@EEPROM
it has always done the same :)
avi aren't directly support
it will first muxed in mkv, then analyzed/encoded...
in next full package, those files not supported by mkvmerge will be processed by DSS

Thanks for your reply, and sorry if he had already spoken.
I take this opportunity to a question:
It's possible deinterlacer an .avi files without re-enconding ?

No application can do this.
BUT you can DEINTERLACE on fly while playing, just using ffdshow decoder/plugins

Source: m2ts file, avc encoded.
- Analyze file: ok
- Compression Test: HDC fires up DGAVCindex and then does nothing (stops, no activity)
workaround:
- Select "Force DirectShowSource"
- Compresion Test: HDC again fires up DGAVCindex and does nothing (same as above)
- I close the DGAVCindex window => Now the compression test starts and runs ok.
Why in avi mode the saved avi is "AVI v1.0"? Can you make some settings for avimux to output the same type of avi as virtualdubmod export?
Regarding SAP, all files muxed with VDM are compatible with SAP, and avimux aren't.
Convert frame rate for avi from 29.970 to 23.976 for example?
Later edit: i saw it at the "De-interlace Filters". Maybe this thing should be renamed.

IIRC, i reported that also in the early days of AutoMKV. From my experience with SAP, avimux is not so good for SAP as VDM. Also some players can't play avi files bigger than 2GB. But only some players. Is safe to stay under 2GB for final size. And not only because of size, also because of bitrate. Some users will play the avi using USB and if the USB is not 2.0 the video will sutter on SAP. The maximum bitrate (video+audio) for SAP with USB is about 2500kbps. I think the max peak value for XViD to be 2200 kbps. In these days many users have players with USB and is not always 2.0. Many of them have USB 1.1.
With USB 1.1 all users reported that movies encoded on 2CDs (with ac3) sutter.
OT: in AutoGK, the safe option is to check ESS. Some new models have problems with Mediatek check. I don't know what is the difference between these 2 settings but users reported that the ESS check is the safe.

with the possibility of copy video tracks, HDC allow very fast repack!
you can load a mkv, set video copy, audio copy, set container as m2ts and go!
the same for m2ts with some strange audio, you can copy the video and reencode the audio

great update buzz, with copy audio and video feature, i know it's possible to edit command line for tsmuxer, e.g, if i want to keep original hd audio using copy feature, just remove -core, could you place an option somewhere in copy audio feature which allows you to choose if you want to keep cor eor not, e.g. copy core only (DTS core if DTSHD-MA/MR and AC3 if TRUEHD)?
Just an idea. As i don't want to remux the core track from an audio file sometimes.

I see. That's probably my case. Although I have defined my own profiles it still takes the originally allocated resizing filter, depending on the speed/quality slider setting.

about resizing, the resizer change on quality value:
1,2 -> BilinearResize
2,3 -> BicubicResize(x,y,0,0.75)
4 -> GaussResize(p=30)
5 -> GaussResize(p=45)
6 -> GaussResize(p=60)
7 -> GaussResize(p=75)
