Audio delay is noticable when using AAC PS (aac+ v2). You can remerge the output files using Matriska GUI and use the right delay (set in Adv. tab) for the next files to encode.

Beside the delay, is there any other problem with this source?

killerhex
22nd February 2006, 06:57
nope no other problems

Sirber
22nd February 2006, 13:19
Can you post the delay you find good for that source?

killerhex

well i few mins after i posted the problem i reencoded the file again and there was no problem i made a mistake in saying there was a delay what had happened i restarted my comp when it began muxing the mkv sry

and i want to test RA4

Sirber

When it work, not before. We want the next release to be "final", so no bug, no crap, and make everyone happy.

Sirber, did u test if newest winamp 5.2 release's aac_v2 encoder is working right with realanime? i mean, no Audio delay

thks

Sirber
23rd February 2006, 22:07
Dunno about the delay. Since the delay vary for each source it's not easy to test.

i have a question about the psp/ipod profiles

i dont have one myself but plan on owning soon
do they play x264 with softsubs or will realanime hardcode the subs with the video?

Sirber

Not for 4.0. Profiles will be for 4.1.

Also, we faced a major bug :(. MediaInfo is crashing on some MKV input. So, we'll release it now with another build of MediaInfo and use a regular version for next release.

I'm making the installers.

4.0 is out.

What changed and what not... does it matter? It's troublesome to write changelogs

Sirber
26th February 2006, 05:55
@clone83

You can input AVS if you want more stuff

@killerhex

You can add them in the menu, but they will not be saved, only the selected one.

Your AVS is borked. Play the "0.avs" file and you will see.

Nothing I can do and not a bug of RealAnime.

You put a Script into another sropt using Avisource...

Sirber
26th February 2006, 21:08
AviSource takes as argument one or more file name in quotes, and reads in the file(s) using either the Video-for-Windows "AVIFile" interface, or AviSynth's built-in OpenDML code (taken from VirtualDub). This filter can read any file for which there's an AVIFile handler. This includes not only AVI files but also WAV files, AVS (AviSynth script) files, and VDR (VirtualDub frameserver) files. If you give multiples filenames as arguments, the clips will be spliced together with UnalignedSplice. The bool argument is optional and defaults to "true".

Hi Sirber,

I'm a total newbie to world of encoding. Thanks very much for your easy-to-use software. I've been successful in converting some of my avi files to x264/aac-ps mkv files.

In trying to encode my vob or vcd mpg files, I ran them through dgindex as mentioned in this thread. Doing so gives me a d2v file and an mpa/ac3 file. Below are four observations I've made followed by my questions.

Observations:

1) I'm able to successfully drop the d2v file into realanime 4 and encode the video. But there is no audio.

2) When I try to drop in both the d2v file and the ac3 file, both are encoded successfuly to x264 and aac-ps, but are treated as separate jobs and hence not muxed together. I then manually mux the two into mkv using mkvtools.

3) However, when I get an mpa file instead of ac3 from dgindex, I can't encode that into aac-ps using realanime 4 because I'm not able to drag it into realanime 4. I suppose mpa audio is not supported. I can mux the encoded x264 video directly with the uncompressed mpa audio stream into mkv with a larger file size.

4) When running dgindex, I notice that several mpa files are generated with various delays even though there is just one audio stream. I suppose it could be because of poorly encoded dvds or vcds (like those "chrink" sounds). This results for example in an mpa file which is shorter by about 2 seconds than the 20 minute video.

Questions:
1) What is the correct way to use dgindex with realanime 4 so as to ensure that the audio (.ac3 or .mpa) is encoded to aac-ps and muxed automagically?

2) How can I ask realanime 4 to take into account the audio delays in the .mpa as generated by dgindex, so that audio encoding is done properly and in sync with the video?

I understand that some of these issues might not be problems with realanime 4 at all. I have tried to also play around with some of the other Gui-encoders, but realanime 4 is definitely the easiest partly because it comes with all the files I need, and is very simply organized. The only thing is that for some reason I just can't get the audio to be encoded along with the video.

Thanks for any help!

wenjia

1) I'm able to successfully drop the d2v file into realanime 4 and encode the video. But there is no audio.D2V is video only.

2) When I try to drop in both the d2v file and the ac3 file, both are encoded successfuly to x264 and aac-ps, but are treated as separate jobs and hence not muxed together. I then manually mux the two into mkv using mkvtools.2 files is 2 jobs. RealAnime is not ment for DVD ripping, but to recode AVI and other 1-file jobs.

RealAnime wasn't set to allow MPA since I never faced them :) I'm gonna add it to next release. In the meantime you can try to rename it to MP3.

4) When running dgindex, I notice that several mpa files are generated with various delays even though there is just one audio stream. I suppose it could be because of poorly encoded dvds or vcds (like those "chrink" sounds). This results for example in an mpa file which is shorter by about 2 seconds than the 20 minute video.I ahve no idea :(

1) What is the correct way to use dgindex with realanime 4 so as to ensure that the audio (.ac3 or .mpa) is encoded to aac-ps and muxed automagically? There's none yet :)

2) How can I ask realanime 4 to take into account the audio delays in the .mpa as generated by dgindex, so that audio encoding is done properly and in sync with the video? You can set the delay in "Adv." tab or while merging with mkvmerge.

Sirber

hum... seems it's not there. Bad installer. I'll make new ones.

[edit]

In the meantime you can get producer on helix website and install it in "RealAnime 4\bin\producer\". New installer (4.0.1) will be avalible at noon (GTM -5) on the website and torrent.

If you don't need RV10 you won't have to upgrade.

By the way, why only the small amount of resolution in the list? Concdering I have a 1920 x 1200 resolution, would it not be better if I resized it near that size to remove most artifacts? I remember seeing HD files compressed at a low bitrate that actually had good quality (although I never saw them - just read!).

When only using Convulation3D, I still get encoder error #-1. Zoom Player plays the file fine. Here is the script:

# RealAnime 4
LoadPlugin ("C:\My Installed Apps\RealAnime 4\avs\DGDecode.dll")
LoadPlugin ("C:\My Installed Apps\RealAnime 4\avs\aWarpSharp.dll")
LoadPlugin ("C:\My Installed Apps\RealAnime 4\avs\Convolution3DYV12.dll")
LoadPlugin ("C:\My Installed Apps\RealAnime 4\avs\Decomb521.dll")
LoadPlugin ("C:\My Installed Apps\RealAnime 4\avs\IT.dll")
LoadPlugin ("C:\My Installed Apps\RealAnime 4\avs\asharp.dll")
LoadPlugin ("C:\My Installed Apps\RealAnime 4\avs\MSharpen.dll")
LoadPlugin ("C:\My Installed Apps\RealAnime 4\avs\Msmooth.dll")
LoadPlugin ("C:\My Installed Apps\RealAnime 4\avs\VSFilter.dll")
LoadPlugin ("C:\My Installed Apps\RealAnime 4\avs\NiceFPS.dll")
DirectShowSource("C:\My Installed Apps\RealAnime 4\temp\video_0.avi", fps=23.9759998321533)
Convolution3D(preset="animeLQ")

More:
When trying to stop, it seems RA needs to wait for the processes to end, which makes it a long wait.
And I doubt that my SATA drive (F:) is slower than C:, but RA copies the entire source anyway.
Now trying without filter reduction.
Now it seems to be encoding fine >_<

RealAnime 4 now merge AVI into MKV for better analysis.
If RealAnime can't kill the process, you have to do it manually or else it will go to the end of the encode.

Now that is exactly what I did. You have some things on your hand to check out, though, I should say. Good luck.

MSmooth is faulty maybe. I'll check.

Also, IMO you filter too much :p

I don't know how to use it :p
Besides, all my sources are noisy. At least a little...

MSmooth is an hardcore denoiser. Best use C3D (AnimeHQ).
Also, little noise doesn't hurt. I suggest you try whitout filtering first. Filtering remove details :)

Well, I can do not much else since RA fails when I use any filtering. I always use defiltering in ffdshow to remove that annoying noise. It is SO much better even if it removes some details.

I added a torrent link: http://www.detritus.qc.ca/bt/index.php
It's also on the main page. Currently I'm the only one seeding so speed might not be that good.

i'm downloading it now and seed it for a while :)

Well, I can do not much else since RA fails when I use any filtering. Every filter fails? Do you have AVISynth 2.56?
i'm downloading it now and seed it for a while :)Thanks!

Every filter fails? Do you have AVISynth 2.56?
MSmooth + AnimeLQ = Fails
AnimeLQ = Fails
No filters = OK!

I downloaded avisynth via the installation of RA. Yes, it works just fine because I was able to play the avisynth file that was created by RA (with AnimeLQ).

Haven't tried only MSmooth because now it is encoding! And x264 is slow, as we all know. Still on the second pass with 1:54 left.
