position in the playback window is also changed back to its initial position. It would be nice if the position would not change at all.
Another idea would be to add a horizontal slider that separates the window in a left and right part, one showing the original video and the other the resulting one. I saw something like that somewhere and it was the most convenient idea I've seen to handle those type of preview problems.

Yes, it allows for mod 4 on the lower end.
(BTW: resize in the sense of cropping or scaling?)
