Don't worry
it's final size , it mean audio+subs+video
BHH
phXql
26th July 2009, 11:27
Then the final size function doesn't work with NeroAAC.
Parameters: Final Size 185 MB
Audio: Nero AAC Enc, VBR, 0.35 Quality, 2 Tracks
Video: X264 (Program suggested 1126 as bitrate)
Container: MKV
Subtitles: 2 Subtitles
One audio track has 13.2 MB, the other 15.4 MB. The H264-File has 174 MB.
Final size should be 185 MB, but it is 204 MB.
buzzqw
26th July 2009, 12:22
VBR audio, you say all
hdc can "guess" how big will be audio, but since you ask for a vbr encoding, the exact audio size is impossible to know before audio encoding
BHH
phXql
26th July 2009, 12:37
Uhm okay.
What about first encoding the audio, checking the filesize and then calculating the video bitrate? I think this is the way AutoMKV does the job. What do you think of implementing this as an option?
buzzqw
26th July 2009, 12:41
i know, but isn't possible with HDC
when you start and encoding with HDC all parameters MUST be set before start, and so bitrate.
just a question: final audio was 5.1 ?
(i just checked and in case of 5.1 the bitrate is guessed as 2.0)
for example with audio cbr encoding you will get a very good size approximation

ac3 should never be a problem in decoding/encoding, seriously
eac3to can have problem with ac3 source only when this track is somehow damaged
a more robust approach is using DirectShowSource (on audio section), or try ffmpeg
but.. eac3to never got problem with "normal" ac3 audio
BHH
The cmd window shows "error initializing SBR" and made a noise
I will try the others but this was the error in stdout - Log.txt

Could someone please explain exactly what "NMT Compatibility" (under Video -> "Hardware Compatibility") actually does? I have searched both this thread and the helpfile but can't find any info.
I have already used HDConvertToX to create about half a dozen x264-encoded files with this option UNchecked and they playback just fine on my Popcorn Hour ("NMT").
Thanks,
Fork.
Have the same Question..!
buzzqw
27th July 2009, 14:02
most depends on profile selected...
if you try the slug or infinite time, or new placebo... these profile aren't playable on nmt (sigma 8635)
checking NMT Compatibility will FORCE hdc to modify the preset used to be compliant with NMT/DVXA (less bframes, less ref frames...)

Hi together,
can HDC reorder the audiostreams?
With AutoMKV, you could select at least the first and the second stream, what's sufficient for 95% of the encodings.
all the best

Adub
27th July 2009, 18:20
Reorder? You mean like put the director's commentary as the default track, and then have the main audio as the second track? If yes, then no, it can't. However, if you are making mkv's, simply open the generated mkv in MKVToolnix and reorder it your self. Only takes about 10 seconds.

Hi I use AutoMKV all the time and I think it's great. Thought I would try this program but everytime I get an error message when pressing "analyze file" button. x264.exe "cannot find procedure entry point av_crc04C11DB7 in DLL file avutil-49.dll".
Anyone knows why?
One feature I always wanted in AutoMKV is to be able to remux DVD to MKV without encoding. Even remuxing TS files with subtitles into MKV would be great. Please consider this feature.
Same error here.. Windows XP Sp3.
buzzqw
28th July 2009, 07:20
make sure avutil-49.dll is in /applications folder (eventually replace it with one from latest eac3to package)

you can just add work to queue, edit the meta, start the queue

is there a way to easily find the "forced" subs using the "forced" flag or keyword? some other programs have a "forced only" tickbox that sorts it out for you.
or "fairuse wizard" had a great way of doing it by jumping thru the movie from 1 sub to the next so you could see if it was just normal conversation or something foriegn.
in the case of the above dvd mediainfo shows the forced sub stream as "Language, more info : Forced" but eac3to shows nothing?
cheers :)

Just wondering how long does your computer take to encode a 2 hr blu-ray file to mkv with 2 pass encoding and 9gb file size with ac3 5.1? I have a AMD quadcore and it take forever to finish, I think more than 12 hrs to finish.

I have an question about encoding multiple episodes dvds.
what does the option exactly do when checked?
so i am loading the ifo file and check the first episode accept and analyze. check settings and add to queue.
and so again and again,
is it possible, that i have only load the first episode, doing my settings and hdconverttox do the rest in automatic mode, with the same settings on the other episodes?

You have to re-encode adding borders. Tab Advanced Options => Free AVS string => AddBorders(a,b,c,d)
What kind of "original" is your .mkv?

Why is eac3to used for ac3 output? I wan't to encode from a DVD as source and I want to keep the original ac3 track wihtout any changes. But eac3to is removing the dialog normalization and I don't know what it does else. Should't the ac3 track be demuxed by dgindex? Why don't use this track like automkv did?

Did i need on the Encoding Options, Resizing/Resolution, to set manually to 1920 x 1080 also?
I have entered in Free AVS String
AddBorders(0,132,0,132)
Did it will work?
Can you help me with another one problem. When i click PREVIEW, media player classic give an error (see picture down bellow)

You need a codec that can decode proper yv12. In the FFDShow Video config, scroll down to the bottom and enable RAW decoding for "ALL" or just "YV12". It's up to you.

Hi Buzzqw,
Thanks for pointing to the method to modify the Xvid profile string that I asked about in the AutoMKV thread. I was able to generate an equivalent encode for my Cowon D2 device. I had to do it in a roundabout way though. If I used DGIndex to create a project of the entire DVD PGC, things worked just fine. If I pointed HDC to the .IFO file, the EAC3to.exe program was unable to generate a proper .AC3 for conversion. Here is the stdout - Log from that attempt.
[a03] The Nero decoder doesn't seem to work, will use libav instead. *** Note. I have Nero 9 installed so this is expected.

[a03] Audio overlaps for 3722ms at playtime 0:02:20. <WARNING>
The final encode ended up with a chunk of audio skipped right at the 2:20 mark. It looks like AUTOMKV used the DGIndex output instead of using eac3to.exe. Is that right? From some web searches this appears to be a limitation of eac3to.exe. I haven't tried another set of IFO/VOBs yet to see if it was specific to one movie or not. I don't know if there is anything you can do about this problem or not.
My second test was to generate an avi for my Pioneer DVD player. It has issues with buffer overflows or something. This causes stuttering video. To fix this I use an older XVID release with VAQ enabled in it. I don't think the newer XVID releases support VAQ yet.
I then have to set -altpass2 in the 2nd pass call to xvid_encraw. This makes the encoder honor the VBV settings. But in HDC I can only specify one string in the profile.txt file. The encoder doesn't like -altpass2 when it's included in the first pass call, resulting in no .AVI file and a crash in avimux. If I rerun the .bat file that HDC generates, but I remove -altpass2 on pass1, things seem to work just fine (the 2nd pass is underway right now). This is probably a pretty special case. Do you have any suggestions to get around this other than rerunning the .bat file after it crashes? I can modify the .bat file while it's still encoding the audio, but I'd rather HDC not have this manual intervention involved.
Thanks for the great program(s).

HI,
-- FIRST QUESTION--
Im having an trouble with a couple of program.
- Ripbot264
- Nero Vision express AVCHD
The original MKV file info for my trouble
(mkv video 1h52, audio time is 1h46)
the original mkv is sync, when converted, audio is unsync.
So i would like to know if your software will set automaticly the delai or i need to set an manual command for syncronized both?
-EDIT-
--SECOND QUESTION--
I would like to know if MKV 1280x536px, if i can addborder and put x264option (copy video) will work and save time that to be obligated to reconvert 2pass just for adding borders to be compatible AVCHD and BLU-RAY COMPLIANT. ?
-- END --
Thank You!
Thanks, sorry my english

Hi Buzzqw,
I might have found a bug. I was trying to test out the MT avisynth so instead of encoding the audio, I choose the Copy option. The audio creation fails. It looks like a badly formed input to eac3to.exe. It looks like the original filename is appended as the extension instead of just .ac3.
Source file.

The destination file "C:\Programs\AV\HDConvertToX_2.0.424.3356\job9\hdencodertox-pid1.\_working\Rips\MainMovie\movie1\VIDEO_TS

Writing the destination file failed.
Aborted at file position 1310720.
I am running v2.0.445.3436. I'm trying to create an AVI file starting with a .d2v file. When I loaded the .d2v I gave it the .ac3 file indicated above.
And using the MT mode doesn't appear to have any affect on the encoding speed. The SetMtMode is in the avs script and it crashes if the old avisynth.dll is used instead. So it looks like it's using the right things. It's just not getting any benefit.
