64 bits build on sourceforge now (tested and working) : rev 3248

DTS-HD MA 7.1 (Hellboy: Golden Army) is correctly configured as 7.1 in my xonar/denon 988 setup. In fact, I have had no issues with several previously problematic titles, seeking, chapter change, etc. Very happy camper. BTW Helloby has a very "energetic" sound track, very nice! If requested, I'll upload a sample.
Now my dreams can move on to LPCM bistreaming. :)
Hi,
It would be great :) that i can test this sample.
But for my issue is DTS-HR not reconize with ffdshow, it's ok with PDVD9 on ATI.
Maybe it's something wrong (EDID ?) but like it's works with PDVD it's strange and maybe it's like with AVR Pioneer, because on my AVR before Damien find the bug for DTS-MA and Pioneer, I can play DTS-MA without issue and the issue was here on Pioneer so maybe strange bug on my AVR and FFDshow lol.
Thx,
Seb.

Great news :) Big thx :)
I've re wrote a ticket so i wait an answer.
But yes you're right all people must post in AMD to resolve issue of dropout in software mode and Powerplay issue.
Thx :)
I did submit a very detailed support ticket regarding PowerPlay induced dropouts and also EDID issues a while ago and 5 days later on 21 Jan I received a notification that
Your service request SR# 8200273275 has been escalated to one of our
experts who can better address your questions. We appreciate your
patience, and thank you for your interest in AMD.
Just checked and this was regarding the dropouts.
Let's hope something will eventually happen!

No need to dream - just use ReClock in WASAPI/Kmixer mode :) Although I have to admit it would be great having it all in ffdshow :)

At my first try, they didn't find and reproduce bug !!!!!!
I hope that it will try to reproduce it and solve it :)

Hi,
You have to go on : HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GNU\ffdshow
And add or set regkey DWORD allowDPRINTF and set value 1.
Good luck :)
Seb.
I added the key, where should the log get written?
FWIW the issue only manifests with Haali. If I use the MPC-HC MKV splitter everything works great (including some drop-outs in TrueHD experienced in 3200 being fixed).
Thanks

Hi,
You have to launch debugview and the log comes into it :)
And in few past post Albain says :
@hoborg : goto HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\GNU\ffdshow and create a DWORD value
Call it "allowDPRINTF" and set it to 1
Then you should be able to get debugview logs

I've had ReClock installed before, but it's been awhile. So replace the ffdshow filter with Reclock configured to use WASAPI? Not show how to config MPC-HC to do that on the fly or via menuing. I support manipulating the external filter priority/merit could do it. Seems very kludgie.
Currently I am forced to switch the Win playback device to "speakers" from s/pdif (my default) for LPCM based titles.
I am for max quality video/audio, but ease-of-use is important too.
Beyond that, loaded up my DVE calibration disk yesterday and testing some the "old" audio formats: DD EX 6.1, DTS-ES, etc. They all bitstreamed fine with the current ffdshow beta. Way to go Albain!
Lastly, working on a Hellboy DTS-HD MA 7.1 sample. I am creating a 7 min clip - it has a very nice intro.

Can you please let me know how/what setting you are using in reclock to get this? I have been trying to do the same in 7MC (with MPC-HC standalone filters and ffdshow, reclock) without success (cannot load reclock selectively only for LPCM). Hopefully your solution might help.

The 64 bits build I submitted on sourceforge is not compiled correctly
This may be the causeNope I tested the 32 Bit Version?
I wonder why no else says that dts still works for him without HD bitstream capable hardware.

I have been struggling for awhile now trying to figure out how to get Windows 7 MC to playback various m2ts and mkv files natively (without using MPC-HC or any other player) to bitstream DTS-MA, TrueHD and other codecs to my Denon 4308ci AVR. Following the works of many in the various AV forums, I see that some people have had some success with the Xonar getting playback to bitstream; however, I don’t know if anyone has it working without the utilization of MPC-HC.
My setup is as follows:
Ahanix MCE-601 case
Gigabyte GA-P965-DQ6 v3.3 Motherboard (F13a BIOS)
Intel Core 2 Duo E6400
Gigabyte Nvidia 8600GTS Silent (GV-NX86S256H)
2 GB Ram
Asus Xonar HDAV1.3 Slim (Firmware v.1.11 HD)
LG Blu-ray Drive GGC-H20L (Firmware v.1.03)
Windows 7 Ultimate x86
Asus Xonar HDAV Drivers v.7.12.8.1777
Nvidia Drivers v.196.21
Arcsoft TMT3 v.3.0.1.161
@nightfly – You seem to have a similar setup, could you please post a step-by-step guide of how you got the Arcsoft filters working, that seems to be the only part not working for me. I have tried the steps outlined here: http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-148324.html

:thanks:
I did my setup last fall and don't even remember the steps. I do remember it took a lot of trial and error.
My reference thread was here: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=1131365
I posted several followups there - it's a long thread but you know...
You gotta use TMT2 for everything but the audio renderer and for that you use the TMT3 version. I used the retail versions.
Here is a copy of some of the text I extracted from that thread:
First, you will need a copy of TMT2. The trial will work. These instructions will assume that no version of TMT is installed yet. Skip the steps you don't need. Note that on x64 OSes, you will need to replace "Program Files" with "Program Files (x86)".
1. Install TMT 2 as normal.
2. Make a copy of the following folders (replace "[UserName]" with your username:
Code:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\ArcSoft\Bin
C:\Program Files\Common Files\ArcSoft\Connection Service
C:\Users\[UserName]\AppData\Local\ArcSoft\arcsoft mpeg
3. Make a copy of the following file:
Code:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\ArcSoft\MPEG Engine\checkactivate.dll
4. Uninstall TMT 2 and clean the registry (Not necessary for this to work but it may be for TMT 3 Installation).
5. Install TMT 3.
6. Restore the folder copies that you made to the original locations.
7. Place the copy of checkactivate.dll in the following folder:
Code:
C:\Program Files\ArcSoft\TotalMedia Theatre 3\Codec
8. Copy the following text and paste it into a new text document:
Code:
[Main]
Computer Name=MyPC
De-interlace Mode=2
Enabled Output Type=1073741823
Error Skip=0
Frame Skip=1
Enable DeBlock=1
Enable Logo=0
Enable COPP=1
Enable DecoderStat=0
Enable Scramble=0
Auto SW/HW Switch=1
9. Replace "MyPC" with your computer name.
10. Save it to the following file:
Code:
C:\Program Files\ArcSoft\TotalMedia Theatre 3\Codec\ASViD.log
11. Register all the .ax files (or just the ones you want to use) in the following folder:
Code:
C:\Program Files\ArcSoft\TotalMedia Theatre 3\Codec
Steps 8-10 are important. If you don't do them, you will not get DXVA1/2 decoding unless you reset it in the video decoder every time you use it.
You should now be able to use the TMT3 decoders in third party apps. Note that the audio decoders will NOT connect to Dolby sources (any flavor) if you are using the trial.
I have only tested this with the trial so YMMV.
-- Updates re TMT3:
Yeah, I was able to use them in other apps. Andy O and boiler11 did find that the Bin folder needed to be added to your path if you were copying the files from another machine. Since I had TMT2 installed on the same machine, it was already in my path. You could also try copying all the dlls to the TMT3 Codec folder but I'm not sure.
--
I started fresh:
1. Install TMT 2.
2. Update to .125 (last version to not downsample audio in DirectShow players).
3. Rename "C:\Program Files\ArcSoft\TotalMedia Theatre" to "C:\Program Files\ArcSoft\TotalMedia Theatre.bak"
4. Install TMT 3.
5. Remove ".bak" from the TMT 2 folder name.
6. Update TMT 3 to .140
TMT 2 filters still work in DirectShow apps and I'm able to run TMT 3 .140
Step 3 gets around the issue of TMT 3 wanting to uninstall TMT 2. Steps 5 and 6 should be interchangeable.
Note: TMT 2 .125 will not run in Win7/Vista SP2 but I have TMT 3 for that, I just wanted the filters. If you update TMT 2 to .130, it should run as well (not tested).
--
TMT2 v.130+ works on Win7. TMT2 v.131 will go coexist fine with TMT3. I am currently running TMT2 v.131 & TMT3 v.160

First of all, thanks to all for doing DTS-HD, PCM and Dolby True HD is possible for bistreaming, especially to albain!
I have successfully bitstreamed DTS-HD but there is lipsync issues.
When I try to write something in bitstream delay field I can hear nothing. There is no sound when anything is written in this field.
May be there have to be some special options in MPC/ffdshow/etc for running this function?
I have seen this problem at 3251/3254 ffdshow.
I'm using ATi 5870 @ Realtek 2.39
Thank you.

Hi guys.
I found out some weird thing.
actually I am using
Media Player Classic HomeCinema (x86), svn 1597
ffdshow tryouts project, svn 3254 (x86)
on Windows 7 x64 + Asus Xonar 1.3 Slim
I have disabled the internal audio switcher from mpc.
checked matroska in "internal filters" option menue
Threw in 1 DTS-HD-MA 5.1 Track into a x264 encoded MKV.
The result, I got perfect Bitstreaming on my AVR. I jumped forward and backward and the playback was more then fine!
But now the strange part, Iam not able to bistream anymore when I add a second Audio into the mkv.
Using Haali results in No Audio.
When I dont use Haali but the mpc's internal splitter it plays both tracks, enabling the "audio switcher" in mpc-hc is not possible for me as it breaks my bitstreaming on my Xonar.
Does anybody have a solution for this?
I mean its great having dts-hd-ma bitstreamed in mkv :) really great , but its only possible with 1 audio track for me...
Thanks for any replies..

@st0niMah0ni
If you disable the audio switcher, this is normal that you loose the access to the other audio streams.
However it means that the audio switcher breaks the forward/backward playback.
But I think that this only concerns the xonar, right ?
Also, I don't understand why Haali (the latest version) wouldn't work (it does work with ATIs as far as I remember)

I get loss of audio on THD, but it usually comes back after skipping back a chapter. I've not tried any of albain's latest revisions yet though.
I don't play BD disks via MPC though, just mkv remuxes.

I'm on win7 x64 using 7MC. I'm using ffdshow tryouts v 3254
Here's my ffdshow settings: http://i45.tinypic.com/25jcfvk.jpg
It was suggested that I check the box next to "connect as pcm first" that only caused NO video or audio to show up at all.
I've got some m2ts and mkv content with both DTS-MA and Dolby TrueHD audio tracks.
One thing that I am noticing is that when I first fire up a file (m2ts or mkv) it lights up the HD stuff on my receiver just fine, but then i get NO audio unless i "skip forward" or ffw.
Now the odd thing is, if i click STOP , then come back in and restart the movie from the beginning audio works great. Then if i go to a different lossless file they work as well, first click.
(so basically start one lossless file, it doesn't play audio, then stop and back out , restart it or any other file and everything works fine)
****although after further investigation sometimes I do end up having to stop and restart lossless files no matter what.
In the end though, it seems like if we can get past the point of having to stop and restart a file to get sound working, ffdshow seems to be working great otherwise.
I would love to help this project in any way I can. Please let me know what I can do to assist here or let me know what settings I have wrong.

Hi, thx for reply.
I dont know why the latest Haali doesnt work, allready reinstalled it a few times. But if I use haali I dont get sound out of my AVR.
Its showing Truehd and DTS-HD of course, but no sound out of the boxes.
Only the MPC-HC splitter works for me.
And as you suggested , I am a xonar user, so I need to disable the internal audio switcher, if not it will connect to my directsound audio render which is not working with xonar, as far as I know.

{ &MEDIATYPE_Audio , &MEDIASUBTYPE_DTS_HD}

For ATI users, there's still some drop-out issues that are due to ATI drivers.
For Xonar users (using my config at least) I am getting perfect playback/seeking and no-dropouts using build rev3231. I haven't tested more recent builds.

I am running http://www.rage3d.com/board/showthread.php?t=33958721 ATI Beta drivers with my 5670 and I do not notice any dropouts with 3254 except maybe with Star Trek. I believe these are the 10.2 Beta, but they were leaked before 10.1 was officially released.

Thanks for all the efforts getting bitstreaming to work! I have an ATI 5750, an Onkyo 607 and use the latest MPC-HC and FFDshow on Windows 7. I can bitstream successfully with all formats but with some issues. Audio can take a bit before it starts playing. Switching between files (audio formats) requires me to power cycle the receiver often (I notice the dts-ma logo remains on the avr even after playback stops). Often, there is crackling and distortion during playback. Finally, I often have severe distortion and channel playback sometimes gets swapped (front channels playing through rears etc). I have tried a mpc-hc and kmplayer with several different codecs including multiple generations of ati drivers, mpc-hc versions and ffdshow drivers.
Any tips are great. thx

Just a heads up for other Xonar users - the latest build on SF, rev3251, has troubles with THD titles - the movie often refuses to play, I get audio dropouts, lip sync problems, and often no audio at all. Jumping around in the movie timeline sometimes fixes the video playback, but I still get no audio and when I do, there is lip sync delay. I basically restarted several times, started from the beginning and it won't playback with audio. This was with my "stable" setup using the AS splitter as well as with the MPC splitter.
Reverted back to rev3239_beta2 from page 70 and all is perfect again - can start/stop/fwd/rew with no issues and no loss of audio or lip sync using the AS demuxer, infrequent loss of audio when using the MPC-HC standalone mpeg2 splitter (but never any lip sync delay).
