UPDATE HDC

>fixed chapter extraction
>fixed update manual to custom compression test
>fixed update Make Report to show audio decoder handling
>other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes

@Crono141
till resolution and framerate is 0 or null, hdc cannot handle your file.
since m2ts with vc-1 here is working , i suggest to REinstall haali/ffdshow tryout (latest version)
MPC use own decoder/splitter, so isn't a good test
what happen if you use Windows Media Player to open the avs or m2ts ?

about the report "e:\rippeddvd\mainmovie\school_of_rock_16x9\video_ts\vts_01_1.vob"
i see strange thing in queue.. no dgindex, no first pass , no audio extraction...
are you sure you havn't edited the queue ???

WMP won't open the avs, but plays the m2ts natively without a problem. I reinstalled FFDshow and haali and still have the same symptoms in HDC. I am running Windows 7, which may have something to do with why it plays in WMP and MPC and not in HDC.

Is there another switch besides directshowsource that could be used in the avs script?

I'm trying the School of Rock 2 pass over again. I didn't mess with the queue at all, but it may have been a fluke. A small bug I've noticed: if HDC completes an encode, and you want to do another, you have to close the program and restart it for the next to work properly. At least that's been my experience, but I've been getting alot of failed encodes so that may have something to do with it.

Is there another switch besides directshowsource that could be used in the avs script

try this build http://www.64k.it/andres/data/hdconverttox/HDConvertTOXviD-Crono141.zip
put the FFMS2.dll in \filters folder
in video encoder try checking "Force FFMS2"

otherwise i cannot help more

if HDC completes an encode, and you want to do another, you have to close the program and restart it for the next to work properly.
in latest builds i have fixed some issues related, feel free to retry in next full update

buzz, when using copy audio function with truehd files, the extention given to the eac3to job is .ac3, which is then used by tsmuxer to mux with final encoded video. This should be .thd+ac3 so the full hi def audio is copied and used with tsmuxer when creating the final m2ts, and not just the ac3 track. This is so I can copy truehd files, options for ac3 are available if i only require the ac3 core from a truehd file, can this be changed to reflect please Also making sure the correct data is also present in the meta file?

Hi buzzqw
I think HDC has an error in aac abr audio encoding with nero

"D:\HDConvertToX\applications\neroaacenc.exe" -if - -br 64 -ignorelength -of "D:\HDConvertToX\temp\hdencodertox-pid2.mp4"

-br 64 means 64 bits/s not 64 kb/s
this must be 64*1024 = 65536 or at least 64000

Thanks for this great software

update HDC

>added support for force decoding video with FFmpegSource (alpha)
>added in compression test note about CQ/CRF value and what preset used
>added support FFmpegSource as audio decoder. For AAC-SBR is a must, if you don't have installed Nero 7 (alpha)
>fixed Nero bitrate in abr/cbr mode
>fixed extension of true-hd ac3 audio when copying. thd+ac3 is used when muxing in mkv or m2ts, for avi and mp4 is used ac3
>other minor corrections and cosmetic fixes

Still no luck on my end. Have other folks used HDC with blu-ray discs (specifically, The Dark Knight) and been successful? If so, are you running the windows 7 beta as well?

I have been using HDC on BluRay m2ts quite a few times, for AVC and VC-1, including your title IIRC. No problems. I am on Vista.

I have remuxed loads of films from disc to single mt2s files, and then used hdc to convert no problems at all with anything. I have dark knight, ill try my end with vista and let you know.

The functions:

"Use eac3to the demuxer and decoder"
"Force the decoder BassAudio"
"Foce FFmpegSoruce the decoder"

Does not work when trying to convert mkv (h264/aac) to avi
(xvid/mp3). The error message is "unsuported audio format"

Eac3to need Nero Audio Decoder
Force Bass Audio need audio NOT SBR

Feature Request: (Comestic only):

it is possible to create an only window for the operations (equal to the MeGui, for example)? Prompt is ugly, for inexperienced users.

I've never used Graphedit, so i don't know what a functional graph looks like, but dragging and dropping the M2TS produced this output

I was also able to hit play in graphedit and the file played.

@Crono141

since it is a problem within your BETA OS and your filters, i can give only a very limited support.

try this last one

1) update HDC
2) in graphedit save the GRF
3) use the GRF as input for HDC

>added support for GRF (only video, HDC will ask for audio)

If the graph support works, should the file analyze properly?

Thanks for all your help with this anyway. If all else fails I can move this to a vista install for my BR disks.

EDIT: Doesn't look like it. All I got was errors opening the files with x264

there is enough space in e: ?

@Crono141

just open the movie.avs with virtualdub, what is the error ?
is somthing about output pin must provide rgb32, rgb24 .... make sure you deleted in graph the video render , you should just see the input box and the windows DMO decoder

like this

and.. i tested it, it works (on win xp)

Ok, I went a did a different route on this. I took the original M2ts and demuxed the audio track from it for the graph input. However, when that method didn't work, I used tsmuxergui to demux the vc1 track as well. I changed its extension to .wmv and used it for input in hdc. It changed it to mkv and now HDC sees all the attributes properly.

Perhaps there should be a hidden option or workaround like this for trouble files, to translate to mkv instead of trying to read the file directly.

Tried your method, no good.

Can I request another feature: under audio and subs selection, can we specify an external file for either (or both)?

1. if I want to resize to 716, that distorted colors are showed on preview in MPC. With 720, no problem. Tsted also the preview.avs in VDM to be sure that is not a problem from MPC. Make a test with a 1280x544 MKV.

2. running "C:\Program Files\HDConvertToX\applications\AVIMux_GUI.exe" -stdin mux1.amg working OK, but HDC didn't started it auto.
For me is not a problem AMG because always I mux with VDM.

Quick bug report.

When testing HDConvert, I select a DVD's IFO as a source. Everything appeared to analyze correctly. I attempted to Test The Interlace Pattern. DGIndex loads correctly, however once it is finished, HDConvert proceeds to crash.

Can you confirm?

Oh, and here is a speedy(er) mirror than the one you currently have up: http://www.austindwiltshire.com/mirror/HDConvertToX_1.2.240.1853.rar

Also, would you be interested in my creating a screencast guide to your program? That bug that I mentioned above would have to be fixed first, but I would love to create one for you. Get more users using your software.

Hi Merlin7777

first of all thanks for your mirror!

i wasn't able to reproduce the crash :(

so i need more info:
the deinterlace test create a file "deinterlacer_test.bat" and 2 avs script "autodeint_ff_movie.avs" and "createautodeintmovie.avs"
so if you launch from dos the deinterlace_test.bat , do you got any errors ?

also,on MeGui you do a very nice screencast guide! :)

Thank you! I appreciate it. I plan on doing A LOT more in the future. The website is in the process of updating, but i hope to crank out a bunch more in the coming weeks (maybe this weekend).

I will test the deinterlace_test.bat and report back.

Edit: Okay, I got some results. From what I can tell, you seem to be missing some quote action.
