Hi roman76r would you please consider adding pal audio speedup/slowdown
as a future option like eac3to ? thanksThat would be an interesting option :)

Given the overwhelming interest with regard to placing, audio, video, subtitles and chapters within "transport" containers, I'd like to see TSmuxer add support for muxing MPEG-4 part-2 video ;)

Your mistake was the muxing to *.ts
If you want a ts, keep your srt subs separate and use DirectVobSub to display them. Be advised that VobSub kills DXVA if you were planning on using hardware acceleration.
Otherwise, mux everything to BluRay and let PowerDVD do the decoding.

OK.
This is the procedure i followed:
Export Sup > OCR All > SRT > Save as SRT (in SUPRead)
After i remuxed to BD.
I tried reading this file with PDVD7, PDVD8 and TMT; no subtitles.
And gave it a go with GraphEdit using DirectVobSub (of course no expectation of HA) and here it is; no sup (BTW, i couldn't use sub as standalone):

http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/5536/directvobsubmf8.th.jpg (http://img205.imageshack.us/my.php?image=directvobsubmf8.jpg)

Then, using the same raw files, i remuxed to mkv with MkvMergeGUI and i got sup this time (tried with GraphEdit and WMP)

http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/6890/mkvnewbw6.th.jpg (http://img514.imageshack.us/my.php?image=mkvnewbw6.jpg)

There must be still something wrong?

For read the video, i use VLC

Any solution to converting these videos in TS ?

++

Thanks.
I haven't tried with AAC yet but with other audio formats and without subtitles you can convert to TS.
I've been trying to find a solution to convert to TS with subtitles.

Do you know the cause of this error?
the mkv plays fine

I do have a question..

I do not have a PS3, and do not plan on owning one (lack of IR receiver is my sticking point for that).

Is it possible to use tsMuxer, to keep the video + the *DTS* audio stream, and output it in the blu-ray structure or AVCHD, and be able to play it on a stand-alone Blu-ray player from either a DVD-DL or BD-R disc?

Thank you. Great work.
I'm using it a lot to create m2ts files playable in the PS3 with AC3 5.1 ch.

If you check this thread you will find most people have reported this method rarely works on standalone players. If however, you want to use a HTPC to watch your BDs you should be fine.

P.S. Many thanks to the author - this is an incredible piece of software.

Hi,

I'd like to say a huge "THANKS" to roman for this great tool. A chance for all video lovers !

I'm facing the problem that PGS subtitles are not recognized by my player, which is able to understand standard DVBS subtitles. Roman, do you still consider making this subtitle format possible with tsMuxer ? I think a lot of people would appreciate this. I can give you a sample ts with dvbs in it.

Thanks again. Seb

Obviously! Only what exactly, I don't know. Since this method works brilliantly for me under XP, my guess is the trouble is with Vista. But it's only a guess...

I really thank you roman for this perfect tool. Everything is ok now like several auido and several subtitle for the movie. it was just a dream to watch episodes of lost with srt subtitle last month , but it's true now.

The next dream is to store all HD movies in a AVCHD directory of a harddisk with a menu and add or remove movies to this structure.

For example , I have an external 750 gb hd and about 20 hd movies. It would be super if I could put all movies in this structure with a menu. And add new ones when I have or remove some of then when I dont need . So I could watch all movies when I plugged hd to PS3

Will it be only a dream ? Or can be true in close future ?

I hope you may forgive my poor english :-)

Same here, I've mentioned this before only I've tried to demux LPCM WAV from Ratatuile, it's always happening on the same place at the end, but because movie is splited into hundred pieces I can always pick the last one and try, it's always the same. Think it's a bug in the movie which is crashing demuxing.

The funny thing is that I can easily join a BluRay (Enemy of the State) that already has LPCM with tsMuxeR but when I make my own PCM/WAV's it doesn't let me join the files or when I do it as one big >4GB WAV the movie starts out fine but then I get garbled noise/screaching. I am completely baffled.

Thatīs easy to tell itīs already "a wonder" you can use more than 2GB sized WAV-Files. The 4GB wall is already a tricked version of original WAV. This is because of file-format-restrictions.
Good old billyboy didnīt think that file-format would become that famous.

On the other hand....4GB of WAV is a LOT!
I guess....itīs a full movie in WAV right?

Hi guys, can someone tell me if this behavior is normal?

If I don't check "Continually insert SPS/PPS" checkbox I only get 1.5x fast forward speed. If I enable it I get all speeds.

According to other posts I've read in x264 threads SPS isn't needed for decoding it only is there so that Scenarist and Co will play nice with the stream, and pengdavo even said that he won't add that option to x264 on account of it being "stupid" (or did he call it retarded? I can't remember, it's one of those). Since I don't use those tools, I really shouldn't need to use that option.

Tested on tsMuxeR 1.7.6 and 1.8.4, both exhibit identical behavior. It doesn't make a file size difference (that I can notice), so I don't mind leaving in on, the purist in me wonders however if this is an indication of some error in the code?

Flac was already discussed a while back in the thread. Basically it can't be done, there is no way to insert flac into ts or m2ts without breaking spec.

As for the error, I'm sure Roman will be able to help if you tell him what the error is :)

I don't really care about FLAC now and about TS or M2TS,
possibility would be really interesting and I believe MKV would handle it (would try it late).

The error is:

"AV frame too large (49051 bytes). Increase AV buffer."

It's always the same, and always at the same place (3 minites before the end of "Rat movie").

Thanks.

tsMuxeR doesn't recognise a "regular" DTS 1536 file which I created using Surecode ("Can't detect stream type").
The file on its own plays well in MPC, correct length is displayed, too.

When I mux the DTS (together with VC-1 video and other soundtracks) to MKV, which works just fine, and let tsMuxeR have a go at this MKV, I get the following error message, almost immediately after starting the remux process:

"Reading buffer overflow. Possible container streams are not syncronized. Please, verify stream fps. "

MUXOPT --no-pcr-on-video-pid --new-audio-pes --blu-ray --vbr --auto-chapters=5 --vbv-len=500

A_DTS, "O:\mini.mkv", track=2, lang=eng
A_AC3, "O:\mini.mkv", track=3, lang=eng
A_AC3, "O:\mini.mkv", track=4, lang=eng

When I mux the DTS alone to MKA, which also works fine, tsMuxeR complains about an unsupported container format (although MKA is clearly listed as an OK input format in the add file dialogue).

Here is a 10MB sample of the DTS file:

It seems the file does not conform to a specific DTS spec.
If you run the file through PowerDVD is does not display the DTS spec file info but does play OK.
If you run the file through MediaInfo it shows it as a DTS-HD format and not a DTS file.
I guess this is why TsMuxeR Can't detect stream type

It seems the file does not conform to a specific DTS spec.
That's surprising, seeing as Surcode is used and loved by so many people.
And there are really not a lot of options one could set wrongly in Surcode:

Something strange about that file.... I just realised that although PowerDVD does play the file i.e. the time counter runs OK there is NO sound output!

As I mentioned before MediaInfo shows it to be a DTS-HD format and not a DTS format at 1.5Mbps.

I also converted the file to AC3 640kbps with “eac3to” and now the sound on the track can be heard fine and so I guess the file is not damaged, just in a non standard DTS format.

What about if you try to down the data rate from 1.5Mbps to the 768kbps options?

Export Sup > OCR All > SRT > Save as SRT (in SUPRead)
After i remuxed to BD.
I tried reading this file with PDVD7, PDVD8 and TMT; no subtitles.
And gave it a go with GraphEdit using DirectVobSub (of course no expectation of HA) and here it is; no sup (BTW, i couldn't use sub as standalone):

DirectVobSub can't process this way, 'cause it doesn't support PGS subs in TS or M2TS format.
Also Roman can't figures out why subs didn't show on PDVD.
I personally converted two HD-DVD to Blu-Ray, converting subs to Blu-Ray with SUPread, demuxed with EVOdemux. Subs from "The Big Lebowski" is showing on PS3, subs from "300" don't.
My first thought was that the problem is with TsMuxer, now I'm not so sure.

Thanks for your replies.
Personally, I think if the DTS file is good enough for both mkvmerge and Haali's mkv muxer, is good enough for AC3Filter to decode or, alternatively, pass through via SPDIF and is good enough for my amplifier to decode it, it should be good enough for tsMuxeR as well.

Actually, I was starting out with a TrueHD track (one that doesn't have an ac3 core), using eac3to, so I don't think BeSweet would help. I'll try AC3 640 next time - unless roman makes tsMuxeR less picky with respect to DTS ;)

Maybe that’s the problem i.e. why the DTS track was showing as DTS-HD as you converted it from TrueHD with no AC3 core to DTS and ended up with DTS-HD file header and but an actual DTS file.....?

@Discoboy:

Well, as you may know, eac3to expands TrueHD 5.1 to 6x WAV before it calls Surcode to encode DTS. So I don't see how any headers could have carried over...

Hey Momber! :)

C:\Desktop>eac3to mini.dts.001 mini.dts
DTS, 5.1 channels, 0:00:55, 24 bits, 1536kbit/s, 48khz
Removing DTS zero padding...
Creating file "mini.dts"...
The last DTS frame is incomplete and thus gets skipped.
eac3to processing took 1 second.
Done.
Normally eac3to "convinces" Surcode to not add zero padding into the DTS stream. But some older Surcode versions don't obey, I've been told...

P.S: eac3to can only convince Surcode to not add zero padding if you automate DTS encoding through eac3to. If you start Surcode manually, it always adds zero padding to the DTS track. You need to run the final DTS file another time through eac3to to remove the zero padding. Many tools don't like zero padding.

Use split function and remux to m2ts. Import first m2ts and remux to blu-ray. Then second m2ts and so on.

I suppose i found how to fix it:

Hey Momber! :)

Hi madshi!

Got any sleep lately? I doubt it ;)

My version is probably not the latest. I can't find any updates/patches on the Minnetonka site though :(

C:\Programme\eac3to>eac3to -test

Nero Audio Decoder (Nero 7 or older) works fine
Sonic Audio Decoder (4.2.0.102) works fine
Haali Media Splitter (2008-3-29) is installed
Surcode DTS Encoder (1.0.21.0) is installed
MkvToolnix (v2.2.0) is installed

You need to run the final DTS file another time through eac3to to remove the zero padding. Many tools don't like zero padding.

OK, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for your reply!
Keep up the great work on eac3to - it is appreciated!

Ciao

I have a Question:
I have a Video (23.976 fps) and a Audiofile with a delay of 2503 ms.
When change fps in TSMuxer to 25 fps, I must change the delay to 2400 ms, because now the playback of the movie is 1,04x faster ?????

The fps of your video and audio files must match before you can even begin syncing.

Yes of course.
The Orginalvideo was 23.976 fps. The Orginalaudio has a Delay of 2503 ms.

I speedup the Audio to 25 fps with eac3to.

Now, Audio and Video is of course a little faster. So , I thing the new Delay must be 2400 ms. Is this right and I must incrase the delay of the speedup-Faktor (because the 2503 ms was for 23.976 fps) ???
Or TSMuxer is recalculating this intern, when checked "change fps" ?

I don't think TsMuxer changes specified delays and I don't think TsMuxer must do this. :)
It's on our shoulders.
And yes, delay must be 2400 (2503*24000/1001/25)

I recently discovered a strange bug in TsMuxer while compiling a BDMV with SRT subtitles. If the first subtitle starts at zero time exactly, subtitles won't show at all in the movie and the timings get completely screwed up. On a BD player the title was listed as having 100+ chapters while only 8 or so should be present...

Also, has anyone been successful in viewing subtitles from a HD-DVD converted SUP file with SUPRead? With the previous TsMuxer version they displayed fine on the standalone player (but not displayed on the PC with PowerDVD even though they were listed as present and active). What would be the recommended settings in SUPRead to convert HD-DVD SUP files to BD ?

I just did "Terminator 3" conversion and got working subtitles on PS3 (but not working in PDVD) with this SUPread settings:
Frame Rate=29.97, Type=Non-drop
Video was VC-1 and I didn't remove pulldown in TsMuxer. Actually, when I check "remove pulldown" on in TsMuxer on VC-1 video, playback is stuttering on PS3, although is fine on PC.

Now Iīve Got A Problem....
I reencoded a Blu-Ray 1080p to 720p to make it "fit" to a DVD-R DL with both Audio-Streams (Core only) and 3 subtext files.

What I didnīt think of....those subtext files have a resolution?!
Is there a way/workaround to make those work with my reencoded movie?
