please empty your temp file in RA4 folder and retry.

I think I got the culprit. It only crashes on this file on my list:
FM_feat_Holly_Brook-Whered_You_Go_(Jay_Leno_show_24-05-2006).avi
Too long filename that causes that memory error?

Sirber, are you using short fixed-length strings? Or do you use string classes? Not sure how it is in Delphi, but if you did use short buffers, then that is a serious mistake :sly:
Robutix
14th July 2006, 19:57
Gotcha, after renaming that file to "1.avi" it resumed peacefully...
Uhm, maybe i discovered some memory bug on string handling eh?
EDIT: Now I'm gonna check if the double video stream in the output will be corrected as well. :)
Sirber

I'm using normal "string" in delphi. I never encoured that bug before.
Robutix
14th July 2006, 21:02
Aha! The double video stream output only happens when I uncheck the 'encode audio' option. I use ordinary avi as input then the output mp4 produces stream 0 = avc1 (video), stream 1 = mp4v (video), then the last stream 2 = mpga (audio), according to VLC player. 3 streams total! If I leave the audio mp3 as is then this happens on the output.
So that's the bug of not ticking the "encode audio" box... hmmm.
Sirber

Only work with simple OGM/MKV/MP4.
In RA5 our system changed completly and everything goes through directshow for processing, whatever it is.
told ya not to uncheck that box :p
HA! I win! :D
Robutix
14th July 2006, 21:24
What's the use of that tick box anyway?! XD
Even in RA4 tweaking that feature is worthless~ It even bloated the ouput size to some MB greater than the original input. LOL!
Good thing you recoded the whole thing in RA5! So it should be left with serious options to messed up with, huh? By that this feature has to be blown along with other code-craps. XD

It was in advanced tab, so you wasn't supposed to touch it! ;)
It's main use is hope ;)
Best use VDub as I said :)

That means I'm letting go of high quality compression of x264 in exchange for higher bitrate of music. :scared:
Sirber
15th July 2006, 14:50
you can have high quality x264 with vdub too, you just have to choose the right settings!
or merge your AVIs in MKV then retry in RA4.

How saad RealAnime 5 post was closed, just because some people only know how to argue and argue, criticize, not even a "thank you for this man, it's really great!", just: "why don't you do that?/This is really bad, I didn't like it, make how I want!..."
I know I've asked you some dumb questions sometimes, which I had to ask in an other topic, but I really like your job and your iniciative. How sad you have to read such things.
But, are you going to stop RA5 development because of that? I really wish you wouldn't. And thank you for this man, it's really great!
Sirber

RA5 will be finished, no worry. We will just not support (read technical support, user support) it, nor releasing early version (alphas, betas). So it will be out when ready.

No support? What if users run into problems? Should they just scrap RA and get MeGUI?

I don't need any Real Anime support either, every my problems are about audio and video output. I just wish you to keep developing your great software (and disponiblizing it for us), anyway you want, cause it's really really useful.
About not adding nerodigital, I was encoding with it, but this week I had encoded a music (Kelly Clarkson - Because of You, if you want to test) and her initial breathing sounded really bad, I tested with encaacplus and noticed that it's very better at same bitrate (24kbps), even 18kbps sounds better than nero in ~20kbps (Q0.08). So I think encaac is the best bet (sorry if this have nothing to do with RA).
Btw, about that I asked you, read it from wikipedia (not sure if you read too):Replaygain
Replaygain is the name of a technique invented to achieve the same playback volume of audio files. It specifies the reference level of 89dB and an algorithm to measure the perceived loudness of audio data.
Replaygain is different from normalization. In normalization, you merely ensure that the peak amplitude reaches a certain level. However, songs with 'spiky' waveforms might not be amplified enough. The replaygain technique measures the effective power (i.e. RMS after an Equal Loudness Filter) of the waveform, and amplifies the waveform accordingly. The result is that replaygained waveforms are usually more uniformly amplified that normalized waveforms.I've listened replaygained sound and found that it's better than normalized sound. So I was wondering if you could add this to realanime 5, like a selectable nomalization method option, cause it's really nice.
Thanks!
Sirber

we are still developping RA, no worry.
about replaygain, I could add it if you find how to do it.

when I check, that was need file mvp10...dll (i forgot the name, i think that C++ library). I check in my system 32 folder then I just find mvp11...dll (newer vers). I find that mvp10....dll in my hardisk (mybe i found it!) and I find it in my game battlefiled2! after that (I copied the mvp10...dll to system32), that realanime 4 is can go smoothly without problem until now!!! ;)

Hi, I tried to encode an anime file through Real Anime 4 a few months back and I found it dropped frames even when I told it not to. Is this a codec issue or a RA issue? Thanks :)

Hi, I tried to encode an anime file through Real Anime 4 a few months back and I found it dropped frames even when I told it not to. Is this a codec issue or a RA issue? Thanks :)You don't provide enough information. RealAnime don't drop frames since RealAnime is not an encoder. It can be caused by dshow decoders or the codec you are using.
