I received an error code 3 with the error below in the bottom output box. The box with the processing details didn't say anything abnormal. Has anyone seen this, or is there a way I can find out more info? It's dealing with a ripped blu-ray m2ts that I'm stripping everything out of. I'm using v1.8.8b.

This great tool finally let me fix the bbcHD streams I've recorded recently that I couldn't get the AC3 out of with TSplayer, wich still works fine on older caps. BBC must've changed something, cause I hadn't.
My question is what does Use async I/O mean?
deank
26th December 2008, 09:40
It is a parameter, that doesn't affect the final results, but the way files are handled (read/written) by tsMuxer. Faster performance is usually achieved with async i/o checked.

I too received this message recently on 2 discs. I tried to narrow it down between video file, audio files and PGS. I ran all three instances individually. It only happens on the video file with the audio. Individually each worked fine.
Any ideas, as for the Blu-ray discs they were I don't remember, but next time it happens I will note which one it was.

Thanks for the info, my guess is that we're out of luck since the error is so generic. The disc I was working with was the movie Troy for anyone able to troubleshoot this more.

Can tsmuxer be used entirely from the command line to avoid editing a .meta file for each video?

Can tsmuxer be used entirely from the command line to avoid editing a .meta file for each video?Yes. If you know the syntax for the .META you don't need to run the GUI... but then in most circumstances you also need to know how to read an MPLS and CLPI. The command line and META syntax are in a sticky in this thread.

I have tried looking for the reason why I am unable to get subtitles visible on my PS3 here but cannot find an answer.
When I use tsmuxer on an MKV file and mux it to m2ts I can see the subtitles file next to the video and voice stream
but when I stream it to my PS3 it always tells me that there are no subtitles available.(TwonkyMedia)
When I input the m2ts file in tsmuxer again I see the subtitles: codec PGS, lang: ENG, track info: Presentation Graphic stream#0
What's wrong ? I use version 1.8.8 because I thought maybe 1.8.4 was not good....
Anyone?
For streaming + subtitles, you may also want to have a look here:

I've been over this extensively:

and I'm happily using the command line + META file procedure, but I'm wondering if there is a way to specify all necessary information right on the command line and not use a META file at all.

When using the tsmuxer option "Restricted VBR" if I put in the values Max=20000 - Min=0 I sometimes get the following errors.
VBV buffer overflow at position x.xxx
1) Does this effect the movie in anyway?
2) Does it drop the actual Frame?
3) And is this like an encoding/shrinking method for a movie?
4) would VC1 or AVC video make any difference?
I have 1 movie Shooter that without compression the Video bitrate is around 22.8mb which gives it a slight stutter... I have other movies The Bourne collection which come in under 19mb bitrate and it seems to play nicely so I'm trying to stay under 20mb for a bitrate. The movies are from original hd-dvd I'm just remuxing them into .ts or m2ts format so my dvico 6500 player can play them over a 1g network...
Thanking you in advance

Hi, I'm stripping down a BR with a True-HD track in it, unfortuantely with TSmuxeR I have no sound at all, and with TSremux I have a lot of "snap crackle 'n pop", how can I include the THD track in the BR ?
thanks, Nik

TSMuxer's TrueHD muxing is broken for now so that won't work but TSRemux should be able to handle it fine. You are definitely running the latest version? And what are you playing the resulting BD on when you hear the crackling? Standalone? Software player? Maybe the problem is the player, not TSRemux?

thanks for reply,
yes, tsremux is the latest 0212, at first I tried to play the BR from a local folder with TMT, then I tried to extract, from the original disc, not from the extracted folder, the THD track with eac3to saving it as .thd file and then playing it through MPC-HC, but even there it crackles a lot, so maybe this prooves that the problem is elsewhere ... :(

As far as I can tell the VBR settings can be used to kind of smooth out bitrate to try to keep it under a certain limit, but there's only so much it can do, the maximum buffer is like 1 second so you're going to overrun it all the time and your movie will mess up. In other words the VBR setting is a pretty ineffective way to reduce bitrate. For that you'd need to recode using RipBot or something. It'll take a long time and you'll lose a bit of quality.
A better idea would be to figure out why your 6500 won't play more than 22mbps without stuttering -- my PCH does like 40mbps fine and it's the same chipset (though different software). So you may have a network problem or need a firmware update or something.

Maybe your TrueHD track is damaged or something. Try running a TrueHD to DTS conversion in eac3to as that's quite sensititve to damaged tracks and will tell you if it is.

Hi peterjcat,
OK the stuttering maybe be because I'm going through the network... I'll copy it over to the HDD and see how that goes... I'll see what the VBR does and find out if that help if not I'll try ripbot264. Many thanks for your reply.

maybe someone can help me fix AC3 file?

idbirch2
4th January 2009, 01:30
I usually find that when TSMuxer doesn't accept an ac3 track, it's because there's still a split second at the start of the track that's only 2.0ch and then it flicks to 5.1. TSMuxer can't handle this so simply use DelayCut or other AC3 cutting tool to chop off any 2.0ch frames from the start of the file.

Correct, chop 192ms from the start. I don't know if there is a better way to do it but in order to workout the endpoint, I currently take the total duration of the clip as displayed in DelayCut and convert it to seconds, multiply by 1000 and add any remaining 1000ths, this gives you your end cut point (i.e. don't cut anything from the end). So in your case, 40x60+31x1000+72=2431072.
Dont forget to enter a delay of 192ms in TSMuxer when you remux it.

Not sure what you mean precisely by not remuxing when LPCM is the only audio track; but I've used Pcm2Tsmu several times already (first using eac3to to convert TrueHD/DTS-MA to LPCM, and then to an input format tsMuxeR can use), and tsMuxeR always properly muxes the new LPCM track along with the video.

I have to insist that PCM works fine with TSMuxer, whether it is the only audio track or not. You are using the latest version I assume (1.8.8)? You need to explain a bit more about where your actual problem lies, you haven't made it clear whether TSMuxer fails to actually produce an output or whether your output doesn't have any audio when you play it. If you're playing it, what are you playing it on? Come on, throw us a bone.

OK... just to give you an update... sorry for the fuss but its not a TSMuxer issue its a PowerDVD issue. Seems PowerDVD even though it can play m2ts it will only play AC3 when played as a file.. it will not play the HD audio for some reason when just played as a file, even though its the ONLY audio track.
I remuxed with the same settings to a bluray structure using TSMuxer then created an ISO out of it.. mounted the ISO and played with PowerDVD. LPCM came up and the file played fine...
PowerDVD does not play folder structure for bluray..
PowerDVD will not play the HD audio tracks when playing as a file
Im stuck with as an ISO OR using a different player.. What players do you guys use?

I'm with Rica on this: use Arcsoft Totalmedia Theatre instead.
Arcsoft TMT does play folder structure for bluray..
Arcsoft TMT will play the HD audio tracks when playing as a file.
Besides, you'll want the Arcsoft DTS Decoder (that comes with Arcsoft TMT) for your HD audio conversion anyway.

I tried TMT and it stutters crazy on my machine with .128 and I have no issues with PWRDVD.. My impression is that PWRDVD video quality is much better.. I had a few people watch the same scene using both players.. and PWRDVD won out...
Im OK with using the ISO structure until Arcsoft gets their act together..
Also whats your experience remuxing with TrueHD.. whats the best option?

Hi jdobbs,
thanks for the little fixclpi application but it looks not working perfectly on non-ENU OS. I have to choose English for "Language for non-unicode applications" setting in region and language settings. Otherwise fixclpi will report "overflow" error. The problem is, many of my non-unicode applications can not work with "English". Is that possible to fix that or change the app to unicode?

just a quick quesation regarding to elementary VC1 Stream. I demuxed the VCI Video File from a Bluray with the help of EAC3TO (Whole Folder). Do I have to prepare the VC1 Video File in any way or is there any other Solution.

Yes, too many reference frames. This value should be 4 or lower for 1080p encodes to be compatible with the PS3. Plus, recoding this video will make for a better compatible file for the PS3/standalone (not neccesarily better quality) provided you use a good profile. Might as well add the 280 lines in for the widescreen bars too, this will make a AVCHD/BD compliant video stream.

hmm, but how do i know how much to cut off?
I use DelayCut in these cases. If you just process the file once without any cut it will tell you there's a change at some timestamp, you cut at that point (it will be a negative cut). I then take that cut file, and uncut (positive) the same amount. The twice cut file will still sync with the video as well as the original.

What are the visual symptoms of this FF/RW bug.I did both a Blu Ray and a HD DVD to Blu Ray conversion. I corrected the bug with the Fixclpi thing. On playback in a Samsung BDP 1500 it is fine but soon as I RW or FF, the picture splits into two horizontally until I go back to 1x playback.
