Hello,
I have been using this program for a couple of months and love it, but with a recent upgrade to a new AMD Phenom II X4 3.4ghz Quad Core, hdconverttox is giving me some issues.
I am getting this error when trying to encode Avatar to H264 MKV: "The h264 muxer doesn't support this stream type yet. Please send a 20mb sample to dear@madshi.net Aborted at file position 25109200896."
I am running Windows 7 and followed the link on the first post to set up hdconverttox properly, but I am thinking that maybe the Haali included with the latest Klite Codec pack is outdated? If this is the case, can someone tell me how to update it so it still works in Windows 7?
Avatar worked fine on my old 4ghz P4, but it took 5 days to finish, and I didn't include the forced subs.
Thanks for any help!

Nevermind,
I think I fixed it by allowing the K lite codek pack to do an update during a reinstall, but now I have another minor issue:
In XP, x264 used to give a percentage done and an estimated time remaining, along with which pass it was on during encoding, with Windows 7 it doesn't do that anymore, at least on my machine. Not a big deal, but is this normal?

Maybe someone else can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not sure this is about Win XP/Win 7.
What I do know is that the "standard" 32bit x264-encoder gives more info than the 64bit version of x264.
Have you perhaps changed into using that one instead?

Testing with the beta you posted I have an encode where it is unable to parse the wav file. I posted the make rport below.

Thanks for making this great program! Was looking for an easy way to shrink a 700mb to 350mb file for travel, and megui is a pain. I got a decent file that even my wife (she has better perception than I for detail) couldn't tell the difference!
Keep up the good work!

@flebber
there is something wrong on your way of selecting input
i can guess your first opened a file, then selected the ifo and you have click yes to "assume same properties"
@startreksuite
thanks startreksuite and Welcome to the Forum!
thanks for your kind words!
stay tuned.. a new version of HDC is coming out these days

Using latest beta version.
My source is a captured *.avi with PCM audio.
Audio decoding/conversion produces hdencodertox-pid1.ac3, which is fine.
The *.meta file however refers to hdencodertox-pidF.ac3, and muxing fails, unless I change F to 1.

I cut ts.h264 files (DVB-S source) using h.264ts cutter, the problem is most time the new video has a glitch (a noise appear quickly just a once).
The problem happen only if I use ffdshow decoder, but using decoder like CoreAvc produce no problems.
Anyway, if I encode the new video with HDC the noise appear whatever decoder I use.

you must set coreavc as preferred decoder Windows

try opening mkv with windows media player and check if coreavc is on use

I have a problem where the AVIMux-Gui Script fails to 'start'
If i remove the 'START <Filename>' from the script, load the script manually and manually click 'start' it works perfect. Seems like the line in the script that is meant to start the process just doesn't seem to want to start.
It sits on the screen below:

Is there anyway I can get HDConverToX to work with Raw avi .
A friend of mine asked me to compress 45 seconds of edited output from Adobe Premiere Pro ... originally shot on his 1440x1080 mpeg2 HD camcorder .
HDC muxes the clip into MKV and then stalls .
I can't even play the file on my system ... not with MPC Home Cinema , VLC nor Windows Media Player .
I'm guessing that FFdshow can't handle the file or isn't setup correctly ... eventhough it plays fine on his system .
I tried encoding on his system but HDC stalls (K-Lite installed) .

Hi,
first I'd like to say :thanks: for this fine piece of work!
However, when trying to convert a .m2ts to xvid(AVI, fullHD, no crop/resize),
AVI output for files >4GB seems to be incompatible with my SAP.
I am using a Panasonic TVset and would like to access
the converted files via DLNA.
However, when I use "transcode/avimerge (http://www.transcoding.org/transcode?Transcode_Wiki)" (runs on linux)
to mux the eac3 and xvid files, my TV likes it without problems.
Since I am a windows noop, I'd like to know if some of the experts could
recommend an alternative to avisynth to perform the last step under win as well.
TIA!

for avi > 2gb HDC will activate ODML muxing, maybe your player is unable to handle it..
you can try this: add the job to queue, then goes to \applications folder and edit the mux1.amg and set the "OPENDML" to 0
then hit start queued job

thx for the fast response!
...did not work.
mux1.amg seems already set with "OPENDML = 0".
When the muxer starts, a GUI prompt pops up, saying that avi-sizes >2GB
would require to activate OPENDML....activate <yes>/<no> ?...yes would mux the avi with OPENDML, which my SAP renderer does not support...<no> would simply quit the mux process.
BTW: muxer would not start before removal of the START command in mux1.amg.. muxer would sit there forever otherwise...this time on win7-64...HDC works ok...had to start in admin mode in order of getting the video file analyzed.

I am a new user of hdconverttox.
I have an issue with the recoding of a movie with the dutch language. In this situation the recoding proces stops early.
I noticed the batch file created uses the language "ned", when I changed that to "nld" it works.
Example:

HDC beta 2 (eac3to.exe) always gives me "not supported" error when working with DTS-HiRes Audio:
1: h264/AVC, 1920x1080 23.975p
2: DTS Master Audio, German, 7.1 channels, 24 bits, 48kHz, dialnorm: -4dB
(core: DTS, 5.1 channels, 24 bits, 1509kbps, 48kHz, dialnorm: -4dB)
3: DTS Hi-Res, English, 7.1 channels, 24 bits, 2046kbps, 48kHz, dialnorm: -4dB
(core: DTS, 5.1 channels, 24 bits, 1509kbps, 48kHz, dialnorm: -4dB)
This audio conversion is not supported.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
pid3 log tells me it's using the following command for eac3to:
L:\temp\job1\hdencodertox-pid3.dts hi-res
------------------------------------------------------
In this example I tried to copy audio with checkbox "keep only core" , the DTS-Master went fine (but it has only 6chanels after conversion, is this a problem?), the DTS-HiRes gives the error, the same error happens when trying to convert to AC3.
---------------------------------------------------------
Also the programs gui seems to be gone little bit unstable, when starting my queue and leaving hdc open in the background, after some while (hours) the programm has closed (just the gui, the encoding is working fine in cmd), no open task anymore and nothing in the win application/system logs.
(that's why I can't provide a make report this time, but hope you can solve it anyway)

Has anyone had any issues with Low Audio when converting from MKV to WMV?
For a long time everything had been fine (old computer), now on a new system...I've noticed that if i Normalize audio i'll get no sound, and if i don't, the sound is extremely low compared to the source MKV.
Eac3to is set to handle audio, and even the ac3 file that gets extracted sounds perfect...but once it all comes together into the WMV...it's very very low.
Any suggestions?
btw..I'm trying out the 3.0 beta...and even tho the option to Log x264 is checked...doesn't seem to be happening unless i just can't find the file.
Thanks

Attached is the requested make report of the DTS File which I can't convert with copy audio and keep only core.
See my error-message before in the last post.
Also the program really closes itself without interaction after a period of time (I checked it again), not a big problem but somehow strange... (running it on coreI7 Win7 64bit)

Is it somehow possible to set "Force direct show source 2" as default when loading the program? It's the only setting which I use and is not saved in the profile.

I got the error also when just using the extracted DTS File so I thought it would be easier for you not to have the unnecessary movie part in the make report, but anyway I will post it when I'm back at home.
In the Gui I selected EAC3to so I'm wondering why it's trying to use nicaudio? (Maybe because I only used the DTS as input this time?)
