To my eternal sadness, MeGui is as good as totally unusable in Vista:
Hi asarian,
As far as i understand you are not living issues with MeGui itself but you are living issues with installing MeGui in Vista or updating it???
If so, install it into a folder you created-like MeGui folder- on Desktop, you will see auto update is working.

Does tsMuxeR remap the blu-ray LPCM channels when demuxing, like eac3to?
I searched, but could find only one post, (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=1112986#post1112986) which I don't think is definitive.
In my test the output wav's from tsmuxer are always with correct channel mapping.
This worked:
eac3to source.mlp destination.wavs
destination.wavs + dummy.vc1 -> Scenarist -> destination_2.m2ts
Video.vc1 + destination_2.m2ts -> tsMuxeR -> final_destination.ts
It's strange because Top Gun HD-DVD with TrueHD plays fine using Pcm2Tsmu. Oh well, I have a working method for me. I've got some other stuff to do today........
Please put the eac3to log file.
@tom0520c
Thanks for the info, I'll give it a try! What if I used only tsRemux in the first place and not tsmuxer, would I only have to do it once??
Tyee i tried this last with the Dolby TrueHD track and guess what it still does not play, I am resigned to the fact that there is no software yet available that will alllow the Dolby TrueHD track play from an external USB drive in an AVCHD folder.
I now look for titles with just DTS-HD MA to play from the external hard drive and get MKV for the rest.

Hi,
Is there any chance for an option to not use full paths (aka short paths) in the meta file?
Example:
V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC, "C:\videos\movie.h264", insertSEI, contSPS, track=1, lang=eng
A_DTS, "C:\videos\movie.dts", track=2, lang=eng
S_TEXT/UTF8, "C:\videos\movie.srt", ...
changes to:
V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC, "movie.h264", insertSEI, contSPS, track=1, lang=eng
A_DTS, "movie.dts", track=2, lang=eng
S_TEXT/UTF8, "movie.srt", ...

Ive got a little problem and Im hoping someone has the answer :)
I demuxed the LPCM track from the Patriot blu ray using eac3to and then converted it to a 1.5mb dts track
However, when I come to mux this into a m2ts with the h264 stream tsmuxer returns an error message
"cant detect stream type"
Anyone got any ideas?
The dts track plays perfectly in MPC so it seems ok on first look...
Thanks in advance for any info/guidance

With this CMD:
eac3to source.m2ts destination.dts
You shouldn't have any problems. You need to let eac3to do ALL the work including calling Surcode. Don't demux the track separately and then run it through Surcode. You need to do it all in one CMD. Also make sure the channels are being remapped from BluRay LPCM -> 6 channels. I've done this tons of times with ZERO problems.

I managed to muck around a bit with the directories, and it updates now! Thanks. :)
I finally went with RipBot264, though, as MeGUI still gave me an unplayable (black) mp4. With RipBot264, you just open the m2ts files with the VC-1 stream in it, set everything to max, and presto, you have a shiny new AVC stream in no time! Well, actually, it took 10 hours, lol, but I've yet to see any prog that is so easy to use that even a newbie like yours truly can get it to work. :)

Here is a sample of the video, hopefully this helps more.

I have many more files like this that do the same thing. I am able to demux it with eac3to and I think TSRemux but that just gives different errors and its still unable to open the files.
Anyone able to shed some light? Still having this problem
Hi asarian,
are you sure NetFramework 3.5 is loaded in your PC?
BTW: If you don't mind, pls cut a 25 sec. m2ts from your problematic BD rip via TSMuxer and upload it to rapid?
I'll send you back as what you want :)

I found the problem - I was using an old version of surcode 1.021 now on 1.023 and tsmuxer accepts it - Thanks for the info though ;)

I think I found a bug... I had changed the fps of h264 to 23.976 with h264info. Then muxed with mkvtoolnix the file +audio (dts)
Now when I want to create a bluray disk wit Tsmuxer it gives me this error: Reading buffer overflow. Possible container streams are not syncronized. Please, verify stream fps. The movie is 26 gb. But when I split the movie first with mkvtoolnix (500mb), Tsmuxer works correctly!
Can someone help me out??
Edit:
I have extract the h264 track after I had changed the fps and muxed a new mkv. I added the track in Tsmuxer with the orginel dts audio.
Then without any errors I have created the bluray output with Tsmuxer so I think this must be a bug...

Why not let tsMuxeR remove the pulldown? I have done that with all my AVC HD-DVD's w/o issue. I get warnings sometimes in tsMuxeR when doing this but flawless playback.

I'm after some advice from the PS/3er's! Unfotunatly my HTPC is in the shop so I wanted to stream the contents of an HD-DVD to the PS/3 from another PC so the kids could watch a movie. The EVO's have been extracted using AnyDVD (and I can play them just fine using direct draw filters).
I used tsMuxeR GUI 1.8.4 to open up the EVO and selected for processing:
1) Video: H.264 prfile: High@4.1 Resolution : 1920:1080p Frame Rate: 29.97 (pulldown)
2) Audio: E-AC3 (DD+) Bitrate 1536Kbps Sample Rate: 48KHz Channels: 6
I have tried outputing these as TS / M2TS / Create Blu-ray etc but while the resultant file seems to open on the PS/3 but it is just a blank screen though there are no error reported by the PS/3. These same files can be played in Showtime just fine. I'm guessing that the PS/3 does not like the DD+ track (as the video thumbnail preview plays on the PS/3) but I thought the PS/3 supported this format (it has the latest firmware). Any idea / what are the best settings to use?
Thanks

This tool is very nice. I used it quite often.
Only problem with addind srt files is that it cannot read tags for Italic or bold fonts.
Also with letters like é è ö etc etc (special signs) it cannot read those aswell, it gives me other characters like @ß.
If you can fix those small problems, it would be the most awesome tool available!
thanks, i thought i just report it, maybe someone already did, but i still do it.

All I do is:
select the AVC stream -> manually select 24000/1001 -> select 'remove pulldown'.
As I said, I do get warnings but the muxing continues and the playback is flawless. Does tsMuxeR stop muxing when you get these warnings? You may have to do what I do and manually select the FPS and check 'remove pulldown', not just check 'remove pulldown'. I am also using a 1080p60 display and not sure if you would get proper playback using a 24p display.

OK...the problem was on my end as I was not using the 16bit switch cause I'm a retard who doesn't like to read instructions.
This works:
Pcm2Tsmu source.pcm destination.pcm -i 16
Sorry about that. All good now. Perhaps you should start a new topic for Pcm2Tsmu so people can find it more easily. It seems we have scared off roman76r.

As an avid PS3 supporter, I hope I can help you. :) I would do two things:
1): Remove pulldown.
2): Convert DD+ stream as follows (if 00001.m2ts is your file; works with EVO too):
eac3to.exe 00001.m2ts 00001.ac3 -640 -8ms
Where "-8ms" is the possible offset (don't forget that! eac3to will show you which offset to use, if any).
Then rejoin the demuxed AVC stream (sans the pulldown) + the new ac3 sound, and you have a streamable PS3 file!

The delay is automatically applied by eac3to, so if you manually add "-8ms" to the command line the delay is applied twice - which is too much! And "-640" is the default, so you don't need to type it in. Basically you can simply do "eac3to 00001.m2ts 00001.ac3".

Hmm, I could have sworn I only saw eac3to say something to the affect of "Adjusting RAWAVC offset" when I manually added the delay. But maybe that was on a stream I had already demuxed first (in the beginning I didn't realize it could just take a whole m2ts container for input).
Thanks, anyway. These things are good to know. :)

Hmm, I could have sworn I only saw eac3to say something to the affect of "Adjusting RAWAVC offset" when I manually added the delay.
The reason is simple: An AC3 frame is usually 32ms long. That means delaying an AC3 stream can only be done in 32ms steps - unless you want to decode and reencode the data (which would cost audio quality). Now a delay of e.g. +/-8ms is so small that it can't be applied. eac3to simply ignores it. However, if you add another +/-8ms on top of that, we have +/-16ms and that is exactly half an AC3 frame. In this case eac3to removes/adds one AC3 frame.

Thanks asarian - I've had a play and can stream to the PS3 with the downcoverted DD+ but did not apply any audio delay and paid the price with it being out of sync!
As I've got a reasonable AV setup I also tried to mux back in a PCM & LPCM conversions of the DD+ track (as I prefer quality over space) but I got a tsMuxeR error of "Can't Detect Stream Type". Can MT2 files hold LPCM/PCM and can I convert a DD+ track from EVO and mux it back in?

Hey Guys,
Hope this helps anyone who has been having trouble turning the Transformers disc into a stable m2ts (at least for the nmt a100). As I have been experimenting with it to get the best picture. The key is to uncheck "Add Picture Timing Info".
I have a question about what "Add Picture Timing Info" actually does. I found while converting my Transformers HD-DVD that if I go with the default values in the tsMuxerGUI (which has add picture timing info checked), I get really bad "jitter" on text. It is like the frame is deinterlacing very poorly and the text jumps up and down a pixel every refresh.
This can be seen more easily on the IronMan trailer on the same disc. The Text on the Green PG rating screen before the trailer starts jitters horribly. Unchecking "Add Picture Timing Info" makes the image rock solid.
Any idea what is going on?
Thanks,
Jeff

IMHO, you're just gonna waste space doing DD+ -> PCM. You're better off doing DD+ -> AC3/DTS depending on the bitrate. I hear ZERO difference between a 5.1 DD+ track and it's equivalent AC3/DTS. And, yes you can use (L)PCM in M2TS but for tsMuxeR to accept home made PCM tracks you need to use:
Pcm2tsmu source.pcm destination.pcm
and then input destination.pcm into tsMuxeR.

Well, it depends a bit on the bitrate of the DD+ track. There are DD+ tracks with 192kbps (ok, those are usually stereo). And there are some with 1536kbps. Those with 1536kbps are pretty near to lossless. Reencoding a 1536kbps DD+ track to 640kbps AC3 hurts a bit. But then many guys are also reencoding PCM tracks to AC3. So I guess everybody should just decide for himself what he wants to do...

After remux by TsMuxeR , remux it again by TsRemux . It works well
Thats right, that really does it. But then you "lose" all your fine custom chapter points and your multi language settings, i.e. one track tagged as english, one as spanish etc.
Therefore i looked at both playlists (one from tsmuxer and te other from tsremux) with bdedit 0.17b and they only appear to be different in one place: Open playlist menu and read the 0000.mpls file. In the upper middle there should be checked only bypass mixer (after tsremux) and after tsmuxer theres only audio mix checked. But i dont know the difference between them, except that truehd does play when only bypass mixer is checked.
@kalle2k3
So can we just edit the *.mpls file and make it play? If yes, can bdedit actually edit this file for us?

I do 1536kbps DD+ -> 1536kbps DTS, just like most AVR's do that don't decode DD+ and it sounds exactly the same. DD+ is lossy so doing DD+ -> PCM is like doing MP3 -> PCM and thinking you're listening to the CD but as I said, IMHO. You wanna waist space, knock yourself out :p

I'm going to need to convert all my HD-DVD to the Network at some point and to get them to play reliably on my equipment (HTPC / PS3).
Container: I'm a bit confisuded (well no idea would be closer) of the relative mertis of M2 and M2TS containers - any suggestions of which is "best" for my application and why?
Video: Should be OK as I'm just not that keen to do any transcoding!
Audio: It seem that the bigest issue I'll have is what format to transcode the HD-DVD DD+ (etc) tracks to that which:
1) Does not degrade the Audio (eg AC3 has 2.5 times less info than DD+)
2) Is widely supported by PC Splitters for my HTPC (I've pretty much got all combo's working fine)
3) Is supported by the PS/3 (eg I've had problems with MPEG/DTS muxed tracks as the PS/3 splitter (like many) does not push out any audio from MPG containters).
4) I Don't care about the relative file space consumed by the Audio
I'm really after the least "hassle" possible in the EVO --> M2(TS) process as possible! I'd much rather just juse tsMuxeR to change the container format from EVO to M2(TS) without any transcoding at all but it does not look possible given I'll need to stream the kids stuff to the PS3 which does not like DD+ apparantly.
Given the above is L/PCM a good choice for my HD-DVD's Audio transcoding (where needed) or is there other options.
Thanks

I'd much rather just juse tsMuxeR to change the container format from EVO to M2(TS) without any transcoding at all but it does not look possible given I'll need to stream the kids stuff to the PS3 which does not like DD+ apparantly.
Given the above is L/PCM a good choice for my HD-DVD's Audio transcoding (where needed) or is there other options.
Thanks
Nathan
I personally do not own a PS3 but as far as HD-DVD audio goes I have gotten transparent results from the following:
640k/< DD+ -> AC3
768k/1536k DD+ -> DTS
TrueHD -> PCM
I have heard that the PS3 does have problems with DTS audio in certain instances and if that is the case then you will need to use PCM for 768k/1536k DD+. I use an NMT and use TS as a container for my HD-DVD conversions and M2TS for my ES BluRay rips.

So can we just edit the *.mpls file and make it play? If yes, can bdedit actually edit this file for us?
Hi Tyee,
I tried various ways this evening and cannot get the TrueHD track to play even with altering the .mpls file and still no joy, the only hope is for a split file function in TSremuxer and thats it.

Hi,
Very good tool, but I need a feature. Is it possible, in the next release, to open a MTS file ?
It's a file from a canon HD camcorder, coded in AVCHD at 15Mb
If you need you can download a exemple (4794 Ko) :

Thanks a lot...

Thanks for those providing advice so far and so far here is my process to convert a HD-DVD with an H.264 Video and a DD+ Audio stream into a TS container streamable to a PS/3 (and playable on my HTPC).
1) Demuxing & Audio Conversion: using Eac3to More GUI by Yraen V1.09 Beta 2 ---> "C:\eac3to\eac3to.exe" "F:\HVDVD_TS\FEATURE_1.EVO"+"F:\HVDVD_TS\FEATURE_2.EVO" 3: "D:\To Mux\Video.h264" 5: "D:\To Mux\audio.pcm" Where the:
A) Video was reported as h264/AVC, 1080p24 /1.001 (16:9) with pulldown flags
B) Audio was reported as E-AC3, English, 5.1 channels, 1536kbit/s, 48khz, dialnorm: -27dB, -84ms
2) PCM to PCM-TS Conversion: used the "Pcm2tsmu "D:\To Mux\audio.pcm" "D:\To Mux\audiots.pcm"" to convert the PCM track to something that tsMuxeR would like.
3) Remuxing: tsMuxeR GUI 1.8.4 Settings were as follows (basically as default except to change the fps) where the meta files was MUXOPT --no-pcr-on-video-pid --new-audio-pes --vbr --vbv-len=500 V_MPEG4/ISO/AVC, "D:\To Mux\Video.h264", fps=23.976, insertSEI, contSPS, delPulldown A_LPCM, "D:\To Mux\audiots.pcm"
During the muxing I got the following error messages:
Warning! Source stream contain irregular pulldown marks. Mistiming between original fps and fps/1.25(without pulldown) exceed 100ms.
Warning! Source stream contain irregular pulldown marks. Mistiming between original fps and fps/1.25(without pulldown) exceed 200ms.
Warning! Source stream contain irregular pulldown marks. Mistiming between original fps and fps/1.25(without pulldown) exceed 400ms.
Results: All seems to play fine with the exception that there are no Chapters (I had it marked as one per 5 Minutes).
Any advice on Errors / Improvements / Omissions / Simplifications would be welcome as I certainly only want to do this once!
Thanks
Nathan

This is the same warning I get when removing pulldown from HD-DVD AVC streams with tsMuxeR but have gotten flawless playback. You should be good to go :)

In made a AVCHD for the ps3 on a externel hd but I get only audio and a blank screen.
The mkv info from media info: 1920x1080 23.976 AVC 5.1 (cabac/6 Ref Frames) DTS. So I have changed the 5.1 profile to 4.1 profile with H264info... but stil no luck. This is the second movie with a blank screen so I really want to fix it (if possible)
Someone have got any idea's??

can someone give me a hand here:
i am trying to convert a hd-dvd to blu ray
with evodemux i get the dd+ and vc-1, extracting all seperate wavs with eac3to and sonic, muxing it back tu dts with surcode.
however if i try to add all up in tsremuxer it says it cannot detect the stream type, if i use dts wav it says it's lpcm but in mpc it shows that audio is missing.
You must use eac3to again: "eac3to encoded.dts fixed.dts" to remove "zero padding".

I guess in this case only reencode to BD compliant video would help.

So as not to get off topic in this thread - I've posed the question over at AVS if anyone has any insight! http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?p=14002394#post14002394
Thanks
