I saw a post (http://forum.handbrake.fr/viewtopic.php?p=73330#p73330) over on the handbrake forums that say tsmuxer confuses the frame rate with the timebase and muxes x264 output at 90000fps.

Is this the case, or does handbrake have an issue? I don't want to waste my time with handbrake if all the encodes will be borked.

I just had a similar problem. Try a negative cut of -352ms to prepend 11 frames of good data to the beginning of the file. That's all the farther tsMuxerR checks. Then apply a 352ms delay to the audio when muxing.

.... when I mux an srt sub file with tsmuxer (avchd output) the sub settings have no effect.
For example, if I change the font size from the default 65 to 48 it still ouputs 65. Same with the other settings, no visible changes.

Any suggestions?

The tsMuxeR settings work; have you ever tried importing your .srt to Subtitle Workshop? Maybe you need to open with Notepad and output as ANSI?

If the .srt file contains <font / size / color > tags it is possible that they override your setting in tsMuxeR_GUI. I don't think it ever happened to me, but you may open the srt in subtitleworkshop and check it yourself.

It looks completely normal. Make sure that you really use the .srt file in your 1st test. There was this guy the other day, reported the same problem.

It turned out that he was using the remuxed m2ts from his 1st test attempt (which contains .sup/PGS subtitles - which cannot be changed by tsMuxeR settings).

I did 2 tests with different settings and all is properly applied:

Your meta shows that you're actually DE-MUXING the m2ts and not re-muxing it into a new AVCHD/Blu-ray structure.

You need to select [x] AVCHD or [x] Blu-ray then the BDMV\STREAM\ folder will contain your newly remuxed 00000.m2ts with the correct subtitle settings applied. :)

Ok, I've tried a few more tests with short clips and the settings seem to be applied now .

Well, the 2 bd's that I looked at were Indiana Jones Crystal Skull and Diehard 4 and after comparing the screenies, they were awfully close to 48pt. Both were 2.35:1 and the subs were much closer to the bottom edge (more like 120), however I prefer your 146.

This because I'd like to see what the original BD sub font style, size and bottom offset are. Is this even possible ?

The only way to accomplish that is:

1) Start tsmuxer_GUI
2) Extract the stream you need (using DEMUX and selecting only the subtitle tracks you want to review)
3) You'll get a .SUP file for each subtitle track
4) Start BDsup2sub and load the subtitle track

You'll need to have JAVA installed for BDsup2sub.

I have a simple .cmd file on my desktop and I drag various image-based subtitles (like SUP/PGS in that case) to review before further processing:

java -jar d:\multiavchd\tools\bdsup2sub.jar %1

Replace d:\multiavchd\tools\ with the path to your copy of BDsup2sub.

5) When you load the .SUP you'll need to set the original resolution and framerate - make sure you do that.

BDsup2sub will show the exact position and will give you an idea of how subtitles will look in your final mux.

I forgot to add:

There is no such thing as "subtitle font/style/size" with image based subtitles. They are just images/pictures. In most cases you can get a visual idea of the style/font/size by looking at the pictures (shown in BDsup2sub) and the coordinates/offset and then decide what font/style to use for text-based subtitles to get closer match to the original ones.

Up till now (again rarely) I've been using TMT, capturing screen shots, and then measuring the font size and experimenting with the offset to get it close to the original.

Yes... And don't be fooled by the things you see in the 'meta'-window about fonts/sizes/offsets. tsMuxeR cannot change these when you process PGS subtitles (but it shows these parameters in the meta lines). I think it can only resize the subtitles (but sometimes fails and that's why I use bdsup2sub for the job).

On the contrary... BD named chapters are supported as I already said in the META folder. And normal BD players support them via BD-J and depending on the your player specs. I wouldn't say PCH is a regular bd player. I'm not aware of another way to store chapter names, actor names, cast, storyline and a lot of other things, supported in these xml files.

I wouldn't say PCH is a regular bd player. I'm not aware of another way to store chapter names, actor names, cast, storyline and a lot of other things, supported in these xml files.

Any chance to mux IGS?
BDedit can load and save the IGS (similar format as SUP, elementary stream stuffed with PTS/DTS values) of the menu so only one step is missing to editing or creating BD menus now...

Hello everyone,

Not sure if this topic is still relevant or not... but I'm trying to use tsmuxer on linux to mux .mkv to .m2ts. After generating the meta file and running tsmuxer I keep getting a "Can't detect stream type" error and I'm not sure how to fix this. I'm trying to do this all in console as I just ssh into my linux machine.

Hopefully someone might be able to shed some insight on how to get this working. It would be real sweet if I could do this!

For subtitles, where does tsmuxer get the default fonts from and can I add a font(s) ?

Edit: turned out that just installing a new font in the windows font dir makes it available in tsmuxer.
I had asked because Avatar uses the papyrus font for the na'vi speaking parts.

Hi, is there a way to demux the hole movie sound from a movie even if there´s seems to be spreed on different m2ts fileson the dvd? Tried with TsMuxed, but it didnt collect hole movie sound only the present one out of the m2ts!? :(
Is there a tool to exktact DTS-HD, DTS and/or AC3 from a movie even if its on several m2ts´s ?

You'll have to find the correct movie PLAYLIST (mpls) and import it in tsMuxeR. Do not use single M2TS files.

Use BDinfo or some other tool to determine which MPLS file holds all information about the movie and import it.

Then you can demux/remux only the video/audio/subtitles or extract the SD core of HD-audio tracks.
