Hey Mrc,

Did you had the dimensions for the image on the installer for you program? I can design one for the new release when it's will coming out from beta?

I Will design it from the splash screen i've design.
Also, i need to update the shadow of the icon in the splash screen, i doesnt like it, i need to look more natural. I know how to correct it.

And that splash screen is the official one on the next release?

Just an update; in the splash screen, put the text in black for the release version and beta build text.

Thanks.

**Edit**: new splash attached to this post.
- Fixed the shadow with a real shadow (perspective effect, guassian blur effect, 85% oppacity.
- Updated the titles AVStoDVD font tunned to fine/precised effect.
- Ice/Polar background
- Lightings storm effect in both side of the icon/movie image

Vertical image: 164x314 px

Yes, it is ;)

It should be already black, isn't it?

Great, i will design it for you as soon as possible.

No it was in white. But when i unstall the older version, i say yes to keep registry setting in the registry of windows. Did to keep that registry keys keep that white title? I don't think so it must be in the programmation itself of avstodvd?

Thanks for your great support! Very appreciated

It's a pleasure! I like your software and use it every week. If i can help in a way, i help for small things like that. Also i like to photoshop somes things, design publicity, business card, etc.

I let you know when your image in the setup is ready.

Hi Mrc!

Here all the images for installer!

Hi there!

I'm glad to see another new release of AVStoDVD. I haven't tested it so far, but changelog looks promising ;)

Hope to see AVS script support for DVD menu backgrounds one day...

Change log:

- Added graphical support to 32bit icons using VB resource library (DLL ActiveX)

I've began to update icon packs back to 32bit color depth, but I always get default icons for all buttons. Am I missing some dlls or do you only support a icon dll now?

Cheerio,
JohnJ

PS: I also collected some new ideas for menu backgrounds. If I got enough input, I'll create a new template pack.

It is coming... keep the hope. ;)

If Icons.dll file (.ico container, ActiveX DLL resource library) is found, it is used, otherwise .ico files (if present) are loaded.

I also collected some new ideas for menu backgrounds. If I got enough input, I'll create a new template pack.

Great! Eager to see them!

Awesome...I already got a script from an earlier project ready to provide an example/tutorial.

..., otherwise .ico files (if present) are loaded.

And those single icon files (still) have to be 8bit?

Yep, 32bit support is only thru resource dll.

Yep, 32bit support is only thru resource dll.

Aaahh...I got it. Is there a simple way to create such ressource dlls without Visual-Studio/-Basic/... for testing purposes?

EDIT: I used Resource Hacker, but icons doesn't really look like 32bit (missing alpha channel). Should I send you a sample?

I used Resource Hacker, but icons doesn't really look like 32bit (missing alpha channel).

That's another VB6 limit: even if forced to accept 32bit icons, alpha channel is completely indigestible... It is converted to black.

Have you installed Haali Media Splitter? If yes and it does not work, try to use 'FFMpegSource' instead of 'A2DSource' in 'Preferences'/'AviSynth'.

Hi Mrc,

Still having a audiodelay issue in the beta release! No sound until 12minutes. It look like that the sound is desync of 12 minutes. Like the past release.

From MediaInfo reading:

Audio 1: E:\BLURAY\Game of Death 2010 FRENCH AC3 1100ms 720P DVD5.AVCHD\AVCHD\BDMV\STREAM\00000.m2ts
Info: AC3 - 384 kbps - CBR - 6 ch - 48000 Hz - 16 bit - 1:25:56 hours (601100 ms delay) - Internal

Thus AVStoDVD applies following AviSynth command:

Audio = Audio.DelayAudio(601.1)

If MediaInfo reading is wrong and actually there is no audio delay in source file, the result is exactly a (huge) out-of-sync.

To avoid AVStoDVD to adjust (fake) audio delay, be sure that 'Edit Title'/'Audio'/'Auto Delay Audio' is off.

To fix these MediaInfo mis-readings, I can add a consistency check on delay amount: if more than i.e. 5 seconds, than a warning can pop up.

;)

I've got two more links for you, maybe it's helpful ;) :

1. Displaying Alpha (32bit) Icons with ImageLists (http://www.vbaccelerator.com/home/vb/code/controls/ImageList/Displaying_Alpha_%2832bit%29_Icons_with_ImageLists/article.asp)

2. XP icons for VB6 programs (http://translate.google.de/translate?u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.vbarchiv.net%2Fworkshop%2Fworkshop_92-xp-icons-fuer-vb6-programme.html&sl=de&tl=en&hl=&ie=UTF-8)

WARNING!

There's a bug in the delay detection routine: AVStoDVD is using the MediaInfo 'Audio'/'Delay' stream tag, instead correct tag is 'Audio'/'Video Delay'.

PLEASE DE-ACTIVATE 'Preferences'/'Audio'/'Auto Adjust Delay' WHEN USING RELEASES 2.3.4 AND 2.4.0 beta 110401

A new beta will be soon available.

Assume I have an *.avi video. Now I want tto convert it so that I get an *.iso file which contains a DVD structure ready to burn.

How can I do this?

Ok, I loaded the source video into AVStoDVD.

But when I want to click menu

Options->Output Setup

then the "ISO UDF image" is greyed out/disabled.

Why?

How else can I create an *.iso image?

install ImgBurn (included in AVStoDVD Installer package) and that option will be enabled.

I have both installed AVStoDVD and ImgBurn but ImgBurn is not linked in AVStoDVD.

I want a two-step manual process rather than a one-step-automatic process. I have a computer with a fast quad core cpu for converting but with a bad DVD burner device and a weak computer with a good DVD burner.

Furthermore I prefer to have control over what is burned.

So I like to convert at first an *.avi. The result was a *.m2v file which seems to contain the DVD structure. Am I correct here? Can I somehow peek into this big archive? I expected a VIDEO_TS folder

When I copied this big file to the other computer and try to burn it with ImgBurn it does NOT accept this type of file.

"Invalid or unsupport file format".

So I cannot burn *.m2v files with ImgBurn? I though *.m2v would be the intermediate file for burning.

How does the whole process work otherwise?

Mike

@mike23

if you are getting a m2v file (and probably a ac3 file as well), you have chosen 'Elementary MPEG2 Streams' as 'Output Setup'. To get VIDEO_TS/AUDIO_TS folders, select 'DVD Folders' instead.

Hi Mrc,

First use of v 2.4.0; got an error while click "Browse and open a m2ts file".

When click "Open" to the selected m2ts file; AVStoDVD gives that error:

Error 11
Division by zero

Click "OK"
After...
Warning! Failed to initialize Project and compute output DVD size! Check your settings.

After that the video was added, but can i continue and try to convert it?

THanks.

It could be that Mediainfo has detected 0 fps as source m2ts framerate. Is that the case (see source file video info)?

Hey MrC I just found your program (!) and it appears amazingly easy for me to make DVDs from my homebrew BD discs-with-menus!

In my first attempt I told AVStoDVD to stop after the 1st title (of 6 total) and it appears there is no way to resume the operation again, am I right? When I tried to run the project again, the program started anew with Title 1, giving it a new name i.e. _1_ where the 1st one I'd made was _0_. Any way to start again with the next title?

I had interrupted the process to check the quality of the MPEG2 720x480 vs the original 1920x1080. It is downright amazing... :)

MrC
14th June 2011, 16:01
Hi laserfan and welcome there

The way to resume the process is not very "clear", but there is: just delete the project log file (i.e. DVD_0.log) and leave all already encoded DVD assets files (m2v, ac3, sup). When you start the project again (use same DVD and Titles names), AVStoDVD will ask you if you want to overwrite or keep them.

This appears to be working, many thanks! I suggest you add this to your [excellent] Help file, possibly on the Progress Status Window page.

Maybe my search methods were faulty, but I couldn't find anything about this anywhere before.

Hey my DVD looks great, but AVStoDVD did not incorporate the original chapter marks despite that I had checked "Use Source Chapters List". Instead I got 5min chapter interval. I don't see anywhere (among the temp files) that it extracted any chapter info from my BD to use. What about this--should it work? Using 2.4.0 from 27May2011.

Also, it seems odd to me that "TempPath" contains a bunch of small files, but then OutputPath gets all the intermediate video/audio files as well as the final DVD titleset output. It would be most welcome if the Muxman output could be directed to a drive Other Than the same drive as the files it reads from. Would speed things up a lot, as well as limit disc "thrashing".

laserfan
14th June 2011, 23:37
BTW MrC owing to the "easter egg" I've been able to fix my chapter marks and re-run the project, and I found a glitch you might want to fix. My chapter list included a "zero" celltime, e.g.
0
4971
16851
28788
39234
40401

which AVStoDVD happily accepted (in the Edit Title>Chapters>Import Chapters tab) but then MuxMan refused to run--it aborted with no indication in any of the logs as to why. Since I'd noticed earlier that I couldn't hand-enter a 0 into a chapter location, on a whim I deleted the 0 celltime chapter for every Title, and MuxMan happily ran thereafter. I guess it inserts a zero chapter on its own without needing (or wanting!) to be told.

In my previous post I'd assumed that the "use source chapter" failure was a bug: is it instead the case that AVStoDVD chapters need to be hand-entered as I've done?

MrC
15th June 2011, 11:41
@laserfan

about chapters, AVStoDVD can use source file chapters if they are detected by MediaInfo. Does MediaInfo read the chapters list from your BD stream? Chapter flag at "0" frame cannot be accepted by MuxMan: I have to handle that. Thanks for pointing out that GUI bug.

About temp folder for DVD asset files, that's already an improvement in the long ToDo list. BTW thanks for the suggestion.

I downloaded the GUI for MediaInfo 0.7.44 as you use that dll, and it shows no chapters in any m2ts stream, or even if I open the .clpi file (and yes there are BD chapters therein of course). It seems MediaInfo maybe only sees mkv or IFO chapters, but not BD?

Right click on the source title, then 'View Title Info' (or use CTRL-I). You will get the MediaInfo readings.

Of course, right-clicking on a couple of .m2ts files from several BDs I have on hand here do not show any Chapter information listed.

So it seems this feature doesn't work, unless I misunderstand how to load a BD Title into the program, because if I select an .m2ts file from a BDMV to use it as a "Source Title", the m2ts file doesn't know anything about chapters--chapter info for BDs is contained in the clpi file.

BTW this also "doesn't work" not just for BD but also for DVD. If I use MediaInfo GUI to load a DVD .IFO file, it knows there are chapters therein. But if I try to load the .IFO title into AVStoDVD, it insists on indexing the VOBs first (into .d2v) and the custom chapters are lost:
