It is a bit try & error. I am sorry for that!
Based on your last log the >1min delay is with the avisynth script execution which is expected to be the most time consuming part as in there the index file will be created. However there is currently no reason why it should be slower.
Just to be sure: You are dropping my debug builds in your productive directory = all the same files & settings apply between the 2755 and 276x debug tests?

Zathor, I have a question about the DAR info saved to the xml files in MeGUI's jobs folder.

When MeGUI saves the xml file, the following is included whether anamorphic encoding is enabled or not (the aspect ratio obviously changes according to the source).

Which effectively means MeGUI is always operating in anamorphic mode, so if you add a script to the queue and later change the cropping/resizing, MeGUI will alter the SAR to output the aspect ratio it saved to the job xml file. That behaviour is probably exactly what you want when you're using anamorphic encoding, but not so much when you're not.

These days I have a 1:1 SAR saved to the x264 encoder configuration (I rarely use anamorphic encoding) which lets me fiddle with scripts after they've been added to the queue without MeGUI getting unnecessarily anamorphic on me, but I was wondering, does MeGUI have to save the DAR info to the job xml file if there's no aspect ratio info saved to the script?

Which job are you speaking about? In general attributes may be saved which will not be needed lateron. Do not worry about attributes as long as the desired output is achieved.

It's not though. MeGUI must use the DAR attributes all the time, even when there's no anamorphic DAR at the top of the script.
As an example, I had a script that resized the video to 1.378:1 (992x720). I added it to the job queue twice, once while setting the x264 SAR to 1:1, and the second time to "default".
I then changed the resizing in the script to 16:9 dimensions (960x540), and ran both jobs in the queue. Both times the output was 960x540, but for the second job it displayed as 1.378:1.

For both jobs the log file said:

It's not the end of the world, but it has caught me out a few times when I've changed the resizing in a script and forgotten to delete the job from the queue and add it again, and in an ideal world, for non anamorphic encoding it probably should stick the the script - no pun intended. ;)

The reason is probably that xvid_encraw uses the AviSynth script directly as input (instead of a raw video stream via pipe); that works only if AviSynth is either installed in the system, or maybe if xvid_encraw is executed in a way that it can use the portable copy instead. It's been a long time since I've ventured here, but I noticed that when doing an HD Stream Extraction, I can no longer extract the audio into a FLAC file. Is this new? I can only seem to extract the original files (DTS or True HD), and I cannot convert to MP4 using MEGui without an error occurring.

I assume it's an item on a menu bar but because it's on it's own there's nothing really distinguishing it from normal text unless you move the cursor over it. It looks just like the "Input" text below which isn't clickable.

Keeping it as it is, but making it look like a button would give it a more clickable appearance, or even an arrow pointing down next to the text to indicate it opens a list, maybe something similar to the method for selecting a frame rate in the bitrate calculator. It's obviously clickable.

I just updated to 2768 and when MeGUI restarted it crashed my computer to a blue screen of death. I was able to reboot and change the megui.exe to the BU file but when I started the program ALL my configuration settings were GONE...this is disaster. I finally got it restarted but it was the stable version,2715, not from the Development Updater site. Is there anywhere I can download the 2767 .exe file?

Thanks for replying so quickly. YES I do have that file, which I was unaware of until you pointed it out thank you. I was able to use a Windows 7 System Restore point to return my computer to the state it was in the day before I upgraded to 2768 so I'm back to 2767 and will leave it like that until Zathor returns...GOOD advice! I lost my configuration settings so it went back to default, might there be a backup for that file? If not I think I've got it back to the way it was, I tested it last night on a movie I just worked on recently and the results looked just fine.

Once again thanks for your quick response it was most helpful, I'll make a note of where those files are in case I ever need them again.

Also, you could retry, eg
Make copy of MeGUI folder,
Execute MeGUI update. If crash, restore from copy and retry one update at a time till crash.
Report what happened.

x265 seems to have improved nicely, last time I tried it I think I got about 0.2 FPS on StdDef (with similar-ish script),
with Core2Duo 2.4GHz CPU.

Today, Core2Quad 2.4GHz, x264 (CRF 21.5, SLOW preset), getting 6.75 FPS encode, CPU @ ~72%.
x265, Same settings, 1.46FPS and CPU @ 100.0% most of the time.
(Encode clip output 1280x720@25FPS, reasonably heavy processing script including MCDegrainSharp and FFT3DFilter-ing).

Think I might sometimes use x265 now :)

I notice you're using WinXP, I wonder if that might have something to do with it? I'm using Windows 7. Also...your Changelog reference to 2768 says "custom command line parameter detection", I can imagine any mistake accessing a command line might cause a Blue Screen Crash and perhaps as you are using XP and I'm using 7 that might explain the difference? Glad it's working for you...

when update success and using MeGUI to call x264.

Thanks for the feedback, I guess I'll just stick with 2767 till Zathor gets backs and has a look at things.

After the Blue Screen appeared, just after updating from 2767, I rebooted into Windows 7 and tried to start MeGUI 2768 once again at which point it went straight to the blue screen. I've got a system with XP on it, when I get the time I'll try and update it to 2768 and see what happens.

Back again...
I updated to 2768 on my XP with no Blue Screen so there may be something going on that's specific to Windows 7 in general or my computer in particular.

After seeing that you successfully upgraded to 2768 in Win 7 it encouraged me to keep working on the problem. I had a BU folder of MeGUI and tried updating it to 2768 and it worked. Out of curiosity I tried once again to update MeGUI from that original WORKING folder with the same BLUE SCREEN results. So there is something going on in that folder that is the cause of the problem...what it could be is beyond me and not that important as I've been able to update MeGUI from my BU folder.

How can it be done directly on the commandline?

For example, here's what's executed thru MeGUI:
