nero aac again:
i was looking at my original ac3 file 448kbps 5.1 (430mb) and the "nero aac+original+0,35" conversion was at 350kbps (~350 mb).
well, there must be something wrong, the file cannot be so large.
what do you think?

Hi, thanks for the answer regarding the AQ feature... I suppose I won't use it unless I really need to, because it really boosts the size, and just for a couple of shots where you can actually tell the difference. And still, if anyone else has a comment on that, post it please. :) Thanks.
Now, I have anther question. I don't mean to be disrespectful, I really appreciate AutoMKV and everything it offers us, but I was wondering if there was a way to disable or change the automated title the AutoMKV Matroska file compiler puts on all .mkv files, and that is "Done with AutoMKV 0.89...". Thanks :)
And my final question - which AAC codec is better - Nero AAC or Codec Tech. AAC ?
Thanks. ;]

You can change the title under the mux options under the advanced options tab. However, this seems broken when you use virtualdub to mux into an avi file.
I don't know which is better since generally nothing really is "best" is it...
Decide for yourself (which might be hard, in that case just use nero)
AQ is so worth it. Trust me. It really helps not make black areas block up, especially with the newer x264 builds (which automkv has).

It's quality mode, that might be why. It doesn't give itself a set "bitrate" persay, only a quality, and since there's 6 channels, 350kbps sounds right. For 5.1 channel I really don't like to go below ~200kbps, and even that is slightly low for me.

@bisdelf
look here http://automkv.wiki-site.com/index.php/Help:Contents#Step_5_-_Set_Audio_Settings
at 0.35 corrispond near 99kbps per channel, i will go down to 0.20 / 0.25
@Encoder888
.mkv files, and that is "Done with AutoMKV 0.89..."
open the advanced settings, at right, in Muxing Options, there is "Title", write here what you want
@delacroxp
welcome back!
EDIT: @wizboy11, thanks... fixed!

Hi buzz!
The preview function does not work for me anymore. Maybe something is wrong with my setup but directshowsource says the file is not supported and the corresponding line in preview.avs is this:
movie = directshowsource("D:\TEST\VTS_01_0.IFO",audio=false)
It tries to load the .IFO? Is that correct?

Hi All
Thanks for your help on the previous problems i was having. the files are now encoding.
My next problem is more a video quality issue i'm having. I have attached a frame captured using nero showtime which is my player of choice for x264 encoded files. as you can see the image has kind of lines throughout the whole image and it is really noticable when there is a lot of movement. is there anything i can do to fix these lines using a filter of some sort
thanks once again

I was asking berrinam if the source code for BAutoDeint which I had found is outdated. He agreed and comitted some changes for a successful build with the latest D-compiler. :thanks: to berrinam!
After he placed the committed source-code somewhere, I get the link and will try to build it again.
I'll let you know if it was successful. :)

megui use the same routines ... but with an update code
... or i will "translate" from c# to purebasic or ... someone more skilled (easy to be more skilled then me) could port megui deinterlace detection code to standard console application

No playing with dll's on my side but VD does complain of "Avisynth open failure: MPEG2Source:Invalid D2V file, it's empty!"

it's a stupid (:stupid:) bug
to fix you need the next update or http://www.64k.it/andres/data/a/AutoMKV089a.exe
AND put dvddecrypter.exe AND PgcDemux.exe (http://www.64k.it/andres/data/a/PgcDemux.exe) \exe\vsrip folder
(as i said i change the way of selecting the pgc)
sorry for any trouble

please use www.imageshack.us for uploading you image, or we must wait for a Mod to approval the attachment
image has kind of lines throughout the whole image and it is really noticable when there is a lot of movement
even if i can't see the image i suppose it's interlacing.. so .. what's your source (avi/dvd/mpeg/ts...) ? and what deinterlacer have you select or automkv as used, if any ?
look at log, and post it

No, problem! Cheers!
I have successfully built BAutoDeint with berrinams recent changes using the latest D-Compiler.
Do you want to have the exe-file? I'd zip it and upload it somewhere if you like to have it.
Now I will check if it's still crashing. :)

Ok, I send you the exe and source code.
I dont think the command line options have changed. berrinam just made changes to the source code that it could compile with the latest d-compiler (v. 2.003).
I ran a few tests here myself and there were no more crashes. I tested avi-sources and also a deinterlaced mpeg2-source. Let me know about your results, please. I'm kinda curious.
BAutodein.exe and source code will follow shortly via email.
Just to let you know: berrinam also added the source code to the megui subversion repository. If you want the link, just let me know.

Done... but no change !!!
Will re-install the entire package...
It's a bit odd that all was working fine and then it wont even rip a movie properly, let alone encode the movie...

Another question I have is regarding delaycut. When I tried to convert a MPEG2-file to XviD-avi delaycut started to run. At its start I had about 20 gigs on my hard disk left and while it rans the 20 gigs were gone soon.
The mpa-source file was only about 8 MB large. Is delaycut really so hungry that it consumes all space left on my hard drive?
Is there another way to cut an audio delay?

thanks , the mail is arrived!
i will do some test and will report!
about delaycut.. is a know problem.. sometimes, and only when audio is mpeg layer 2 (mpa) ... delaycut goes crazy
if you have a small sample that is able to replicate the problem i will ask to jsoto to fix it
i suggest in this occasion to use in the advanced settings the disable delay cut option
@delacroixp
your ifo is on dvd or on hd ?
with new source on dvd on hd do this:
start automkv
if needed in advanced options check process this ifo
in input select your ifo
on pgc selection select your episodes
set all other options as you want
click start
please report any problem with new pgc options since next week i will publish the new full update
thanks!

I tried X264 encoding several different ways but I was unable to make an encoding that QuickTime on a Mac would work with. Am I missing something simple or is it not possible. What profile should I be using?
buzzqw
27th August 2007, 21:57
most compatiblem should be the ipod profile..
in next update will be present the apple TV and iphone profiles
as far as i know on quicktime windows the files are working (ipod profile)

my bad :o sorry
as i said previusly rename "C:\Users\Alpha\Desktop\AutoMKV v0.89\" to "C:\Users\Alpha\Desktop\AutoMKVv0.89\"
and "C:\Users\Alpha\Desktop\New Folder\temp\" to "C:\Users\Alpha\Desktop\New_Folder\temp\"
WITH NO SPACE IN NAME. seems that mp4box is somehow picky when muxing fles with with space
for muxing simply go to "C:\Users\Alpha\Desktop\New_Folder\temp and launch muxing.bat
BHH
Okie I finally get a working file with audio. BUT how do I get a full video?
Coz for my file is being spilt into many different parts.:confused:

:thanks: for this great program BHH.
But how do I get better quality?
Which settings should I tweak?

I reinstalled Vista and still got the cscript APPCRASH error so I am now using AutoMKV perfectly in XP. :)
Under Disk settings, and we have 1/2 DVD setting? For 1/2 DVD settings, 2200 setting is good? Does the program calculate by 1024 or 1000? What would be the best size setting for 1/2 DVD? Thanks!

23:49:29 Command Line 2' Pass X264: C:\Users\Alpha\Desktop\AutoMKVv0.89\exe\encoder\x264.exe --pass 2 --bitrate 867
so the first pass is crf and the second pass is 2 pass bitrate based ???? and with 21.25 of crf ??
i must admit that i am :confused:
But how do I get better quality?
try enabling autocrop... try AutoCrop Only
you have encoded at full size.., take away the black bars
ForceFilm Detected: 100.000000% FILM found
in deinterlace select FILM, so you will be sure to get proper deinterlace (no need to set Field Order)
@klicker4546
i have , again, some problem parsing all stdout.. but it's my problem :mad: (well.. not my.. but of my programming language...)
@SCSI
Does the program calculate by 1024 or 1000
work on 1024 base

thanks! :)

Hi,
I have DVD which I want to play on Ipod. I chose container MP4, Profile:IPOD.xml, codec X264. It ends up as *.mp4 which when I try to copy to Ipod via iTunes ends up with error "this file can not be played on Ipod". What am I doing wrong?

@DIEGO7-5
like the idea of having a "delogo" filter very much since i was always missing it in AutoMKV for my TV-Captures
i am not en expert of delogo... i will search for more info!
@artisticcheese
select Codinc Tec. AAC

Sounds great! Or you can just make AutoMKV read VirtualDub frameserver files so i can use delogo in virtualDub and then frameserve everything to AutoMKV to do the final job.

your ifo is on dvd or on hd ?
with new source on dvd on hd do this:
start automkv
if needed in advanced options check process this ifo
in input select your ifo
on pgc selection select your episodes
set all other options as you want
click start
Done !!!
Wierd... re-installed AutoMKV 0.89 and 0.89a
I tried both but 0.89a wont even process the PGC (yesterday it automatically kicked-in since you've removed the option)
I work from ISO's on the HDD so I manually ripped the 2nd episode but in all cases DGIndex died before it got started...

When encoding to a X264 to a .mp4 I get a error saying that "BAutoDeInt.exe encountered an error". Nothing looks strange in the log file. What should I be looking for to debug this problem? It appears this error occurs when BAutoDeInt.exe starts.

bdeint "should" be update in next version
anyway most probably your x264 is already progressive, select progressive or none in deinterlace settings
@nullstuff
i think i will do a special folder named Virtualdubplugin and any filter present in this folder will be loaded with LoadVirtualDubPlugin, i already made a similar folder for loadCplugin..
so with loading of virtualdub plugin and last avs line will be possbile to insert the delogo script as in post you linked

Okay, I will take care of a small sample. I gonna forward it to you via email.
PureBasic, I've never heard about that. Think I gonna have a look.
I started a little earlier than you with an Apple II in 1982.
I contacted berrinam regarding the problem with BAutoDeint. Further notice will follow as soon as I've heard anything from berrinam.

EDIT: I've got a reply from berrinam. He updated the MeGui SVN with changes to BAutoDeint again. I built it and it looks fine so far. The detection is now working here for me. You get two exe versions then: one is a debug version, which is showing some debugging info in the console, the second is the release version. Check your email soon.

Another work-around-method was for me to run ProjectX over the MPG2-file to check for errors and demux it. I merged the file again and there hasn't been an audio delay.
I think it might be not necessary to send you a sample. Since it is a problem in general with MPA-Audio format. I tried it with several MPEG-2 sources and there's always been an audio delay. So could you just contact jsoto to look into his MPA-Audio routines in his sources?
Don't you have any problems with delaycut? I had to cut out a little sample first if it's really needed. And you had to wait because it is kinda late now and I want to go to bed.
Just let me know then.

Hi,
I'm encoding to Ipod and choose Ipod profile, now if original video is 16:9 or any other aspect ration, I want end result to occupy the whole screen on ipod (320x240). I already specified resizer to set width to 320 but this just leaves black lines on top and bottom of the vide which originally was 16:9, what I want to make video larger to occupy full 320x240 even if it means cropping the video.
Which setting and where can I use for that.

After successfully converting to WMVs, I encountered a problem where the finished WMV have jerky or jittery video as if the frames are encoded twice. Two conversions of different movies have caused. The first 10 minutes is fine on one and the first minute is fine on the other. Is the cause of the problem related to AutoMKV not properly detecting frame types? Same movies done with encode360 comes out OK. I'm using WVC1 2 pass fast profile.
