Thanks, I have adjusted last year the "Swap --me umh for --trellis 2" part, but it seems I have missed the --b-adapt change
Thank you! Should I post this issue in the Project page?

No, it is already fixed in 2788. But I wait for other changes before I upload it.
Btw you will have to reset your profile to defaults or it will stay with --b-adapt 2. So only new installations/profiles will have that changed value.

Thanks, that is strange. Could you please epxlain what you are doing? E.g. where is the mpls file located which you select (or do you have selected something else?)? Is this a proper Blu-ray strcuture? Do you get the popup asking you which playlist to choose? ...
Morku

Hm... I start MeGUI, go to Tools, AVS Script Creator, Video input and select the mpls. After few seconds it asks for decoder, I select File Indexer. Than the fatal error occur.
Normally I was able to pick between LSMASH, DGIndexNV etc. and add to Queue.
Yes, it's a proper Blu-ray which I check with BDInfo before I start. In this case, the mpls refers to ..\GIRL_NEXT_DOOR_F2\BDMV\STREAM\00800.M2TS and it is currently located under D:\Temp\BluRay\
EDIT:
I have tested little more and found a workaround:
Instead of picking the mpls file, I chosed the 00800.m2ts file under BDMV\STREAM -> File Indexer -> now I get asked to chose a playlist (thats a new behavior), I chose 00800.mpls -> OK -> the Input file changes to BDMV\PLAYLIST\00800.mpls -> I chose DGIndexNV for Queue.
To start the task also works.
But I wonder if it is a wanted behavior? There are mpls which refer to multiple m2ts files. But maybe I want pick out only one m2ts file and not a whole playlist. How I do now? In my opinion, to chose a playlist makes sense when I chose a mpls file (which currently doesn't work for me).

Thanks, issue found. A fix however may not be available before the weekend.

Intended was that if you abort the playlist selection window that then the originally selected file will be used (e.g. the m2ts file). This does not work as intended currently and will be included in the fix.

I just updated (automatically) with latest 2789 development server built, and I'm not comfortable with latest changes (especially the disparition of the DSSource, and the more annoying new File Indexer tool, which uses mpls file instead of just the m2ts file, which doubles the indexing time). How could I go back to the latest version that has the old File Indexer? Is this the 2774 I found in some other sites, or is there another one between the two builds?
Thanks in advance!
EDIT: I found some files in the update_cache folder, I'll try to fix it manually!

It will be fixed/changed at the weekend. Dss can be enabled in the settings if really needed.

Thanks!
When I load an m2ts file from a blu-ray STREAM Folder, is there way to choose to index only the m2ts file, without looking for mpls file and creating a big MKV File ? Or is this the new way to do it?

BTW, the warning for FFMS2 that it strongly prefers MKV as input format is not so serious anymore since FFMS2 got rid of dependencies to Haali and uses now libavformat like L-SMASH Works.

Hello.
In One Click Encoder, after you select a file as input, if you are editing the name field of an audio track (before hitting "Queue"), and you misspell something and press backspace key to edit, that audio track is removed.
I've found this strange behaviour both in Windows 7 and Windows 10 machines.
Thank you.

x265 v2.6 is out now if you didn't already know.
Thanks, updated.
In One Click Encoder, after you select a file as input, if you are editing the name field of an audio track (before hitting "Queue"), and you misspell something and press backspace key to edit, that audio track is removed.
Thanks, changed.
When I load an m2ts file from a blu-ray STREAM Folder, is there way to choose to index only the m2ts file, without looking for mpls file and creating a big MKV File ? Or is this the new way to do it?
Update to 2791 and click on "cancel".
2791 [OneClick] added video track name. feature request #537
removed the possibility to delete tracks with DEL/BACKSPACE
2790 [File Indexer] fixed MPLS handling (regression of 2787)

Hi Zathor,
As always been, I greatly appreciate your effort in releasing the update to the wonderful MeGUI. If I may, I would like request these two things.
Will it possible to provide a pop-up in the "update" showing the release notes like you do on here and the release notes links of the pkgs being updated ?
Although there are guide online ( many of them seems out-dated though ), would it be possible for you or anyone who are experts in the encoding area on here prepare some encoding guides for various entities/options MeGUI provides?
Thanks a lot

You can always open the changelog yourself - there is the option in MeGUI: Help\Changelog

Sadly not by myself as I do not have the time to do that.

@Melan
I can reproduce your log with a capture from a spanish TV, using MeGUI 2791:
command line: eac3to "D:\Video\Captura\Telecinco HD\data0001.ts"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
M2TS, 1 video track, 2 audio tracks, 0:01:04, 50i
1: h264/AVC, 1080i50 (16:9)
2: MP2, Spanish, 2.0 channels, 192kbps, 48kHz, -2690ms
3: MP2, qaa, 2.0 channels, 192kbps, 48kHz, -2610ms
The unique WARNING (but many times repeated) is:
--[Warning] [03/12/2017 12:14:52] The language information "qaa/qaa" is unknown. The default MeGUI language has been selected instead.
You can ignore the WARNINGS (both audios are extracted ok), is only the "qaa" not recognized like a language code.
Sometimes the "qaa" track is the original language, sometimes is the same "Spanish" dup.
Updating MeGUI to 2798 the "qaa" WARNING's disapear.
BTW other spanish TV's put "v.o" in that second track (Original Version) without identify the language.
eac3to "D:\Video\Captura\laSexta3\data0001.ts"
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
M2TS, 1 video track, 2 audio tracks, 1 subtitle track, 0:03:05, 50i
1: MPEG2, 576i50 (16:9)
2: MP2, Spanish, 2.0 channels, 128kbps, 48kHz, -964ms
3: MP2, v.o, 1.0 channels, 96kbps, 48kHz, -1013ms
And I get multiple:
----[Warning] [03/12/2017 12:48:59] The language information "v.o/v.o" is unknown. The default MeGUI language has been selected instead.
We can't expect than MeGUI support anything than TV's want add to identify the languages used.

You are right the guides become updated quickly, and is a big effort try to maintain a MeGUI guide with so many options.
Lets Zathor with our job, ask here for bugs or feature request, or in MeGUI: General Questions and Troubleshooting Thread (https://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=105920), with specific data (source files and desired output) and some experienced user can help you.

qaa is a valid ISO language code, while v.o is none. I wil therefore not add that.

Of course, and is correct than MeGUI send a WARNING, the user must know than the language is not identified, even with "qaa" than MeGUI identify like "spanish" (my default language) when it is not always true.

I think that is the question. I uninstall and reinstall AviSynth 2.58, restart the machine, didn't help.
Next step will be a MeGUI reinstall from scratch. I'm picking up several filters in MeGUI/tools/avisynth_plugin directory, painfully collected over the years. Don't want to lose them.

After I have buy some new equipment for playback, I started to encode in x265 some days ago. I record animated series for my kids almost every day and encode them to archive.
I noticed that in x265 tuning the settings are missing, that are in x265 included (see attached pictures). For me the setting "Animation" are important.
So the question is, do you will insert these settings in the x265 tuning? I would be very grateful to you for that.

Thanks
LigH
18th December 2017, 08:37
Yadif is not the worst, are you not satisfied in a specific case? TDeint is not bad either, possibly a bit more elaborate. The top quality deinterlacer today is probably QTGMC, but it's not so easy to maintain all used plugins, and it's not provided via AVS Script Creator in MeGUI, you may have to write such an AviSynth script manually and open it as source.
But do not rely only on MediaInfo reporting an encoding mode flag. Some media is encoded in interlaced mode for different reasons, despite the video content being progressive. Or it may be a result of norm conversions with blending. In both cases, applying a deinterlacer would not be the optimal strategy (either superfluous, or not effective).

You can write whatever script you want in the AVS Script Creator in the Script tab. IMO all the rest of that autoencode one click nonsense could be removed.
