delete update_cache folder and retry an update...

I need some help; I incorrectly selected NDAAC-HE when I should have selected NDAAC-LC...I've looked all over the installed directory to find the audio profiles, Googled it (only found x264 profiles), but I haven't been able to find anything. Obviously it's not on the drop down on encoder settings.

Where can I find the NDAAC-LC .xml?

it's easy.
use the autoupdate function and right click on the audio prosets entry then select Force (re)install.
when the selection window appears select the desired presets and reimport them.

delete update_cache folder and retry an update...
Already there is no need. All updates while become normally after reinstallation.
And I always renamed cache folder after update.

anybody having issues with the audio encoding? I use the 0.3.0.2002 vesion and the error I get is:
--[Error] An error occurred
---[NoImage] Exception message: Abnormal encoder termination 1
---[NoImage] Stacktrace: at MeGUI.AviSynthAudioEncoder.encode()
---[NoImage] Inner exception: null
--[NoImage] Output from encoder via stderr: Mode initialisation failed: invalid parameters for quality

I'm trying to convert a .wav file to ogg, as I usually do. Previous MeGUI version was OK.

Thanks,
- Dan

Just tested a stereo wav 44.1khz to Ogg Vorbis Q=4.
Everything is O.K.

no problems here.
more details are welcome... or it will be buried in the sand.

I used the default settings for Vorbis. I basically installed MeGUI, opened a wav file and selected Vorbis. I hit Enqueue and started the process.

first update megui to the latest version then post your entire log and settings...
"i selected Vorbis"... what vorbis? what preset?
did you configure the encoder? ...
megui is not a one click solution...
did you let the auto-update get all the files/updates and import the presets?... did you :readguid: and the wiki???

I use MeGUI since day 1. I never had any issues with audio until I moved to v3. Ok, let me update again.

Sharktooth
22nd August 2008, 19:31
well... things tend to change. probably the problem is due the the updated vorbis encoder...........

Razorholt
22nd August 2008, 19:47
Ok, I have upgraded to the latest version and tested again. First I tried with the default preset Vorbis - Low (Q=1) and it was ok. Then I changed the birate from Q=1 to Q=-0.9 -> No problem.

BUT, when I set it to Q=-1.01 this is where I got the error.

Heh, it means your dimensions (710x480) aren't mod16 compatible. For mod16, your width and height must be divisible by 16. Thus:
710/16= 44.375
480/16= 30

Chose a different height.

thats the thing... I didnt resize anything I just used autocrop

should I manually resize it?

You can resize it if you want.
If you're using x264 then don't worry about it.

I'm interested in cutting a scene from a blu-ray m2ts file. I'm able to use the AVS cutter to define begin and end points of the video cut. My question is how to cut the audio? Is the cut file created during the AVC cutter not the same cut file that is required in the Audio cutter? The reason that I ask is because I get a crash of BeSplit when I try to cut the audio with the cut file.

If you're familiar with MeGUI all you need to do is select the standalone blu-ray profile.

what causes audio sync problem in converting a .dat file from a vcd ( whose extention i have changed to .avi ) to mkv with MEGUI..
i use rather still use x264HQ-slower profile and nero64 audio(in which i have reduced the bitrate to 34 and saved to profile)

@forum kingwhat causes audio sync problem in converting a .dat file from a vcd ( whose extention i have changed to .avi )...What do you accomplish by just changing the extension of a VCD .DAT file (Such a file is an MPEG-1 videostream) to ".AVI"?

How pathetic, way to patch up a bug by forcing a stupid option on everyone.
Guess you don't read too well, either.

That's an interesting way to suppress that bug for the moment. I load up fairly heavy scripts, and now that the preview is forced, I have to wait several minutes to do anything. It's kind of hard to load multiple videos like that.

You are going to get nowhere by slandering people who make free software that you want to use. Why not offer some constructive criticism or just accept that it's an open source project and the devs have to work to pay bills and live lives outside of the project? Sure there are things I'd like to change about MeGUI but I don't say anything because I'm not a programmer and I really have no useful contributions. I'm sure most of the MeGUI user base is like me in this respect. I want MeGUI to wash my car and it doesn't. Stupid MeGUI developers! Why doesn't your tool wash my F**king CAR?!?!

As it has been already said it's just a workaround until we find a way to fix the bug.
Your attitude is also not helping at all since it just kills the necessary motivation to find the reasons that make it happen...

Oh please, I can hear the violins, now.
Regardless if it's FREE, or if you pay for it, if you offer it to the public just don't go telling THEM how they should or should not use it. Greying out a tick box is just childish, and a poor excuse for fixing a bug.

I wouldn't have an "Attitude", if you allowed **ME** to choose if I wanted it on or off. Some of us aren't so anal when it comes to AR.
But, never mind, I'll just use an older version until you can be bothered to fix it.

Sorry, I forgot to mention. It was with the 2002 version. I just saw that there is a newer version. Haven't tried it with the 2003 though. I will try a reinstall if this issue still exists with the actual version.

Hmm tough one. I did a clean re-install with the 2002 build (that was the latest one I found on Sourceforge), updated to 2003 and did a small d2v indexing job in a temp worker. Still getting the message box at the end.

Alright, must be on my side then. Not a fainted idea what the problem could be tho.

Thanks guys.

There are different compiles of Vorbis encoder. Depending on this, it won't manage a quality setting between -2 and -1. The -2 setting was introduced by a non-official build (aoTuV) a while ago (2006). I believe it is now present in all exe (at least from rarewares.org (http://www.rarewares.org/ogg-oggenc.php), aoTuV or not).
Did you manually change your oggenc2.exe to another version?
However, a "Force (re)install" on oggenc2 should have solved the pb.

I have a question about MeGUI: Could we have an option to manually edit jobs' command line before starting them? I'd like to set a legacy sar according to specs instead of the calculated one by MeGUI, since I don't resize, only crop before encoding.
BTW, it would be fair if MeGUI gave SAR instead of DAR through Avisynth script. At least in this case, SAR doesn't need to be modified. There are SAR tables in MPEG-4 specs for example, well-suited for further calculations (designed from mod16 res).

Thanks.

try manually removing the worker before starting the queue.

I'll give that a shot when I find some spare time. Anyway don't bother much about this. It may be a little inconvenient but I can live with that. ;)

Sorry if this has been asked before, but I'm getting about a 300 MB size increase when converting my Megui MKV output to a Blu-ray structure via TsMuxer.

Is this a cropping/resize issue in MeGUI? Should I just encode with MeGUI leaving crop/resize options untouched?

Thanks for any input.

Is only a container (mkv -> m2ts) issue. The video or audio tracks are the same.

For instance:
a.mkv 4613434731 bytes

converted with TsMuxer:
a.m2ts 4888528896 bytes
