Just a note: It's from the conversion to free version that I can't use anymore DGIndexNV with MeGui (Development version 2924)
After the indexing completes the .dgi project can't be loaded into AVS Script Creator with "Error Message: The video stream cannot be opened"
Am I missing something ?
Thanks in advance
Maurizio.
EDIT: I edit myself, I understood the issue. The binaries comes with x64 version in root folder and x86 in subfolder. If MeGui is x86 you have to replace the x64 binaries with x86 ones (like with avisinth).
Thanks anyway.

Just a note: It's from the conversion to free version that I can't use anymore DGIndexNV with MeGui (Development version 2924)
IIRC, when installed DGIndexNV {free} in MeGUI and have not had previous license, then having "Enable DGIndexNV" in settings, puts up some kind of
"not licensed for this machine", or similar, I just untick that box and use via Avisynth LoadPlugin [or in system installed Avsiynth plugins autoload directory],
I dont use MeGUI for anything other than x264 encode with pre-existing avs scripts
[no MeGUI deinterlace or whatever else], so makes no difference for me now I know of the problem.
[EDIT: Its probably MeGUI putting up that error message rather than DGIndexNV]
[Dont know if it will work if you just put it in the MeGUI avisynth_plugin's directory, with that box unticked, however if you have system wide Avisynth set up, put in its plugins dir]
EDIT: And thanks for flagging the new DGDecNV_237 link [you're slipping kedautinh12 :) ].

I posted this as a ticket over on SourceForge originally but probably should've just posted here :P
Muxing to .264 to .mp4 uses decimal fps when it should use fractions. This only affects raw .264 streams and not existing mp4 files as mp4box gives a higher priority to the framerate embedded in the mp4 file vs the command line arguments.
After encoding a 24000/1001 fps video and muxing to mp4, MediaTab shows:
Frame rate: 23.976 (23976/1000) fps
Original frame rate: 23.976 (24000/1001) fps
When it should show
Frame rate: 23.976 (24000/1001) fps
This appears to be due to MeGUI sending a decimal frame rate to mp4box when it should be sending a fraction
Currently:
"C:\Programs\MeGUI\tools\mp4box\mp4box.exe" -add "D:\test.mp4.264#trackID=1:fps=23.976:par=1:1:name=" -tmp "D:\Temp" -new "D:\test.mp4.mp4"
What it should be for fractional frame rates:
"C:\Programs\MeGUI\tools\mp4box\mp4box.exe" -add "D:\test.mp4.264#trackID=1:fps=24000/1001:par=1:1:name=" -tmp "D:\Temp" -new "D:\test.mp4.mp4"
But it may also have something to do with the log showing MediaInfo (always?) returning a decimal frame rate rather than the fractional frame rate.
A workaround is to force x264 to use the internal mp4 muxer via the --muxer mp4 switch (MeGUI will give it a .264 file extension but it is still an mp4) as x264's internal mp4 muxer outputs the correct 24000/1001 frame rate.
Btw, is there a reason why MeGUI isn't using x264's internal mp4 muxer during the encoding step when mp4 output is requested? Could this be changed?

Can MeGUI be updated to work properly with the latest DGIndexNV?
MeGUI still throws a message about a license.txt file. DGIndexNV being free now, on itself this can be solved by putting an empty license.txt file in dgindexnv folder.
I can't import a hevc elementary stream in the indexer. It says "No indexer for this file found!"
And with hevc in a container, DGIndexNV is greyed out.
[EDIT] Sorry videoh, you beat me to it. Didn't read until now.

Hello,
just to let you know, it seems that chaptersqp.exe is identified by the heurystic algorithm as a virus HEUR/AGEN.1144333 and imediately quarantined. It happened to version 2.37 and 2.38.
I'm totally sure it's not... but perhaps it happened to others.
I just submitted the file to the Avira Suspicious site to unblock it.
Regards.
EDIT -> Result from Avira:
The analysis you requested is now complete:

I'm willing to try to fix this issue but would like to start from the latest code base. Is 2924 the latest or are there forks I should know about?
EDIT: Found 2927 code base. I'll start from there.

Zathor is the only one that works with MeGUI at this time to my knowledge and he's very busy. He said to post issues etc over at the Soureforge page since he rarely comes here any longer.
Try and contact him over there Donald and see if he gets back to you.

vh,
would be lovely if dgindex/dgnv thingies went direct to the same directory as the right click openwith
on filetype VOB whatsit, real pain navigating to the same directory the openwith vob was loaded from [every time].
[just my little suggestion to make a little less frustrating - no i aint gonna go to dg site to suggest ,me is awkward, and in the pub on tablet]

when rightclick openwith on vob [edit; via windows explorer], but, more vobs for complete set, need to go to the open vobs something[maybe f4 or f5], then do delete all, open, select all vobs, [edit; select all vobs manually] then ok.
dont have in front of me and sobriety challenged.
just [edit; windows explorer] "open with" on one of a set of vobs, and follow your nose.:)
edit; indeed in windows explorer select all vobs then "open with" on dg..., only one is opened in dg..., long directory traversal to get the complete set that you wanted.

@SS
When I select more than one VOB in explorer there is no right click Open With. It appears only when just one file is selected. Anyway...the correct way to do things is highlight all the VOBs and then simply drop them onto DGIndexNV or its shortcut. I drop on the desktop shortcut, it's a doddle.
@all
I created an issue at MeGUI sourceforge. I have all the files modified and tested but I am not a listed developer so cannot directly submit them. Also, I'm not sure I'm building everything in a kosher manner. So hopefully, zathor will reply and take things from there. My changes eliminate the license check and add support for HEVC in elementary streams and containers.

Hi. I've used MeGUI 32 bit for years along with Avisynth (installed in C/Prog Files x86). I have an avsi file with some custom functions which is kept in Avisynth's plugins folder. Those functions work with MeGUI 32 bit even when MeGUI's "Always use the included avisynth" box is ticked (don't understand why that is but nevermind...)
Today, having discovered that there's a MeGUI 64-bit, I downloaded it. I copied the avsi file and put it into MeGUI-64/tools/avs/plugins. It didn't work ("There is no function...") So I put the avsi file into MeGUI-64/tools/avisynth_plugin as well. Still not working. Tried ticking and unticking "Always use the included avisynth" but makes no difference.
Can anyone suggest what I need to do to get MeGUI-64 to acknowledge my avsi file? Many thanks.

Hi kedautinh12. The error is "There is no function named xxx". I'm trying to use the same avsi file that works with my old 32-bit MeGUI. Let me put the question this way: Does MeGUI allow you to add your own avsi file (containing functions) to it's own version of avisynth? If so, where exactly do you put it?
StainlessS
12th December 2021, 11:46
Suggest untick "Always use the included avisynth", and separate install of Avisynth+,
X64 MeGUI requires x64 Avisynth and x64 plugins.
you'll also need the newer Avs+ avisynth wrapper.
https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1956915#post1956915
Put your avsi in your system installed plugins, directory

The error is "There is no function named xxx".
That not help at all, please zip and attach the log file (see in MeGUI64/logs).
Let me put the question this way: Does MeGUI allow you to add your own avsi file (containing functions) to it's own version of avisynth?
Only if you have the same plugins 64 bits versions than in your 32 bits versions and you have correctly instaled the 2 Avs versions.
It is not a MeGUI problem it is related with your Avs instalation.

Hi. I've just started using MeGUI 64-bit/avisynth+ 64-bit. It's worked fine on a couple of mp4 videos.
I've just tried to load up an mpg clip (of a type that works fine with my x86 MeGUI) and after the index process has completed, the preview is telling me that the video is twice it's actual duration. There's a green frame after every actual frame. The MeGUI log is attached. Hopefully, someone can identify the problem. Many thanks.

The AVS Script Creator preview window seems to be cropping the right side of the image frame.
I experienced this when I upgraded to MeGUI 2928 and DGIndex 2005+. I went down a rabbit hole trying to get the Index to work (fake license file/manual upgrade/enable NV version/etc) so my recollection of all the steps I took is a mess, but I can say I experienced the problem once I upgraded beyond MeGUI 2924 + DGIndex 2002. I just restored back to those versions and the crop preview is now correct.
The crop was about 6 pixels from the right edge, which in my case happened to correspond to the black pixels on that edge of the frame. When I encoded that the black pixels were included in the mp4. I confirmed the crop spinner was set to 0 in the Script Creator window. If I'm remembering correctly I think I tried clicking the right spinner up a few times (0 to 2 to 4 pixels) and surprisingly noticed no change to the preview image on that edge.
