Hi, i have been using megui for a while, and worked fine, till the other day that aparently for no reason it stopped working. As soon as i execute megui the send error report message appears. I didnt install anything new... I tried to reinstall it, unistall it, restart, reinstalling the net framework and nothing, megui wont start... I have windows xp sp3 and if you need further information, ill give it to you... Any ideas why is it doing it? Thx in advance.

Question for everyone here. Is there a way to include and show only forced subtitles using MeGUI? I presume that if I actually include the subtitles in the final stage (muxing) then the forced items will be automatically shown anyway correct?
If not, anyone know how this can be done?

Damned you're an ati fanboy !!!! AAArrrrgggg !!
Can i do or send you something (debug traces, or others to help you debug this) ?
Here is the log in windows log file :
Application défaillante MeGUI.exe, version 0.3.0.2017, horodatage 0x48d8f4c3, module défaillant DGAVCDecodeNV.dll_unloaded, version 0.0.0.0, horodatage 0x48e0d278, code d’exception 0xc0000005, décalage d’erreur 0x062844ba, ID du processus 0x304, heure de début de l’application 0x01c923ed41eb1105.
I think you do not need a translation ...

@RyaNJ: in which step do you want to have them ? give us more details...
@ultratoto14: does it work with DGAVCDecode.dll ?

If I knew what step I'd probably be able to figure the rest out myself :) Say I've got a subtitle file, I want this to be included in the final file (mvk container with H.264 as the actual video format). Do I need to do anything special so that the "forced" subtitles are shown automatically or is that handled by default?
Kurtnoise

you can mux your vobsub file (containing the forced) with the video into the mkv muxer...that should be fine. No need extra step here.

Yes, this works with DGAVCIndex, what are the checks done between the enqueue button push and the real add in the job queue ? Is there some plugins added in the avs script or others ?

@all : please, test me (http://www.mediafire.com/?eldyzthmimm)...and report back.
@Caroliano & Nightshiver : this build doesn't fix your troubles yet but you can try...
Problem is going on for me.

Will the next update fix my problem? I'm doing another encode now, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Sorry, my mistake, this is DGAVCDecode.dll that i tested. It worked with it. When i add it to the queue, meGui tells me that the avs is not mod16, this is why i think there is checks. (1920x1080)

Problem is going on for me.
I've just downloaded 0.3.0.215 again from SourceForge.net.
Opened UAC. (I still have admin rights.)
Everything went fine this time: thanks guys.

hi guys.
i was running MeGUI just like i normally do and i kept getting this acisynth error: "script error: there is no function named dgdecode_mpeg2source"
i googled it and i found this thread:
http://forum.doom9.org/archive/index.php/t-118803.html
problem is that i'm running a 32bitOS. i checked my reg entry in regedit and it turns out that my plugins directory was set to "F:avisynth/plugins" i changed it to C:/ but it didn't fix it, so what should i do?
ah i fixed my problem; after carefully rereading the thread, i saw the user said that he couldn't change the directory where dgdecode.dll was located. i gave it a shot and it worked.

mmmh, what can I say...while I don't have a NV card, I can't debug this. You know does it mean ? ;)

I might have found the culprit. It seems that mencoder itself is broken. I found this thread to be helpful: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=124374
Although I haven't tried my script out yet using an earlier version of mencoder.

@Kurtnoise13 Does MeGUI automatically re run the eac3to command if there are gaps/overlaps detected?
Kurtnoise
2nd October 2008, 13:09
isn't already automatic ?

some crashes i experienced in a recent megui and x264 build, these were when i had opened a .avs file in avs script creator as i was wanting to determine how much to crop top and bottom on a bluray movie. I was scrolling through the video and experienced this crash message, the application worked fine though, kept functioning:
http://i37.tinypic.com/5zqob8.jpg
same with the below screenshot:
http://i36.tinypic.com/10ruviv.jpg
The bluray movie had VC-1 video and truehd audio, i used graphstudio, avsp, megui, x264, haali, ffdshow. The source was a single .m2ts file.

I don't think so.

well...it's not my plan to run eac3to twice to apply gaps/delays. I'll add these values in the filename probably. The goal here is to extract only streams like DGindex.
btw, more than 30 commits today in the trunk. *sigh*

The catch is that the extracted streams won't be particularly useful if the gaps aren't corrected. It's not delays, it's places in the audio tracks which don't match up with the video after joining multiple .m2ts files. So streams might be extracted but in order to use them the command will need to be run again. At least the audio part of the command. I think Atak_Snajpera made a request for madshi to make a switch that will automatically re run the command in the case of gaps/overlaps being detected.
I'm planning to automate the gap removal for audio in a future build.

and could you post a command line to fix a such gap...

@kurtnoise: wow. thanks.
Yes, that's the point. I think the problem is with the new mencoder, or do you have any better ideas as to why MeGUI consistently crashes?
Sharktooth
2nd October 2008, 20:47
indeed, the problem is mencoder but it's not the problem found on that thread you linked.
the problem is also there are no newer mencoder builds from sherpya.
Nightshiver
2nd October 2008, 21:34
So am I doomed for weeks/months until some other person decides to fix it? I linked the thread because it suggested the idea of using a different version of mencoder, hence I am using a different version (older) and not the newest one. I know there are updates to mencoder for a reason, but I'm still holding out hope that one of the old versions might let me do a simple rendering pass.

Hi guys who have issues:
just tweak registry to get admin rights.
Everything works anymore; do not worry.

Sharktooth,
I have noticed that MeGUI does not play well with DVDRB authored discs. The problem that occurs is that the audio is sometimes way off. I realize that this is probably because DVDRB is cutting scenes from the original. My question is: Is there another way, with MeGUI, that I can resynch the audio and video without having to guess at the correct delay? I am not an expert at this and please excuse me if this has already been asked but I noticed that other people have had audio delay problems and I thought perhaps it may be related to what I am experiencing.
Thank you,
TheDreamer

use DVDFab HD Decrypter (it's free) and everything should be ok.
@Nightshiver: ill see if i can find a recent mencoder build that works.

I do have some disks like this but it might be easier to just look at this (http://forum.doom9.org/showpost.php?p=1164890&postcount=5635).
To fix the gaps/overlaps all you need to do is just run the command line again and eac3to will use the gaps file it created the first time around. Really all you need to do is run the commands for the audio but it's probably easier to just have it do the whole thing over again. The loss of time dealing with the video and subtitles, etc. is marginal.

Hello,
the presets for x264 configuration in MeGUI 0.3.0.3001 are not saving macroblock options. I haven't tested other versions.

Was meGUI allready changed/adapted for the new x264 API changes ? I'll update if that's the case.
EDIT: Seems it was (thx XhmikosR) , but in light of the post above, i'll hold off a bit ("If it aint broken ..." etc.)

Will x264 revision 998 and above ever work properly with older versions of MeGUI? atm it stops time remaining / fps rate etc etc showing?
I have to use version 0.2.6.1046 of MeGUI because v3 and above wont work with some avi sources properly.

How do you mean "won't work" ?
Cause MeGUI usesAvisynth to open files, so it should at least be able to open the AVI.
EDIT: I see, it's an audio-problem.
Can't you just demux the audio with another tool, and treat the audio separately for the time being ?

Since upgrading to MeGUI v3 (Currently running 0.3.0.2018) some of my avi source files the audio on them hasn't been decoding properly, no matter what audio codec I encode into nero aac, mp3, ac3 etc etc.
So when encoding from an AVI source i have to use megui v2
The audio length is over or under estimated either making the files run longer than the video or cutting the audio off before the video has ended on some avi's.
The file that ARENT effected are all in:
Audio #0
Codec : MPEG-1 Audio layer 3
Codec profile : Joint stereo
PlayTime : 43mn 57s
Bit rate mode : VBR
Bit rate : 129 Kbps
Nominal bit rate : 128 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
Resolution : 16 bits
StreamSize/String : 40.5 MiB
Writing library : LAME3.90.
Encoding settings : ABR
But the files that ARE effected are all in:
Audio #0
Codec : MPEG-1/2 L3
Codec/Family : MPEG-1
Codec/Info : MPEG-1 or 2 layer 3
PlayTime : 44mn 34s
Bit rate : 80.0 Kbps
Channel(s) : 2 channels
Sampling rate : 48.0 KHz
Resolution : 16 bits
StreamSize/String : 38.4 MiB
Opening the effected avi files in vdub it says the files have a 'A non-zero wBits Per Sample Value'
Whats got me confused is that even running MeGUI 0.2.0.1046 fully up-to-date (with exception of the core) all files decode fine.
It has me most confused :s
