Hi albain,
For me so i don't know if it's the same issue :) DTS-HR 7 channel, my avr detect it in DTS-MA 5 channel.
I'm go to test last version of ffdshow :)
Thanks,
Seb.

Scratch that about Haali. It's playing vid fine when using ffdshow dxva and software decoding.
As for loss of audio when seeking with TrueHD, its still happening with Haali as well as mpc matroska.
Cheers
Yep, have same issue wrt TrueHD using MPC Matroska.

I thought we had DTS-HR working?? Is that with an ATI or Xonar that you're having problems? My HTPC is dead right now so I can't test it, but, I've got a replacement PSU and case coming later in the week so hopefully that gets me back up and running soon. As soon as I get my machine going again I'll test that out for you.

i suppose DTS-HD decoding in software isn't supported yet? I have a few TrueHD videos playing over analog just fine, but DTS-HD films either audio speeds up and it's just unwatchable or i have to change to libdts to properly watch, this is normal? Thanks

Can you tell me what are the remaining problems ?
MKV with Haali+TrueHD : is it seeking problem or it won't play at all ?
I tested the latest build (3292) with MPC Matroska splitter on TrueHD and had no issues. Seeking was instantaneous and I had no drop-outs. This is the best I've seen it on my intel clarkdale system with a Pioneer Elite receiver.
Unfortunately, now DTS HD MA is broken, which I have to figure out. I don't think it's the latest build because I installed builds going back (3274, 3254, 3227) and it was still broken (silence, receiver shows "stereo").
I think the DTS issue is on my system, I'm going to try other Intel drivers.
For anyone else with an Intel clarkdale, which version of the intel drivers are you using and which FFDSHOW rev?
Thanks

Where are you getting your ffdshow builds from? All of the recent builds from xvidvideo.ru have broken DTS(-MA) for me, where the recent builds on sourceforge work fine.

I used FFDShow 3291 from soureforge combined with MPC HC 1577, not problems with DTS(MA) or TrueHD from both mkv and m2ts. Tested on my clarkdale (Intel 2086 driver).
I haven't tested on my clarkdale yet but with my HTPCs using the 5670 the one thing that has not been stable for me is bitstreaming HD Audio through WMP12/WMC. Movies either won't play at all unless I uncheck all the passthrough audio formats in FFDShow Audio or I get playback with audio dropouts.

Ok. I'll test in a couple days. New PSU arrives tomorrow. New case on Thursday, so, once I get my machine back up and running I'll take a look. I'm pretty sure I still have your HR sample. We should see what TMT3 does with it, too.

I've been getting them from here:

I thought that was where Albain was posting them... didn't realize they were also on Sourceforge. I've been downloading the x86 (non ICL11) version.
You are downloading from here?

Both of them but i must say you will need ffdshow or LPCM decoder (if you are using MPC Gabest MPEG Source) between the source filter and Reclock while you are trying to get bitperfect PCM streaming inside m2ts container.
With Haali you can directly connect it to ReClock btw.
You will not need any decoder between source filter (matroska or haali) and Reclock if the same file inside an mkv container.
I'll edit my thread soon i hope.

The Antec Nine Hundred Two with an Antec 750 EA PSU. :D PSU is coming tomorrow, case is coming day after. I may stick the PSU into my old case to make sure it's still working.

There are no differences.
The project maintainers post the builds on sourceforge
But there are other builders and xvidvideo.ru is a good source

There shouldn't be a difference but there is. DTS has been broken in all of the recent xvidvideo.ru builds I've tested and it works in the builds on sourceforge.

The difference is in the compilers that are used by the builders. Plain MSVC vs. ICL10 vs. ICL11, and different versions of MinGW GCC.

I figured out the problem. It wasn't the FFDSHOW build. In MPC-HC, I had changed the audio renderer to "Intel: <<my receiver name>>" which is my default direct sound renderer but for some reason, this stopped DTS HD from working. TrueHD still worked fine.
I had to change the audio renderer to "System Default" and it now works fine.
Again, strange since my default renderer in windows is my Intel: Pioneer device.

Hi all,
Thank you for everything!
I'm from Russia and I like watching movies in English with subtitles.
So, if I only switch audio track to the DTS-HD/TrueHD there is no delays/seeking problems. But If I turn on subtitles the seeking problem appears, but only on DTS-HD. TrueHD is OK.
I'm using default MPC subtitles.
Thank you.

Have you tried with FFDShow subtitles filter ?
It might be due to the lack of power of your CPU.

Hello,
I have q9550@3.53ghz
When I turn on subtitles and DTS-HD there is only 5% load on my CPU.
I'm sorry I didn't understand about FFDShow Filter. I tryed to find it but I could'nt.
I know only there is subtitles option in ffdshow video decoder, but DTS-HD and TrueHD don't work with ffdshow video decoder.
Can you tell where I can find the FFDShow subtitles filter?
Thank you.

Hey there,
I was wondering how you guys deal with video files that have multiple audio streams, one of them being DTS-HD, the other a normal AC3 (commentary) track. I'm using the latest MPC-HC and ffdshow builds (64-bit) and my receiver receives the DTS-HD bitstream just fine, but I can't switch to the commentary track. This is with MPC's internal audio switcher disabled. If I enable it, it's the other way around: the commentary track is to be heard, but I have no way of switching to the DTS-HD track.

Enabling or disabling audio switcher doesn't matter.
Just select the audio you want from here:

What about the A key? Pressing the A key is supposed to change audio stream. I am creating multiple-audio mkvs but I never had the chance to test secondary audio streams because the first stream is FLAC and the second is the movie's original DTS-HD or TRUE-HD and my AV receiver is not capable of decoding HD formats. So, I am very interested to know if the A key performs the task.

@cheeta111: The A key doesn't work (I tested with the internal audio switcher on and off).
@rica: Any hints on how I can cut a couple of seconds out of the mkv? Last time I've done something like this was when XviD came out :)

mkvmerge will do it. Just use the file splitting option on the second tab.

hi
From the first message :
the best is to use the the arcsoft renderer (on a dos window in administrator mode : regsvr32 (total media path)\codecs\asrenderer.dll)
i don't have this dll, ( i'm using tmt3 version provided with the xonar slim version )
is this ASAudioRenderer.dll instead ?
( which seems to be a valid activex as regsvr32 works when you run it as administrator under 7)
thanks

Hi,
I'm willing to fix one of the last issues about HD audio : True HD seeking
For that I'll a contribution of one of you. Maybe Sebastii has he knows the dumper on his finger-tips :)
The test that I need :
1/ File with TrueHD track. Any player will suit
2/ Use FFDShow audio in bitstream mode
3/ Start the dumper and hook it to the player
4/ Play the file and seek until you loose the audio => note the time where it looses the audio
Thank you
And yes, if I am asking that is because I still don't have my receiver back from repair to do the test on my own

Anyway, good news about you looking into the seeking issue. Hopefully Seb will be able to get you the info you need to fix it.

No, MPC MPEG Source didn't match with ffdshow and selected MS DTV-DVD audio decoder which means no need to get debug logs.

I suspect that it does not work when you use bitstreaming via ffdshow right?
For me it works when I use Haali Media Splitter, AC3Filter (as I said no HD capable AVR), but I have to press the A key once, or else video and audio plays at higher than normal speed. With ffdshow audio decoder I can change audio streams using the A key but I hear only static (no HD capable AVR).
I hope this helps somehow.
KyleK are you using MPC's MPEG Splitter?
Edit: With ffdshow audio decoder sending LPCM to AC3Filter I can hear both streams pressing the A key to switch between them. And yes, when I use MPC's MPEG Splitter I cannot change audio streams using the A key when the MPC's Audio switcher is off but I can change them using the A key when the audio switcher is ticked. When the MPC's Audio switcher is used you can have the same effect using right mouse button>filters>audio switcher and there you can select the audio streams.
KyleK
13th March 2010, 00:06
Yes, I would guess that I'm using the MPC's MPEG Splitter, as I haven't installed anything else.
I used to use Haali for a long while but last time I tested it didn't work with HD audio bitstreams. Are there more recent builds of Haali than the one at http://haali.su/mkv/ ?

I can not see any audio switcher under filters even it was selected on MPC with this sample.
Have you given it a go with KyleK's sample?
BTW sample.mkv (or any mkv) doesn't use MPC's MPEG splitter AFAIK. (Sorry, i know it's out of discussion in this thread.)
