Hi Nathan,

Are you configuring the PS3 to output/pass a DTS bit-stream to an external digital surround sound (DSS) amplifier?

As a newbie to this area, I have been able to use this great tool to create BluRay output from HD-DVD's and Blu-Rays using video and AC3 tracks only, that play in a AVCHD folder on a USB drive attached to the PS3

tsMuxeR has been easy to use - thanks for this

But a couple of specific questions

How do I get the "audio delay"
I see that tsMuxeR has a setting to allow for this

Does tsMuxeR automatically adjust for the audio delay in a particular track?
If not, what tool do I use to get the delay?

Secondly with regard to digital audio formats "higher" than 5.1 AC3 or DTS, it seems that most or all of these have to be converted to 6.1 or 7.1 LPCM to preserve the additional info (at cost of larger size)

How do I convert these higher formats to allow them to be remuxed subsequently with tsMuxeR? - formats like DTS-MA 7.1, DTS-HD 7.1?

If a movie already has LPCM 7.1 format, I can use that directly - correct?

One final question, while I haven't come across a movie with branching structure yet, does the current tsMuxeR output allow for branching structure?

Hope you can help out
Jeff

What do you mean saying "automatically"? Just use your ears as such a tool.

TsMuxer supports *.mpls files and appending for this task.

Hi man, i am sorry, my english is very poor. I will try to explain for you. I have many files in 720p (lost, smallville, etc). I want to put them in one dvd-r (4.5 or 8.5). I fallow the guide post here, using nerovision. Works in blu-ray player, but dont work in ps3. I burn the disc with udf 2.5. When i put the disc in one blu-ray player, the player open the menu and play every episodes very well, but when i put in ps3, the ps3 show data disc. I have try to burn in udf 2.6, i have try to create a avchd and i have try to create blu-ray structure, dont work anyway. I have use dvd-r 4.5.
When i create blu-ray structure with tsmuxer for one file, works very well in ps3.
I try to join the files with mkvmerge, but the image for the second files was distorcing.
I want to put many files in one dvd-r, thats it.
I am sorry for my bad english.

[What do you mean saying "automatically"? Just use your ears as such a tool.

Basically what I am asking here is whether in a typical Bly-Ray movie file (being processed by tsRemuxeR) there is any delay in the start of any of the audio tracks, or do they all start at time "zero"?

If there is a delay in the start of audio tracks,is there any tool to tell what what this delay is? e.g. -65msec

I agree this can be guestimated using ears, but in the past I have found that my ears often slip up here (when I used do a similar process with DVD's?)

TsMuxer supports *.mpls files and appending for this task.

How do I get the "audio delay"

eac3to

How do I convert these higher formats to allow them to be remuxed subsequently with tsMuxeR? - formats like DTS-MA 7.1, DTS-HD 7.1?

eac3to source.m2ts destination.pcm

Pcm2Tsmu destination.pcm destination_2.pcm

source.m2ts + destination_2.pcm -> tsMuxeR -> final_destination.m2ts

If a movie already has LPCM 7.1 format, I can use that directly - correct?

Yes.

One final question, while I haven't come across a movie with branching structure yet, does the current tsMuxeR output allow for branching structure?

If the source BluRay is MPEG2 then you can just use tsMuxeR as stated above. If it's AVC you will need to use eac3to to properly join the segmented files.

Hi Nathan,

Are you configuring the PS3 to output/pass a DTS bit-stream to an external digital surround sound (DSS) amplifier?

Sorry was away for a couple of days! Yes the PS3 is configured OK. If you look at the properties of the files being played the PS3 reports that there is no audio track (as the splitter is not outputing it....)
Thanks

Sorry for my bad english.

My english is very poor too. Do you speak portuguese ? if yes i can send you a private message explain everything. I will crete a guide and post here soon.
I use tsmuxer for create a blu-ray structure for each one of the episodes. EX: for episode one use tsmuxer and save the blu-ray structure in folder C:\LOST\1. Episode 2 in folder C:\LOST\2 and episode 3 and folder C:\LOST\3. Now open nerovision and choice a AVCHD and add 3 small archives of any movie ( i insert 3 movies of 1 sec each). Now create a AVCHD and save in folder C:\LOST\MENU. Use my post above for move and delete files. You can copy my post and save like a .bat, click two times and .bat will go to all make the work automatically for you.
Sorry, my english is very poor. I will try to make a guide for this.
you can search here in this fórum, have a post to create blu-ray with nero, but does not work for ps3, but you can catch the main idea and adapt it my way to create avchd.
Sorry peaple, I really would like to help and collaborate with this fórum, but my English is limited.
when the guide to be ready i will post here.

I have MPTS (or SPTS in 38.8mbits) which I want to remux into 19mbits Transport stream. Seems like tsmuxer is the best to do the job. However I'm having little problem because I want the PCR needs to be on the Video PID and it seems like it's creating continuity errors when I use the option "--pcr-on-video-pid". Usually you add the PCR in the Adaptation header and not on a separate PID packet (wasting a few bytes when you do). Anyway, it's ok to be a seperate MPEG-2 packet but continuity counter needs to be altered in the original video PID. Seems like something quite easy to fix.

Example :
ts warning: discontinuity received 0x0 instead of 0x0 (pid=4113)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0xe instead of 0xe (pid=4113)
ts warning: discontinuity received 0x7 instead of 0x7 (pid=4113)

Also, is it possible to specify the PID I want in the output Transport stream?

Thanks.

I believe that what you are reporting as a bug in Nero is not exactly like that. The structure that Nero creates on the hard disk is compliant with the "AVCHD in FAT32 hard disk specification".

If you try to play those files from a USB FAT32 formatted hard disk (putting everything under the AVCHD folder in the root directory) it most likely will play, with menu, etc.... (and you don't need to burn a DVD)

Your script is replicating other existing scripts that are used to change filenames to/from tsmuxer / FAT32 devices

Good work nevertheless....

Hi

I muxed a M2TS file (from camcorder canon HG10) into a TS file with TSmuxerGUI

When I analyse these M2TS file with the MTS4EA from Tecktronix, everything is OK

When I open the TS file, appear this alert message :

"An Access Unit Delimiter NALU was found in an unexpected place. Access delimiter NAL units must occur at the beginning of an access unit."

I think that is because M2TS is a 192 octet packet file and the TS is a 188 octet file. And when you change the length of the packets, the beginning of the NAL Unit is not starting at the beginning of the new packets...

It's not an Error, just an Alert. It's just not totally complinent.
It's possible to open the file.

Thanks for this usefull soft.

However, I am noticing the audio in the joined file appears to be out of sync. It appears to have a slight delay in the audio. Does anyone has suggestion on how I can fix that? Thanks

I am guessing you are using an AVCHD camcorder? Try using eac3to to join the files instead and see if that helps.

Привет, Роман.

Извини, что по русски :-)

У меня проблема с перегонкой из MKV в TS в кодеке VC-1 таких фильмов (выложил фрагменты, прошу доработать TSMuxer):

http://rapidshare.com/files/120836537/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Constantine.mkv (http://rapidshare.com/files/120836537/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Constantine.mkv.html) (30Mb)
http://rapidshare.com/files/120839997/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Matrix-1.mkv (http://rapidshare.com/files/120839997/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Matrix-1.mkv.html) (30Mb)
http://rapidshare.com/files/120844210/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Troy.mkv (http://rapidshare.com/files/120844210/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Troy.mkv.html) (30Mb)
http://rapidshare.com/files/120847103/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Waterworld.mkv (http://rapidshare.com/files/120847103/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Waterworld.mkv.html) (30Mb)

Указанные фильмы проигрываются на PC через Haali + Libavcodec

AVI-Mux GUI.
После демуксинга он также не воспринимается ни TSMuxer, ни Elecard XMuxer Pro.

И таких файлов MKV VC1, в которых поток прописан как V_VC1 немало, я выложил фрагменты только некоторых фильмов, их гораздо больше.
Прошу помощи, спасибо.

Just tried something, I just remux a movie and forget to patch level to 4.1. My m2ts file play fine in PS3 even with a level 5.1. I will try other movies that do not play before.

Stay tuned.

Привет, Роман.

Извини, что по русски :-)

У меня проблема с перегонкой из MKV в TS в кодеке VC-1 таких фильмов (выложил фрагменты, прошу доработать TSMuxer):

http://rapidshare.com/files/120836537/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Constantine.mkv (http://rapidshare.com/files/120836537/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Constantine.mkv.html) (30Mb)
http://rapidshare.com/files/120839997/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Matrix-1.mkv (http://rapidshare.com/files/120839997/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Matrix-1.mkv.html) (30Mb)
http://rapidshare.com/files/120844210/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Troy.mkv (http://rapidshare.com/files/120844210/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Troy.mkv.html) (30Mb)
http://rapidshare.com/files/120847103/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Waterworld.mkv (http://rapidshare.com/files/120847103/HDTV-1080p_VC-1_Waterworld.mkv.html) (30Mb)

Указанные фильмы проигрываются на PC через Haali + Libavcodec

AVI-Mux GUI.
После демуксинга он также не воспринимается ни TSMuxer, ни Elecard XMuxer Pro.

И таких файлов MKV VC1, в которых поток прописан как V_VC1 немало, я выложил фрагменты только некоторых фильмов, их гораздо больше.
Прошу помощи, спасибо.

Interesting ???
Have you ever thought what if we all post here in our mother tongues?
Why not to try PM?

This file didn't work before, I'm with 2.35 firmware on the ps3, just remux audio and video without patching level to m2ts via TSMuxer. FIle plays just fine now.

Guys, i'm muxing to M2TS container with tsmuxer and streaming using wmp11 to my ps3. Everything works if i mux small files (e.g. 1GB maybe 2GB) but when i mux large files (like 4-6-8GB) although i can see them from the ps3 they play for a couple of seconds and then stop. Clicking information from ps3 shows that the files are 700K-800K.
Got any ideas? should i use another server or something?
cheers

Try TVersity, i've streamed 8gb+ files with no problem.

Yes i installed tversity last night and i can stream without transcoding most of the m2ts HD files.
But there is another problem, when i try to go to a certain point of a movie it freezes. This happens with large files only. In 1gb episode HD files i can go to any point and it begins playback after 4-5 seconds.

So that was it. You should create "Blu-Ray" disk in nero vision, not "AVCHD" disk.

No, i have to create a avchd disc whith nerovision and replace the files with the blu-ray structure create by tsmuxer.

J

Ok, but i dont test with FAT32, and i dont find any script in the net about that. I create this for my files, for burn in a dvd-r 4.5. I try with script post here, dont work in ps3. My intention is play multiple files with menu and subtitles, burn in dvd-r. I dont want play in a FAT32 devices., so, works now and i am very happy.

It seems to me too that level 5.1 works now on the PS3.

I was previously using TsRemux to slim-down .m2ts blu-ray movies to then play through my TViX M-6500. If I didn't uncheck "bypass audio alignment", DTS-HD audio tracks skip every few seconds.

Now that I'm finding some Blu-Ray movies segmented, I found the nearly perfect solution in Ea2to and tsMuxeR to create my final .m2ts movies.

My problem: No "bypass audio alignment" in tsMuxeR, thus I'm having my DTS-HD sound issue.

Is there a comparable "bypass..." function in tsMuxeR or some other solution?

It seems that aac tracks in mkv files are not detected by tsMuxeR (some people have reported this and I can confirm this too) but is this a bug or a normal thing (knowing that when demuxed these tracks are usable in tsMuxeR) ? I can't find a clear answer ...

I just installed latest version of Cyberlink PowerDVD 8 Ultra. I noticed that I get no audio from any of my .m2ts files with DTS tracks. I then tried to remux one DVD .vob to .m2ts. Original vob plays fine and PDVD detects DTS track but with .m2ts it thinks there is no audio tracks. Something wrong with the tsmuxer maybe?

You MUST create "BLU-RAY" disk in NeroVision if you wish to burn result to DVD-R(W) / BD-R(E)
You MUST create "AVCHD" disk in NeroVision if you wish to play result from USB (flash)disks.

Hi,
Very good tool, but I need a feature. Is it possible, in the next release, to open a MTS file ?
It's a file from a canon HD camcorder, coded in AVCHD at 15Mb

If you need you can download a exemple (4794 Ko) :

http://dl.free.fr/lpsM0iXOw/00015.MTS

Thanks a lot...
Titof

I have this problem too. I just rename my files to .m2ts and it works just fine. I think it is just a bug in the way it determines whether the file is a 188-byte packet file or a 192-byte packet file (it thinks your .mts is 188 when it is 192). This would be nice to get fixed though, but the work around is pretty easy:

rename *.mts *.m2ts

I would like to start by saying what a nice program tsMuxer is. I am using it to join (append) mutliple mts files from my sony camcorder. The program does it fast and nicely. However, I am noticing the audio in the joined file appears to be out of sync. It appears to have a slight delay in the audio. Does anyone has suggestion on how I can fix that? Thanks

This is another feature I would really like to see added to tsMuxeR. I made up an Excel spreadsheet to help me overcome this problem with my Canon HF100. The problem is that the audio is usually slightly longer than the video since the audio is made up of 32ms AC3 frames. What needs to be done is the total number of video frames and audio frames needs to be counted as it is going along. When a join point comes, if the audio is now more than 16 ms longer that the video, the last frame should simply be thrown away. This will give it a slight negative offset, but that will soon be corrected once the next clip or so has ended. This is what my Excel spreadsheet does. It is complicated, and uses a few other tools to do everything:

DGAVCIndex to count video frames
AC3 Cutter to count audio frames
tsMuxeR to join all clips with audio (out of sync)
AC3 Cutter again to remove audio frames where necessary.
tsMuxeR again to join all clips and merge with corrected audio

However, it DOES work. I'm sure that if tsMuxeR is able to determine the number of video and audio frames going by, this type of merge should be easy enough to add to it. I know I'm not the only one with one of these AVCHD camcorders, so it would be a valuable addition indeed. If Roman is still watching this thread, I'd be glad to assist him in adding this feature.

Hi, one quick question: If I just want to strip some audio and subtitle tracks, simply remux the original Blu-ray .m2ts file, does it matter if I use 'M2TS muxing' or 'Create Blu-ray disk' as the Output option?
Would both resulting streams be in any way different from one another AND more importantly from the original one?
Does 'M2TS muxing' mean that a .TS file will be created, whereas 'Create Blu-ray disk' will create not only Blu-ray folders but also a Blu-ray compliant .m2ts file?
Or is the only difference the BD structure?

And could someone explain me the difference between .ts and .m2ts streams?

Would really appreciate your input on this one,
thx in advance.

Hi, one quick question
BD structure is not only M2TS file itself. So if you wish to burn AVCHD/BDMV disk you must use 'Create Blu-ray disk' option.
If you wish to play your movie as file then you must use ".ts" output, 'cause it's smaller then ".m2ts" file, 'cause its packets have smaller size.

I would be very happy to have this available. I also have an AVCHD Sony camcorder...

On another issue, is there any new info about the "jumps" we see when splitting the m2ts file in a FAT32 device (playing on PS3) ? Is there a way to solve it ?

I jsut found out about htis tool and reading hte first page I saw "SRT subtitles" in the streams to be muxed and was so excited!

Is it possible with this tool to add Greek SRT subs to my blu-rays keeping ht estructure intact and avoiding re-encoding of video/audio ?

5.1 level works with 720p movies but not 5.1 -> 1080p movies!
It`s not a rule. Some 720p work, some don`t. Same for 1080p. Everything depend on luck in this case.
