No, just animeLQ. That's all! I swear!
Besides, when I "filtered like crazy" was just for testing purposes.Yeah right :p

is x264 using both CPU? I heard avisynth is not SMP.

Eretria-chan
15th March 2006, 17:39
Yes, both cpus are almost peaking, so they are both being utilized.

Sirber
15th March 2006, 17:54
in the logs, is x264 using 2 threads?

Eretria-chan
15th March 2006, 19:23
[2006-03-14 : 23:03:17] : ***** Encoding Video to x264 File (x264) *****
[2006-03-14 : 23:03:17] : "F:\RealAnime 4\bin\x264.exe" --me umh --subme 6 --8x8dct --mixed-refs --ref 8 --b-rdo --analyse "all" --trellis 1 --min-keyint 12 --min-keyint 600 --bime --direct auto --weightb --bframes 3 --filter 2:2 --bitrate 318 --pass 3 --no-fast-pskip --no-psnr --progress --threads 2 -o "F:\RealAnime 4\temp\video_enc_0.mkv.mkv" "F:\RealAnime 4\temp\1.avs"
Indeed...
I will now test without animeLQ. Settings are normal: Medium quality, 318 bitrate, yada yada, though 48 kbps aac audio. And no filtering. At all.

Sirber
15th March 2006, 19:26
ok. then I don't know :p

Eretria-chan
15th March 2006, 19:36
Don't be afraid, there probably is no bug in your software :p
Whew, hey, first pass is going at 38 fps.

Sirber
15th March 2006, 20:02
Smells like bad slow filters ;)
You always filter too much :(

Eretria-chan
15th March 2006, 20:06
But I didn't. I just enabled animeLQ - that's all. I get 9-10 fps on second pass.
I don't write scripts - I simply drag and drop files into RA, change the settings a little and hit start.

Sirber
15th March 2006, 20:08
I don't write scripts - I simply drag and drop files into RA, change the settings a little and hit start. You have to press nicely Start to get few more FPS ;)

Eretria-chan
15th March 2006, 20:13
You mean you actually made the program intelligent enough to slow things down if you are a bad person? You bastard! ;)

^_^x
15th March 2006, 21:26
sirber, this the error code from tomorrow
http://anane.wyger.nl/img/realanime.jpg

note: it popup in all profile except normal

Sirber
15th March 2006, 21:47
use imageshack.us, I don't get it.

anne_so78
15th March 2006, 22:10
I don't get it.
that image (error box) says, "Floating point division by zero."

Sirber
15th March 2006, 22:34
hum...

Can you post the Info of your source? Seems I'm missing the width and height of the source. This is normal if you input AVS. If you use AVS as source, "auto" in Filtering will not work well.

Sirber
16th March 2006, 13:08
RealAnime access violation if I wanna "Info" while encoding then goes in an infinite loop of crash report popup if I close RealAnime.

also, on this source, video doesn't get extracted:

sorry, 2 more days. i am on vocation now.
but when trying to encode other file(this time), there is no error.

Found a bug with MKV:

http://www.detritus.qc.ca/index.php?entry=entry060316-152819

Also, I'm wondering, what if I drop DropDupe for RV10 and use the "new rate control"? It might decrease wuality on low bitrate but it will always hit the desired filesize.

clone83
18th March 2006, 23:07
@Sirber: i dont think that people r going to choose filesize over quality.... to me i think that i would prefer to have more quality then filesize

killerhex
18th March 2006, 23:41
easy for you to say clone83 you probably have a lot of HD space most people dont

Eretria-chan
18th March 2006, 23:43
I would care more for quality. I never estimate filesizes, really... I would take acceptable quality and let the filesize become as it may be...

Sirber
19th March 2006, 00:31
@clone83

Did I miss something? What are you talking about?

a curve means constant quality using VBR. Every popular codecs use the curve.

I don't know. Look in RealAnime.log.

killerhex
22nd March 2006, 12:46
hey sirber how do i crop a 512x384 4:3 to 640x360 16:9

Sirber
22nd March 2006, 13:11
I'll release next weekend an update that will cover those area:
* Handeled resize skipped if no source res found (AVS) (no more div / 0 error)
* x264 --threads-input (if SMP)
* x264 subme 7 (for High Quality profile)
* Appropriate default bitrate for iPod profile (x264, xvid) for anime/cartoon content at 24fps.
* Use normal x264 for Handeled profiles, no more DTS x264 :)

What I can't fix:
* RealAnime access violation due to MediaInfo.dll

Soshen
22nd March 2006, 14:35
you add the possibility to change video encoding mode in other way to "sharp" ?

Sirber
22nd March 2006, 14:36
I need more infos for your question.
Also, some "please" and "Can you" would be better. :sly:

Eretria-chan
22nd March 2006, 17:01
What I can't fix:
* RealAnime access violation due to MediaInfo.dll
Can't you catch and ignore the error? Like try in C++.

Sirber
22nd March 2006, 17:03
I'm not sure. The error pop when RealAnime close. When RealAnime is closing, I don't do anything with MediaInfo. Maybe some things in MI are not freed correctly.

Eretria-chan
22nd March 2006, 17:07
Then it might be it does something weird when it is unloaded. I have no idea how Delphi works, but you could take a look at the assembly and see where it goes wrong. I'd do that with C++ and probably track down the problem, but... this is delphi, so I can't help.
Good luck with the issue anyway.

Sirber
22nd March 2006, 17:14
I can get ASm dumps, but it's so useless in delphi :)

I'm in contact with the author of MI via IM, he said he's looking into it.

MPEG is AVS input :)

Go in Filtering and set your resize by hand.
