Wow! Fixing the huge pause at .m2ts transition points will be great, can't wait for the new version. Thanks jdobbs and of course Deepstar for discovering the bug!

Hmm, just used fixclpi on a project (used it on both the clpi-dir and the \backup\clpi-dir) and it caused the disc not to play.
My player loads and reads the disc, and then starts (display says "PLAY"), and after 1 second it stops like it's finished (displays says "STOP"). No way to run the disc another way through menu, direct chapter selection or so, it just starts and immediately stops again. Have no clue what the problem could be.
Discs run fine when i dont use fixclpi.

Of course there's always the chance that there is a bug... but my opinion: Either something else is wrong or the player has an issue. I'd look elsewhere. If you saw how little the change really affects you'd know why I have doubts. In fact -- the corrected table likely isn't even referenced until you do a FF/REW or Chapter jump action. It's more likely a media issue.
On my Sony Player I've done over a hundred BD backups now in testing BD Rebuilder with the table corrected in all of them... no issues.

jdobbs, I posted this in the other "AVCHD-ME & tsMuxeR" thread. This is also for those not following it.
I applied the proper file sizes using a hex editor to the CLPI files (I left the BACKUP CLPIs untouched) and there was no pause between the m2ts branches). FF/RW seem to work fine too, however I was not to concerned with that.
Hopefully this help if you decide to update "fixclpi".

I have the exact same behaviour with my Panasonic BD35... I still suspect the player though because i have some other problems with it : Playing BD5 / AVCHD authored by Adobe Encore CS4... playing BD5 with the "force subtitle on" command...
EDIT : Just updated to the latest firmware but no improvement...

Uncorrected BD's play fine, no problems with fforward / reverse and/or chapter jumps. Corrected discs don't play at all. I used the same madia (DVD-RW) to burn the uncorrected version, and it played fine.
It might work after the fix for the file-size is added ? But for now i wont be using fixclpi.
PS: Note also that all my uncorrected discs also play fine on my friends EU PS3.
Would fixing only the one CLPI dir, leaving the BACKUP make a difference?
Yes it would, cause the player would find the first clpi not-functional, and try to work from the uncorrected backup. The result would be the same as not correcting te clpi in the first place (since the player works from the uncorrected backup).

When fixclpi first came out, I had this problem on my Panasonic BD30. If I used fixclpi on only the CLIPINF folder, it works. If I use fixclpi on the backup folder CLIPINF folder also, the disc will not play.

It seems as though it might be the player, and not necessarily the way the clpi's are fixed. It could also have to do with the way the DVD5s and 9s are encoded. I know the PS3 can handle almost anything thrown at it (BD encodes) as opposed to other standalones where it has some issues with how the max bitrate and buffer sizes are set... lowering these values to ~15mb/s as opposed to 30mb/s has helped. Maybe that along with a properly fixed clpi would do the trick.

I my case thats not the problem (see my post history for reference on all the many posts i made concerning encoding). The proof lies in the fact that an uncorrected disc plays fine, fforward/reverse chapter jumping etc. all work fine !

Well... so far, I did what jdobbs did... fixclpi CLIPINF dir and then copied the patched *.clpi over to BACKUP dir... I don't believe that fixclpi handles *.clpi in CLIPINF differently than *.clpi in BACKUP (hence jdobbs doing the copy thing), correct me if I'm wrong jdobbs...
Never tried with unpatched *.clpi in BACKUP because in my opinion it wouldn't have made much sense... (what is the real purpose of the BACKUP dir anyway ???)
I'll give it a try though and let you guys know about it.

Here are the results of a few more tests regarding fixclpi on my BD35 :
- tsmuxer only : plays fine, chapter seeking is fine, fast forward / rewind is fine
- tsmuxer on CLIPINF then copy patched file over to BACKUP/CLIPINF : doesn't play at all
- tsmuxer on CLIPINF (BACKUP/CLIPINF untouched) : plays fine, chapter seeking is fine, but fast forward / rewind is not working anymore (pressing the button doesn't have any effect at all)...
What is the purpose of the BACKUP dir ?
And what is the logic of the BD player when a disc is inserted ? (what files are read, what sequence, what checks, ...)
In addition, the fact that fast forward / rewind doesn't work anymore after applying fixclpi might indicate a bug in fixclpi. Just an assumption though...

Simply ticking the framerate option in tsMuxeR "ON" (without actually changing it, cause it is usually the correct rate) works fine in solving the fforward/reverse problem. No fixclpi needed.

Yeah I forgot that...
I wouldn't be surprised if some of the things we can't explain yet end up being specific to the BD30/BD35 (or their current firmware)...
The thing is that most of the testers here report for their PS3 (probably a bit careless about compliancy) and the BD30/35 (apparently a bit "fancy" about compliancy).

A bit of information for testing purposes.
AVCHD-ME used on a full BD rip (muxed by tsMuxeR), applied the correct file sizes using a hex editor split to 6 4gb chunks. Subs were also enabled automatically using MadMonkey's instructions (BDEdit).
Video=h264
Audio=DTS HD-MA
Subs = Sup
-Applied proper file sizes to all 6 CLPIs (left the BACKUP untouched).
-Did not apply fixclpi.exe
-Playback was on my PS3 using a 320GB external drive with a 50GB FAT32 partition. AVCHD dir was on the FAT32 partition obviously.
Results.
-No pauses between any of the seamless branches.
-FF/RW worked, however took a few seconds to start seeking and resume playing, tested up to 30x.
-Subs played automatically.
Hope this helps.

Well, chapter seeking, F-FORW/REW all work fine on BD35 with both fps and level checkboxes left unchecked on tsmuxer...
To sum it up with the BD35 :
- it plays tsmuxer's output rather well
- if I patch the output with the "Force subtitle ON" command, the BD5 can't play at all
- if I apply fixclpi on CLIPINF and copy patched file over to BACKUP/CLIPINF, the BD5 can't play at all
- if I apply fixclpi on CLIPINF and leave BACKUP/CLIPINF untouched, I loose F-FOR/REW functionalities
This is nonsense...

No fixclpi needed.Maybe in your case -- but not in mine. The FF/REW screws up big time no matter whether I set the framerate option on or off. The most annoying is when you are rewinding and when you reach a point at which one of the COARSE entries was wrong it suddenly starts fast forwarding -- making it impossible to rewind beyond that point. This was the hint that led me to looking at the tables and finding the problem.

I'm seeing the packet count consistently wrong. Interestingly, this may be the source of a problem I've been chasing in BD Rebuilder related to the move between M2TS files (for angles).
I'll update FIXCLPI to correct that error as well and post it again. You should see it tomorrow. Anything else I should add? Does it need to correct more than one CLPI? I think I'll make it so that if you point to a directory it will find the BDMV, CLIPINF, and STREAM folders and correct all the CLPI files in .
We're still waiting for your update! One clpi file correction will be OK, we can use simple .bat file instead:
fixallcl.bat:
rem BACK UP
for %%i in (BDMV\CLIPINF\*.clpi) do copy /y %%i %%i.bak
rem FIX ALL
for %%i in (BDMV\CLIPINF\*.clpi) do fixclpi %%i
rem COPY
cd BDMV
for %%i in (CLIPINF\*.clpi) do copy /y %%i BACKUP\%%i
cd ..

jdobbs may well still come along with another fix for this but in the mean-time, I have released a new version of AVCHDME which will make the necessary hex corrections for you. This incorporates the renaming features of the old AVCHDMe with the new clpi fixes. Jdobbs' fixclpi is also automatically applied to each .clpi file.
AVCHDMe only corrects the main CLPI folder, it does not touch the BACKUP folder. It will work on freshly created AVCHD folders or on ones that have already had the old AVCHDMe run on them.
Unlike the previous version, you do not have to place this in the root of your AVCHD folder, it can be run from anywhere, you just have to point it at your BDMV folder. Download here (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nqgozywoir1). Enjoy.

I have tried looking for the reason why I am unable to get subtitles visible on my PS3 here but cannot find an answer.
When I use tsmuxer on an MKV file and mux it to m2ts I can see the subtitles file next to the video and voice stream
but when I stream it to my PS3 it always tells me that there are no subtitles available.(TwonkyMedia)
When I input the m2ts file in tsmuxer again I see the subtitles: codec PGS, lang: ENG, track info: Presentation Graphic stream#0
What's wrong ? I use version 1.8.8 because I thought maybe 1.8.4 was not good....
Anyone?

You can't use subs when streaming to a PS3, the only way to gets subs working is to choose "BluRay Disc" as your output format in TSMuxer, making sure you select the option to split files every 4GB. Rename the files to 8.3 standard using AVCHD-Me or similar then fix the clpi files with AVCHD-Me2 or similar. Now copy your BDMV and CERTIFICATE folders into a directory called AVCHD on a USB storage device. Plug the USB device into your PS3 and play. Using this method, you also get the benefit of being able to keep HD audio which also isn't supported when streaming.
If you need more help, there's a massive thread dedicated to this method here (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=138079).

Ah, well you learn something new every day.
I've made another new version of AVCHDMe, it now incorporates the features of both versions. Once you have browsed to your BDMV folder, you will be shown a table which contains the filesize of each .m2ts file as reported in the .clpi file, the actual filesize, whether or not filenames are in the 8.3 format and if the folder is currently PS3 compatible.
Depending on what needs fixing, neither, one or both of the checkboxes will be checked to fix whatever is wrong. Once the fixes are applied, the BDMV folder is scanned again and the table updated. You can download the new version here (http://www.mediafire.com/download.php?nqgozywoir1).

We're still waiting for your update!I'm trying to see if I can find anything unusual about the fix that causes problems in the BD30 and BD35. But I've gone through about 20 examples and I can' see an issue. I'd feel a lot better if I actually did find something -- but I'm still leaning toward a firmware issue.
Odd, though, that is works before the patch... especially since the table really shouldn't have that kind of affect.

the only way to gets subs working is to choose "BluRay Disc" as your output format in TSMuxer, making sure you select the option to split files every 4GB.
It is not that simple, unfortunately. The above only works if your video is exactly 1920x1080 or 1280x720, otherwise, you will get a green bar under the video. So if your video is not of the correct resolution, you will need to re-encode them to specs (it will take a long time depending on your PC), then use tsMuxeR to remux them in to Blu-Ray or AVCHD format.

Sorry, I've caused confusion by using an English turn of phrase there. When I said "you learn something new every day", I was in fact referring to myself so I meant "I have learnt something new today".

Is it possible to make your AVCHD_Me app able to accept drag and drop from explorer (or any file manager) the BDMV folder. Navigating to that folder is a pain, don't you find that too? Even making it able to accept a paste from the clipboard doesn't work as of now. That would be just as good!
idbirch2

If I get some spare time to do more work on it, I'll look at implementing your suggestions. AVCHD creation is already a major ballache though, the selection of the BDMV folder in AVCHDMe seems trivial. At the moment, what I make an AVCHD I have to:
1) Run TSMuxer, splitting every 4GB
2) Run jdobbs' fixclpi.exe on each .clpi file
3) Run AVCHDMe to correct filenames and do other .clpi fix
4) (If necessary) use BDEdit to enable a subtitle stream by default
5) Create image in ImgBurn and burn
Plus, I'm hoping that with the new version of TSMuxer, all this becomes irrelevant.

You can put higher value for Border.
Additional border, pixels: 4
I use 4 pixels and subtitles are pretty nice.
Use: Arial (Bold)
Size: 60 (for 720p) or 80 (for 1080p)
Bottom offset: 55 (for 720p) or 82 (for 1080p)

Its good to expiriment with subs;
I try to put them outside of the video-frame whenever 2.40:1 material is available. To still be readable, i use a font that's larger by default. It also might be different for different screensizes, or viewing distance.
Font: Verdana
Size 1080p => 65/66px, 2/3px border (total=68px), bottom offset=24px
Size 720p => 42/43px, 2/3px border (total=45px), bottom offset=16px.
All my material is viewed on a Panasonic 42pz85 @ full HD (scaled to 1080p by Onkyo TX SR875 if needed) from a distance of 10 ~ 12 feet or so.
